Chapter 101
Abigail was silent for a moment before asking James, “The victim is still alive in the hospital, and the Fletcher family is also hiring a lawyer to mediate, hoping to resolve this through compensation. They say they don’t care how much it costs.”
Upon hearing this, Sebastian frowned and said, “Then why is the Gibson family bothering you and me?”
Abigail felt he was somewhat unhappy and felt quite guilty inside.
Although she had severed connection to the Gibson family, she still bore their last name and had lived with therr for so many years. The outside world knew that the Gibson family had adopted her from an orphanage. This couldn’t be completely severed.
If someone were to consider marrying into the Gibson family and saw their current situation, they would surely back away. No man would accept a wife whose family constantly caused endless troubles.
No wonder Ralph had refused Daniella as his girlfriend. A calculating person like him must have long seen through the true nature of the Gibson family.
“They definitely want to solve this without spending money,” James said with a mocking tone.
Abigail pursed her lips, thinking of what Daniella had said. “The Gibson family investigated you,” she whispered to Sebastian, quietly watching for changes in his expression. “You once entered and exited prison as you wanted–have you been there?”
Sebastian’s hand by his side unconsciously tensed, and he avoided Abigail’s gaze as he said coldly, “The Gibson family actually dared to investigate me.”
“Do you care a lot about this?” Warren asked Abigail with a smile.
“Not really.” Abigail had only briefly thought of Clark. He hadn’t contacted her during this time, and it was he who had sent her the video of Gabriel.
“He used to–Ouch!” James didn’t finish his sentence before Sebastian kicked him hard, making his face twist in pain. He asked indignantly, “Why did you kick me?”
Sebastian said unhappily, “You talk too much. Can’t even shut your mouth while eating.”
Warren said gently, “High–tech companies need a lot of talent. He’s quite crazy–he’d even go after people in prison to recruit technicians. His superiors supported his work, so he was allowed to go to prison a few times.”
Abigail couldn’t help looking at Sebastian. He tightly held his wine glass, took a large sip, and then smiled at her. “Why are you looking at me?”
Abigail said, “Nothing. I just wanted to say that I did learn my skills while in prison.”
She was able to use the alias Iris for her products because, during her imprisonment, she had become interested in C programming language and chosen to work in computer science. She later developed several applications that now had a wide market and had even participated in cyber–wars.
“I heard prisons are full of talented people,” James said absently, rubbing his leg.
Thinking of Clark, Abigail said, “There was a computer expert who taught me a lot. Coincidentally, his last name was also Robinson.”
Warren immediately showed interest upon hearing this. “Really? What’s his name? Maybe we know him.”
“Is that so?” Abigail asked eagerly.
James looked at Sebastian, whose face was tense as he picked up a bottle of red wine and filled Warren’s glass. “Stop talking nonsense. What do you think about the Gibson family’s matter?”
Abigail’s attention was immediately drawn away. She frowned and remained silent. In fact, concealing the real hit–and–run culprit was unfair to the
victim.
But if she released the video, the Gibson family would eventually find out it was her, and then the troubles would never end.

Chapter 101
“I’d prefer to first get what victim’s family wants. If they’re willing to settle with money, this can be over,” Abigail said.
She knew she was selfish, but there was little point in the victim’s family confronting the Gibson family head–on. Their difficult lives were all about making money, so taking this opportunity to extort a sum from the Gibson family would be worthwhile.
James suddenly said, “How about you and Mr. Robinson visit the victim tomorrow?”
Abigail looked puzzled. “Why would I go with Mr. Robinson? And it’s not appropriate for me to visit the victim now. If the victim asks for more money, the Gibson family might think I encouraged it.”
“Shall we help you find out more?” Warren followed her words.
Abigail truly didn’t want to get involved with the Gibson family, but she happened to hold the evidence. She thought, ‘Did Clark send me the video hoping I’d fight back against the Gibson family?‘
