In contrast, Alexander beside Caroline was exceptionally
nervous.
He had never dreamed there would come a day when he could marry Caroline.
After Caroline’s “death” that Christmas, he had even considered holding a wedding ceremony while holding her “ashes.”\
It was the Scott family’s threats of suicide that made Alexander abandon this idea.
Now his dream had finally come true-he was marrying this woman who had loved him for so many years, and whom he loved deeply too.
From now on, he would treat her well and never let her down.
As the priest spoke, Caroline and Alexander were to exchange
VOWS.
Caroline was supposed to speak first, but she handed the microphone to Alexander beside her.
Alexander had given countless speeches in front of crowds throughout his life, but none had made him more nervous than this moment.

Although he had prepared a draft beforehand, when it came time to speak, he could only remember one sentence.
He said, “Caroline, I love you, until my last breath.”
This simple sentence suddenly brought tears to Caroline’s eyes, and she kept crying.
Alexander panicked and quickly pulled out his handkerchief to wipe her tears, but inexplicably saw sorrow in her eyes.
Yes, Caroline only felt sorrow.
If those things hadn’t happened back then, perhaps she truly would have become Alexander’s bride and stayed with him
forever.
But those things had really happened, and every time she remembered them, her heart ached so much she couldn’t sleep.
Caroline took a deep breath and took the microphone from Alexander’s hands.
She said, “Alexander, I have a surprise I’d like to give you now.”
Hearing this, Alexander’s eyes showed a hint of surprise and delight.

But he didn’t know he was about to plunge into hell.
Soon, staff members came on stage, took the USB drive from Caroline’s hands, and inserted it into the computer.
Then, the blank screen in the center of the wedding stage began playing a video.
All the terrible things Alexander had done to Caroline over those three years were gradually revealed on the screen.
The truly cruel Alexander, who disregarded human life, was slowly exposed before everyone’s eyes.
Everything that followed felt like a dream to Caroline.
She saw the guests below first show surprise, then break into heated discussions.
She also saw the reporters first look confused, then frantically press their camera shutters.
Finally, she saw Alexander first show surprise, then panic, desperately trying to grab nearby flower arrangements to throw at the screen.
He roared, “Turn it off! Turn it off right now!”
The scene descended into chaos, playing out like slow motion

Finally, this farce ended with Alexander being handcuffed and taken away by police.
Before leaving, Alexander finally calmed down and looked peacefully at Caroline in her wedding dress.
He asked, “Why?”
This single word drained all his strength.
Caroline smiled. For the first time, she smiled so happily, but
her words were ruthless.
She said, “Because I hate you. You destroyed me, so naturally I had to destroy you once too.
Alexander, let’s never see each other again in this lifetime.”
She lifted the veil from her head and gracefully tossed it into the
air.
Alexander’s last sight was of Caroline’s elegant departing figure.
He shouted, “Caroline!”
But Caroline never looked back.

Outside the wedding venue, Ella handed Caroline a plane ticket
to France.
She smiled and said, “Congratulations on your freedom.”
Caroline took the ticket from her hands and said with emotion, “Yes, I’m finally free.”
From now on, she could only be Caroline.
