“Transfer her to another hospital.”
The five of them exchanged looks again, then hesitantly brought up what Jackson had said.
“We think… his point was valid. Given Mrs. Carter’s current condition, any sudden movement could cause harm to her head and body. The safest course of action is to stay here under observation for now.”
Lucas‘ brow tightened.
“Then, what the hell do I need you people for? A bunch of useless fools.”
With that, he turned sharply and stormed back into the hospital room.
Looking at Aurora’s serene, sleeping face, a heavy exhaustion settled deep in his chest.
