Alpha Adrian 63

Chapter63

Alpha Adrian’s eyes were hollow, like he was staring at something lifeless.

“You tell me.”

Vanessa shrieked, snatching a knife from the table and pressing it to her throat.

The Quinns lunged to wrestle it away.

Alpha Adrian didn’t even glance back.

He’d seen this act too many times-same drama, different day.

If she wanted to play the martyr, let her. He turned and walked out.

Alistair and Evelyn stood, their faces heavy, and followed him out.

Vanessa, seeing Alpha Adrian didn’t even pause at her threat, screamed through her tears, “Come back! You’ll regret this! You will regret this!”

Alpha Adrian didn’t look back.

The Quinns pried the knife from her hands, and Damien, after calming his sister, grabbed his secretary and chased after Alpha Adrian.

Damien’s head was pounding. He should’ve never let his sister run wild. Now personal and business were a tangled mess.

And then there was Alpha Gideon, the wildcard who’d crashed into the fray.

Alpha Gideon wasn’t the omniscient mastermind Damien feared.

He’d just crossed paths with Alpha Adrian enough to get a read on him.

Today’s move was partly personal, sure, but mostly it was Alpha Gideon seeing the writing on the wall.

Alpha Adrian’s actions last night and Evelyn’s statement today? Total disconnect.

With Alpha Adrian’s take-no-prisoners attitude, expecting him to play along like a good pup was a fantasy.

Outside Alpha Adrian’s office, Julian and a few higher-ups were waiting.

Elliot tried to shoo them off, claiming Alpha Gideon was taking a lunch break, but they insisted on sticking around, happy to wait.

It felt like a council of betas circling a reckless alpha, ready to pounce.

They’d heard about the Shaloria branch situation, especially about the new secretary, Vivian, who’d earned Charles’s approval.

The name rang a bell for Julian.

Not long ago, he’d been playing golf with another alpha who’d shown him a video as a joke. Alpha Gideon

was in it, sure, but so were Quin’s Damien and Helixon ‘ Alpha Adrian.

Julian and Damien had crossed paths plenty over the project loan, so they were tight.

Vivian’s name stuck with him from that clip-she was stunning, the kind of she-wolf who could bring a pack

to its knees.

So when the Shaloria news hit, Vivian’s name clicked instantly.

Julian had even dropped a hint to Charles about it.

Charles didn’t care one bit.

Hmph. Now Alpha Gideon was out here swinging for Vivian, targeting Quinn for no good reason.

Clearly, he was just another wolf blinded by a pretty face.

The door opened.

Elliot let them in.

The group faced Alpha Gideon, their words polite but razor-sharp, each sentence carefully crafted.

They bowed and scraped, but it was clear they were here to call him out.

Julian even mentioned he’d already reported it to Charles.

Alpha Gideon didn’t snap or pull rank. He just smiled, dialed a number, and put it on speaker. “What’s the situation with the Quinns?”

“Alpha Adrian stormed in like a thundercloud, left with a face like death. His parents went with him. Damien chased after him, and they had a heated exchange outside. Didn’t end well.”

“Oh, hold up,” the voice on the line perked up.

“Breaking news: the Blackwoods and Quinns went at it in the Quinns’ dining hall. The Quinns swore if Alpha Adrian doesn’t bind with Vanessa, they’ll kill the project. Alpha Adrian told them to do whatever-they’ll never get him to agree. The packs are done.”

Alpha Gideon hung up.

Julian and the other alphas’ faces were a kaleidoscope of shock and embarrassment.

After Evelyn’s big statement, the whole world thought the Blackwoods and Quinns were about to form a sacred bond. A split? No one saw that coming.

If they’d released the second loan phase and then this news broke, the project would’ve been doomed-a total loss.

Thinking back on their earlier complaints, they wanted to swallow their own tongues.

Alpha Gideon’s face grew colder.

“Julian, I think you owe Charles another call. This time, you’ll be begging for forgiveness.”

Julian’s face turned redder than raw meat.

He was saved by Alpha Gideon’s phone ringing again.

Alpha Gideon glanced at the caller ID, surprised. For a fleeting moment, his eyes softened with a mix of pain

and warmth.

Alpha Gideon picked up the phone.

With a casual wave, he dismissed the gaggle of self-important, clique-forming execs in his office. They

scurried out like they’d been granted a stay of execution, each second lingering feeling like they needed an oxygen mask.

They were rattled, realizing Alpha Gideon-fresh from other packs-hadn’t just been lying low, biding his time,

sharpening his claws.

He wasn’t the pretty-faced, silver-spooned wolf they’d pegged him for, coasting on family clout and

connections to thrive. They thought they could outsmart him with a little scheming.

Instead, their faces were getting slapped, one after another.

Elliot stood in the corner of the office, dazed, like he was caught in a dream.

“Vivian, what’s up?” Alpha Gideon said into the phone.

Vivian’s voice came through steady, but Alpha Gideon could tell she was holding it together by sheer will.

“So, I was supposed to start back at work the day after tomorrow-leg’s healed up fine. But something’s come up. I need to visit my grandma’s pack. Can I take another week off?”

Alpha Gideon went quiet for a moment.

“You’re getting way too comfortable skipping work,” he teased.

“What’s next, milking that injury to freeload forever?”

“No way,” she shot back.

“Come in the day after tomorrow.”

“How about five days?”

“Not even half a day. I want you here that morning.”

Vivian fell silent for a few seconds.

When she spoke again, her voice deflated.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t realize breaking my bond would get this messy. If I’d known, I wouldn’t have applied for the job and caused you all this trouble. Just give me five days-I’ll sort it out, I swear. Otherwise…”

“Otherwise what?” Alpha Gideon pressed.

five day!!!

“Otherwise, you’ll get dragged into the gossip too.”

The scandal had been raging for nearly three hours now. No way Alpha Gideon hadn’t heard.
