Chapter 12
Chris carried Rebecca to the wedding car like a conquering hero.
Though his face remained stoic, anyone could see he was on cloud nine.
Rebecca’s parents exchanged puzzled glances. Chris wasn’t at all what they’d expected–perhaps
their daughter had made the right choice after all.
In the car, neither knew what to say.
The silence grew awkward.
“You- they both started at once. Rebecca, seeing his nervousness and suddenly relaxed.
“You go first,” she said with a gentle smile.
Chris eyed his bride’s slender frame with concern. “Are you hungry? I brought some snacks. Today’s going to be exhausting.”
“Yes, thank you,” Rebecca replied automatically.
You don’t have to be so formal with me.” Her politeness seemed to disappoint him.
“Oh?” Rebecca grew curious about her husband.
He was nothing like the rumors described.
Noticing his reddening ears, she sensed he didn’t view their arranged marriage as a burden at all.
At the hotel, Rebecca was taken to the bridal suite to change into her another wedding gown.
The couture creation was like a crafted work of art. Every stitch, every bead was a testament to the designer’s skill
Rebecca was captivated the moment she saw it.
The makeup artist and attendants gasped in awe. “It’s stunning.”
When Rebecca emerged from the changing room in her gown, everyone was once again

mesmerized by her beauty and the gown’s magnificence.
The makeup artist marveled at her flawless skin, “No amount of makeup could ever do her justice.”
She worked with extraordinary focus to enhance what already seemed like perfection.
“Ladies and gentlemen, let’s welcome the bride!” As the priest’s voice echoed through the hall, the
doors swung open.
All eyes turned to Rebecca as her father walked her down the aisle.
She floated in her wedding gown, her graceful steps making her appear like she’d just stepped out of
a dream.
Chris felt as though Cupid’s arrow had struck his heart.
Everything was unfolding more perfectly than he could have imagined.
He took Rebecca’s hand from her father, so nervous he could barely coordinate his movements.
Her father observed his son–in–law’s demeanor and felt reassured that his daughter had chosen
wisely.
He returned to his seat beside his wife, gently squeezing her hand. Their exchanged glance said
everything without words.
“Chris, will you have this woman to the wedded wife? To have and hold from this day forward. For better, for worse. For richer, for poorer. In sickness and in health. To love and to cherish till death.
you do part?”
Chris stared into Rebecca’s eyes, his voice firm and clear. “I do.”
The intensity in his gaze made Rebecca’s heart skip a beat.
He loved her! Rebecca was absolutely certain.
But where had these feelings come from? She wondered and lost in thought.
“Bride, do you?” The priest repeated, noticing the bride’s distraction.
Across from her, Chris nervously squeezed her hand.

Rebecca felt his anxiety and gave him a reassuring squeeze.
“I do!”
“You may now kiss the bride!”
Chris leaned in and placed a reverent kiss on Rebecca’s forehead.
