Chapter 102
Hearing this, Emily eagerly opened the design and placed it on the desk, looking at Chris with anticipation. As Chris glanced at the design, searching for errors to point out, his brows furrowed and seemed obviously unsatisfied with the design in front of him.
“There are quite a few flaws, and it’s not perfect.” He stated bluntly.
The smile on Emily’s face instantly froze as her lips trembled, and she remarked, “I will modify it and show it to you.”
Chris set aside the blueprint, stood up, and disinterestedly replied, “Sorry, I have a party at noon, so I can’t join you for dinner. You eat alone.”
“Chris, please wait!” Emily shouted aggrievedly and hurriedly chased up, “It’s hard to grasp a reservation, and you’re busy. We last ate a while ago, so you can stay with me. Please, Chris.”
In hesitation, a complex emotion flashed across Chris’s eyes. Emily had saved him. He would always be kind to her as long as she did not cross his boundaries.
“Emily, don’t be willful. I really have something to do today.” Chris affirmed.
Seeing Chris unfazed, Emily tugged his sleeve and refused to let go. She lowered her head and mumbled, “Then when are you free?”
Chris looked down at her and brushed her hand off calmly. Emily’s eyes welled up, feeling disheartened by Chris’s cold treatment. “Chris, no matter how busy you used to be, you still took time to accompany me. Why are you so indifferent to me now? Is it because of your ex–wife?” Rebecca wept, wiping her tears.
As Rebecca’s name was mentioned, Chris’s eyes became grim. How could Rebecca affect his mood and decision? It was ridiculous! “Don’t mention her name in front of me in the future,” Chris growled.
After Chris finished speaking sharply, he left the office with a contorted face. Emily fell to the ground in pain, her face still pooled with tears as she clutched the hem of her dress tightly, bearing a grudge against Rebecca. Could she really have no way to win Chris’s heart back?
At this moment, Emily inadvertently caught a glimpse of another drawing beside her desk. Driven by curiosity, she opened the blueprint, and the logo of Creative Creations‘ design came into view.
It turned out that Creative Creations had also signed up to participate in designing the Evans Corporation’s new real estate. She had to say that the design before her was much more perfect than hers. If she were the boss, she would definitely choose Creative Creations.
Green–eyed, Emily’s eyes flashed a ray of unyielding light. She crumpled Creative Creations‘ design into a ball, secretly competing with this company.
Clark had been at the door of the CEO’s office. As soon as Chris walked out, he attentively leaned over and nodded, “Mr. Gadot, are you going out to dinner?”
Without looking back, Chris’s expression was stern, and his steps were sharp. He didn’t even look at Clark, who chased him after the elevator, saying, “Mr. Evans, please.”
Suddenly, Creative Creations‘ contract double–crossed his mind. Undoubtedly, the design met his requirements, but when he thought of Rebecca’s current job at Creative Creations, his heart vexed about cooperating with Creative Creations.
“Take away Creative Creations‘ blueprint on my desk. Don’t let it appear in my office in the future.” Chris growled.
With that, Clark’s eyes widened in disbelief as his heart plummeted, and he questioned, “Mr. Evans, are you not satisfied with Creative Creations‘ design this time? If you are unsatisfied, you can ask them to change it until you are satisfied.”
“Did I give you the power to veto what I said?” Chris snarled, annoyed.
In fidgets, Clark strode forward and mumbled/“Mr. Evans, I’m sorry. I’ll take the blueprints immediately.” The elevator door closed, and an unwavering chill struck Clark’s spine. Creative Creations‘ designs were impeccable and unique, but why couldn’t it catch the eye of their CEO?
At this moment, Clark’s phone suddenly rang. He picked up the phone and heard Avery’s anxiously anticipating voice on the other line.
“Mr. Richardson, I am Avery from Creative Creations. Have you seen our Company’s blueprints?” Avery asked.
Clark lowered his voice and responded, “The situation has changed. Let’s meet for details.”

Inside the building of Creative Creations, Rebecca was carefully sketching her design. Also, it’s a preparation for this month’s competition. She had to complete her daily work design tasks, which was an underground garage for a large shopping mall.
It might sound unremarkable, but it was an important matter, and the requirements were stringent, so she shouldn’t slack off in this one. It’s more complex than just drawing a parking space. It involves more issues such as lighting, ventilation, and fire protection.
Obviously, this was the company’s assessment of her strength. Rebecca attached great importance to her and was determined to complete the task without a hitch.
Suddenly, a sharp exclamation sounded from outside, yelling, “Why did Mr. Smith disagree?”
Avery’s words seemed to sting as she abruptly rose from her chair, her expression contorted with frustration as she hurriedly walked out, causing a quiet uproar.
“Where did Avery go?” One of Rebecca’s co–workers asked.
“If you guessed correctly, she should have gone to the Evans Corporation to find the design department manager, Mr. Richardson,” Agatha uttered.
When she heard about the Evans Corporation, Rebecca’s heart tightened, “I didn’t expect Creative Creations and the Evans Corporation to cooperate, and Avery oversaw a team. It should not be a small project. One group might be about to capsize this time.” Another gossiped.
“Let’s see if she’s still arrogant in the future.” Agatha chuckled.
“If a team can’t win this deal, the company will lose in the end, and it won’t do us any good.” Monica slotted in without gazing off from her drawing.
“Wait for the notice. If one team doesn’t work, Mr. Smith may let our team or another team step into the game. It’s all for the company. Any team can sign the contract.” Rebecca’s team leader speculated.
“It’s hard to assess the outcomes. After all, this is not a small company. Besides, the corporation also has a design department, requiring great insight and finesse.” Monica jibed.
After a few more words, Rebecca kept silent as she tried to divert her attention to her design.
Meanwhile, it was time for Avery to return to Creative Creations. The design department’s employees fell silent. Everyone held their breaths and could probably guess what had happened.
Charlie stepped forward worriedly and took the document bag from Avery’s hand.
“What’s the situation? Is the Evans Corporation really not cooperating with Creative Creations?” Charlie asked, worrying about the failed cooperation of two prominent companies.
“President Evans said that he doesn’t want to see Creative Creations‘ designs in the future. According to Mr. Racherson, President Evans may want to cooperate with Williams Corporation.” Charlie interrogated.
“Wait, Williams you say? Was it related to Emily Williams?” One of the teams chimed in.
“You didn’t know? Mr. Evans’s childhood sweetheart is none other than the lady of the Williams Family, Emily Williams.”
As Emily’s name rang in Rebecca’s ear like a thunder, her hand balled into a fist as her ire fueled. It was Emily again!
