Chapter 19
The three men stood frozen in place, staring at the scattered pearls, gem fragments embedded in their legs, and the torn photo on the floor.
No one spoke. Rebecca had refused to return with them. She viewed knowing them was a
misfortune in her life.
Rebecca’s words echoed in their minds, twisting deeper with every replay.
None of them moved, just standing with bowed heads as tears fell silently to the floor.
Loki finally wiped his tears away, and said in a husky voice, “I won’t give up on Rebecca. I’ll earn her forgiveness.”
As if sparked by his words, Darth added, “I don’t believe twenty years of being together can be forgotten so quickly.”
Anton nodded. “She’s just heartbroken. Apologizing takes time… you can’t expect one conversation to
fix it all.”
Though they spoke confidently, each questioned himself:
‘Is not giving up even worth it?‘
‘Has she really moved on so quickly?‘
‘What if she really meant every word?‘
With heavy hearts and aching legs, they finally dragged themselves out of the restaurant.
They didn’t even notice Ariana standing nearby.
Ignored completely, Ariana watched with seething eyes.
She remembered how they’d first noticed her–when she’d “protected” them from muggers she’d
hired herself.
But the plan had worked, hadn’t it?

They’d accepted her. Her life at school improved. Even her days at the Gadot mansion became easier. Her father had even received a raise because of it.
She’d always known that to get what you want, you have to fight for it by any means necessary.
She pulled out her phone, sent a text and let out a unhinged smile.
Outside the restaurant, Rebecca found Chris waiting, his face clearly showing his displeasure.
She rushed to him and threw herself into his arms.
Chris’s mood instantly lifted when he saw her enthusiastic embrace, but he deliberately kept his
voice cold.
“So you do remember your husband was waiting out here? I thought you’d forgotten about me,
talking for so long.”
Knowing full well Chris couldn’t stay mad at her, Rebecca was happy to placate him.
“Honey, let’s go home,” she said, tilting her head and widening her eyes in an exaggerated pleading
look.
Chris had no defense against her charm and immediately surrendered to her cute act.
Though still a bit jealous, he he’d make sure she made it up to him tonight.
Rebecca had no idea what he was plotting as she happily skipped to the car.
Back at the house, Chris wasted no time pushing her onto the bed.
Rebecca finally realized how petty he could be.
She had only talked to them for a few minutes, yet her husband was now punishing her relentlessly
in bed.
As she finally passed out from exhaustion, her last coherent thought was never to provoke jealousy in this man again. He was terrifying.
As expected, the next day Rebecca could barely move her legs.
She spent the entire day in bed while Chris was back to playing the doting husband–apologetic but clearly unrepentant.

He massaged her shoulders and fed her meals but refused to promise restraint in sex.
She didn’t know what other men were like, but she truly couldn’t handle this one.
