Chapter 13
Though Chris had handled most of the wedding details, Rebecca was still exhausted.
After a quick shower, she collapsed onto the bed, suddenly nervous about what would happen next.
When Chris stepped out of the bathroom, his eyes burned with desire as he took in the sight of his
bride on their bed.
Rebecca had many questions for him, but now clearly wasn’t the time.
“Can you… turn off the lights?” she stammered.
“Sure.”
Chris left only a warm bedside lamp glowing as he leaned down to kiss his bride.
The bed rocked with the rhythm of their movements.
Hours later, Rebecca’s soft and pleading voice broke through. “Please… no more…”
“Please, babe, just a little more,” Chris coaxed, his voice husky.
“O–Okay…” She gave in easily to his persuasion.
By the time he finally stopped, dawn was breaking.
Chris carried her to the bathroom, gently cleaned her up and they collapsed into exhausted sleep.
Meanwhile, three men stood outside the empty wedding venue, staring at the deserted hall.
Realizing they were too late, they immediately drove to the Evans estate.
But when they got there, security blocked their path.
Forced to wait in their car, every minute felt excruciating. They’d never experienced time moving so slowly.

As morning broke, the only people leaving the estate were servants on shopping errands.
They exchanged a glance and followed. This was their only chance.
The moment the car rounded the corner, they intercepted it and forced the staff to let them in.
After a tense negotiation, the nervous staff finally agreed.
The moment they entered the estate, they headed straight for the main house.
The shopping servants free now and immediately contacted security.
Alarms blared throughout the estate.
Rebecca was jolted awake by the noise. She groaned and nudged Chris, who had her wrapped in his
arms.
“What’s going on?”
“Intruders,” he mumbled. “You stay here. I’ll handle it.”
After Chris left, Rebecca couldn’t fall back asleep.
She got up to wash, catching sight of bruises and bite marks trailed down her neck and collarbone in
the bathroom mirror.
“What is he, a werewolf?” she muttered in disbelief.
She chose a high–necked outfit, but some marks still peeked through.
When she came downstairs, she found three unwelcome visitors pinned to the floor by security.
“What are you guys doing here?”
Loki, Darth, and Anton froze mid–argument with Chris.
Their eyes immediately locked onto the visible hickeys on her neck.
A suffocating pain gripped their hearts as they turned to glare at Chris’s self–satisfied face.
They looked ready to tear him apart.

Chris ignored their murderous stares, rushing to Rebecca’s side and helping her to the sofa.
Rebecca shot a glare at the man responsible for her aching waist.
Chris rubbed his nose sheepishly. “Hungry?”
“Yeah.” She nodded, then gestured for him to explain the three men restrained on their living room
floor.
“They snuck in by threatening the kitchen staff. Security thought they were intruders,” Chris said
casually.
Rebecca sighed. “Let them go. They’re… my brothers.”
At her command, Chris signaled the guards to release them.
‘Brothers‘. The word hit all three men like a punch to the gut. They forgot their embarrassment,
feeling only a sharper pain.
“Rebecca.” The moment they were free, they rushed toward her, only to be blocked again by security
Forced to stay put, they called out to her.
“Rebecca, you can’t just marry someone out of spite.”
“Come back with us,” Darth urged.
“I don’t care that he fuck yo… just come home. We can pretend none of this happened.”
Their words made Chris’s blood boil. Before he could respond, Rebecca raised her hand to stop him.
She gave her new husband a reassuring look, then turned to the three men.
“Loki, Darth, Anton–don’t flatter yourselves. You really think I married him to get back at you? How
pathetic is that?”
“And whether you ‘mind‘ or not, Why would I care? Who the hell do you think you are? Maybe I was too nice to you before to have such delusions.”
“You’re not worth it. Any of you.”
With that, she turned to Chris so they could go eat breakfast. Chris couldn’t hide his satisfaction at

He signaled the security team to throw them out–don’t ruin his wife’s appetite.
“Rebecca…”
Their voices faded as they were dragged away.
