Klaus glanced at Avery with a slightly dissatisfied expression and ascribed, “I let Ms. Gadot in and we’re in the middle of a discussion about the design –
With Klaus’s explanation, jealousy budded in Avery’s heart as she raised the hem of her dress and walked in front of Klaus. “Mr. Smith, what is there to discuss with a temporary worker? And she’s late today. Someone who lacks a sense of responsibility and ethics at work isn’t worth wasting time Avery asserted, her words grated out with underlying disdain.
In response, Klaus got up with forbearance as he replied, “Ms. Gadot has already written a review letter and did work overtime until now. I have already forgiven her.”
“Mr. Smith!” Avery clamored. She could clearly guess that Rebecca had somehow bewitched Klaus, and this was something she could not accept, no matter what. “How can you let Rebecca off the hook so easily? She’s late and committed your biggest taboo!” Avery roared in disdain.
Seeing Avery irate, Klaus had a headache from the noise and warned Avery coldly, saying, “Avery, you no longer have to go out with me.” He then left the office without looking back.
Witnessing Klaus walking away, Avery panicked and quickly regained her composure, but her words and actions were less refined than the calm and collected Rebecca. No wonder Klaus was unhappy.
In fright, Avery didn’t care about finding Klaus to settle the bill, so she hurriedly chased him and shrieked, “Mr. Smith, I am aware of my fault. Please listen to me!”
At this moment, only Rebecca was left in Mr. Smith’s office. She had never uttered a word the whole time, trying to blend into the background. But despite this, she seemed to have offended Avery in the end.
Rebecca sighed, organized the blueprints on the desk, turned off all the lights, and left Mr. Smith’s office.
Inside the presidential suite of a five–star hotel, Klaus discussed project cooperation with Mr. Richardson of Sun Designs and their assistants in the private room. Avery was the only woman in the private room, fulfilling her role in a modest manner where she could talk, laugh, and drink.
When the discussion ended, Mr. Richardson stood up and exchanged hands with Klaus. “Mr. Smith, if you want to offend people, I want to pry Ms. Larkins into our company.” Mr. Richardson jested before he turned his back with his assistant standing at the door.
Avery clutched Klaus’s arm, smiling playfully at the aged man, and reckoned, “Thank you, Mr. Richardson, but I won’t be changing jobs anytime soon. When Mr. Smith doesn’t want me anymore, I’ll come to you.”
“If Ms. Larkins says so, I’ll wait then.” Mr. Richardson blurted out.
Soon after, Klaus and Avery accompanied Mr. Richardson into his car downstairs. Before getting in, Mr. Richardson turned to Klaus and reassured, “Don’t worry, Mr. Smith. Creative Creations‘ designs will impress Mr. Evans tomorrow. Wait for my good news.”
“It’s my job, Mr. Richardson.” Klaus furthered.
After exchanging a few more pleasantries, Mr. Richardson’s time had ended, and bid farewell. As soon as his car disappeared, Klaus‘ eyes grew cold, and he headed towards the underground garage.
Avery followed closely and noticed the coldness in Klaus‘ eyes. She bit her lower lip and flaunted her charm as she asked, “Mr. Smith, are you still mad
at me?”
“It’s none of your business,” Klaus responded, devoid of emotions.
Avery sighed in relief, condemned herself, and resumed, “But, Mr. Smith, you don’t look pleased. Was it because my performance today was not good enough for Mr. Richardson to sign the contract on the spot? S-”
“I said it’s nothing to do with you. Don’t think about it. I can’t tolerate Clark Richardson’s pompous and self–righteous attitude. Do I not have the authority to make decisions? Absurd!” Klaus scoffed.
Avery thought about it and stated, “If we can cooperate with the Evans Corporation, it will benefit Creative Creations and bring our company to its pinnacle of success.”
Although Avery was usually domineering and pampered, she sincerely hoped that Creative Creations would thrive and improve. This time, she had worked so hard to get in touch with Clark Richardson, who was in charge of the design of the Evans Corporation.

If the cooperation could be achieved, she would be Creative Creations mumber one hern, and no one mould shake her status,
“Let it be Klaus spat indifferently as if he was not enthusiastic about cooperating with the Evans Corporation and went inside lils car.
Hearing this, Avery sat in the passenger seat, resting on her forehead. She only had one thing in mind at this point: to ruin Rebecca’s reputation first before she stole the spotlight that belonged to her.
The following day in the Evans Corporation’s building, Clark carefully pushed open the door of the CEO’s office, holling the contract and a roll of designs in his hands
“Mr. Evans, this is the floor plan of the new building. Please take a look.” Clark stated politely.
Without a glance, Chris tapped the table with his fingertips which Clark firmly understood. He strode forward and neatly placed the folder with drawings on the table.
Seeing that Chris was busy looking through other materials, he did not dare to trouble him, fearing he might irritate their boss. “Mr. Evans, I’ll go out first. If you have any questions, call me at any time. I’ll be right up.”
After saying this, Clark politely bowed his head and exited the CEO’s office.
Only Chris put down the information he had just after work at noon. Although he planned to review the document in the afternoon, he was compelled to unfurl the folder and skim the designs inside.
As Chris scanned the folder’s name, he frowned as if he had heard someone mention Creative Creations recently. Although he was not a design major and was not good at drawing blueprints, he could identify the sketches and was better able to pick out faults.
Satisfied, Chris’s lips rose into a thin smile without finding flaws in the designs. It was Creative Creations, the most professional design company in New York. However, Chris’s smile vanished instantly when he picked up the contract and saw who designed the sketches he had in hand. It was Rebecca.
A flame of interest surged through his eyes as he threw away the contract and leaned lazily on the chair. He lit a cigarette and sneered.
At this moment, someone knocked on the office door, which Chris ignored. “Come in!” Chris uttered sternly.
The door was pushed open, and Emily glided into the room with a whimsical new fairy–inspired hairstyle and a serene aura that seemed to effortlessly captivate any man’s heart.
“Good afternoon, Chris!” She called out sweetly.
Chris retracted his gaze and impatiently asked, “What are you doing here again?”
Emily walked over with light and elegant steps. “I’ve made a reservation at Deluxe Restaurant. Let’s go have lunch together. If time permits, let’s look at my blueprint, okay?”
“What blueprint?” Chris inquired.
“Six months ago, the Evans Corporation publicly solicited proposals for new real estate designs from the entire Internet. I signed up on behalf of the Williams Corporation. You even encouraged me to design it well.” Emily chirped, which made Chris’s eyes darkened.
“Bring me your blueprint,” Chris said indifferently.
