Chapter 139: The Northern Medical Contract and Unwanted Flowers
Chapter 139: The Northern Medical Contract and Unwanted Flowers
(Aria’s POV)
After Isabella Blackwood left the office, an uncomfortable silence settled between Dominic and me. The
weight of her parting words hung in the air like a storm cloud, making my wolf whimper softly within me at
the tension I had sensed.
I couldn’t help but look at Dominic with growing confusion, wondering what exactly this “planned matter” his
mother had mentioned was about. Her warning had sounded so ominous, so filled with concern and
disapproval.
Though curiosity gnawed at me, I forced myself to maintain proper boundaries. This seemed to be a private
family affair between Dominic and his mother, and I had no right to pry into such personal matters.
“What’s wrong?” Dominic asked, noticing my serious expression as he moved toward his desk. “You look
troubled.”
“Nothing’s wrong,” I replied quickly, though my mind was still processing the strange family dynamics I had
witnessed.
My attention immediately shifted when Dominic opened his desk drawer and retrieved a thick document
folder. The official seal on the cover made my heart skip a beat.
“Here’s that Northern Medical proposal I mentioned,” he said, extending the folder toward me with a slight
smile.
My eyes widened as I read the elegant letterhead. This was actually real – a genuine distribution intention
letter from Northern Medical Consortium, the most prestigious herbal remedy distributor in the werewolf
territories.
“This promises long–term cooperation if our first collaboration is successful,” I breathed, scanning the terms with growing excitement. “Dominic, this is incredible!”
The document outlined exclusive distribution rights across multiple pack territories. This was an honor that
even Silver Moon Herbalists, the top regional werewolf remedy company, didn’t possess.
My wolf stirred with anticipation as I read through the potential benefits. This could transform our small
company overnight.
But as the initial excitement began to settle, reality crept in like cold water. A newly established, complet unknown herbal company shouldn’t be able to obtain such a prestigious contract.
There had to be a catch.
“Dominic,” I said carefully, looking up from the documents with growing concern. “What exactly did you have
to give up to secure this opportunity?”
His expression remained calm, but I caught a flicker of something in his silver–gray eyes.
“There was some difficulty involved,” he admitted with characteristic honesty.
My stomach dropped. “What kind of difficulty?”
O

“I had to share some benefits from related pack territory agreements,” Dominic explained, his voice carefully neutral. “Nothing that would compromise the Shadow Pack, but significant enough to gain their attention
Panic flooded through me as I realized the implications. He had sacrificed something valuable – possibly crucial pack resources or political advantages – just to help my career.
“No!” I exclaimed, immediately standing and trying to hand the document back to him. “I can’t accept this. You’ve already done too much for me.”
My pregnant wolf whimpered anxiously at the thought of owing him even more than I already did.
“If you had to give up important pack benefits for this contract, I need to abandon it right now. I won’t be responsible for harming your position as Alpha King.”
Before I could retreat further, Dominic’s strong hands caught my shoulders, gently but firmly pulling me back down onto the leather sofa beside him.
“Listen to me,” he said with patient Alpha authority. “Northern Medical didn’t agree to this collaboration because of any political maneuvering.”
His eyes held mine intently. “They agreed after reviewing your remedy formulations in detail. Your herbal knowledge and innovative combinations impressed their research team.”
“But the contract terms…” I protested weakly.
“The contract offers us one percent of net sales revenue,” Dominic continued, his voice warming with genuine enthusiasm. “But only if our products exceed ten million moon–silver in annual sales through their
distribution network.”
My jaw dropped at the numbers. Ten million moon–silver was more than most regional herbal companies
earned in their entire existence.
“If we achieve those sales targets, both our profit margins and reputation would surpass even Silver Moon Herbalists,” I whispered, hardly daring to believe such success was possible.
The potential for both financial success and professional recognition was staggering. This could establish us as serious competitors in the werewolf remedy market.
“Can I take this intention letter home to study it more thoroughly?” I asked, my excitement building despite my lingering concerns.
“Of course,” Dominic agreed with a warm smile. “But promise me you won’t stay up too late reviewing it. You need proper rest for your health and the pup.”
His Alpha protectiveness was evident in every word, making my heart flutter unexpectedly.
That evening, despite my promise to Dominic, I found myself working on preliminary project panning until well after ten o’clock. The Northern Medical opportunity was simply too exciting to ignore.
By the time I finally forced myself to sleep, my mind was buzzing with possibilities and potential strategies. The next morning, I woke up feeling incredibly energized, as if I had been given a strength–enhancing moonlight herb. My wolf practically hummed with contentment and anticipation.
Arriving at the herbal remedy company earlier than usual, I was surprised to find several colleagues already clustered around my desk area. They were speaking in hushed, excited whispers.

“What’s everyone looking at?” I asked as I approached, setting down my bag and coffee.
The group immediately dispersed with guilty expressions, revealing what had captured their attention. A magnificent bouquet of bright red roses sat prominently on my desk, their vibrant petals catching the morning sunlight streaming through the window.
“Oh my!” exclaimed Lisa, a young female colleague with sparkling eyes. “Someone has an admirer!”
Her teasing tone made several other colleagues giggle and exchange meaningful glances.
“These roses are absolutely beautiful,” added Sarah, another herbalist. “They must have cost a fortune!”
I felt my face heating up with embarrassment as all eyes focused on me expectantly. My wolf stirred restlessly beneath my skin at the unwanted attention.
“Is Alpha Dominic courting you officially now?” Lisa asked with barely contained excitement.
“No!” I protested quickly, my cheeks burning even hotter. “It’s not like that at all!”
“These flowers seem pretty romantic to me,” Sarah commented with a knowing smile.
“We’re just… he’s just…” I stammered, unable to find appropriate words to explain our complicated situation.
The colleagues exchanged more meaningful looks, clearly not believing my denials. Their obvious enjoyment of the gossip only increased my discomfort.
“Alright, everyone, we have that important meeting this morning,” I announced firmly, trying to disperse the crowd. “Let’s focus on work preparation.”
Though I had dismissed the speculation publicly, I couldn’t help wondering privately if Dominic had indeed sent the flowers. They were certainly beautiful enough, and he had been quite direct about his feelings
recently.
But something felt off. Public displays weren’t really his style – he seemed to prefer more private, intimate
gestures.
After successfully shooing away my curious colleagues, I approached the roses more closely to examine them properly. Hidden among the stems, I found a small white card.
My heart sank as I read the elegant script: “To my beloved Aria, love you forever. – Alexander”
The romantic words that might have thrilled me months ago now felt like a cold slap. My attitude toward the beautiful flowers changed completely in an instant.
These weren’t a sweet gesture from Dominic. They were yet another manipulative attempt by Alexander to insert himself back into my life.
My pregnant wolf bristled with rejection at his unwanted pursuit.
Without hesitation, I gathered the entire bouquet in my arms and marched directly toward the building exit. The young women who had been gossiping earlier watched from the entrance with shocked expressions.
“Aria, what are you doing?” Lisa called out in alarm.
I didn’t respond. Instead, I walked straight to the large garbage bin outside the company entrance and threw the entire expensive arrangement inside in one swift motion.
The red petals scattered like broken dreams as the flowers hit the bottom of the bin.

“Those roses were gorgeous!” Sarah exclaimed in horror. “Why would you throw them away?”
“Because they were from the wrong person,” I replied coldly, brushing petal fragments from my hands.
The watching colleagues exchanged bewildered glances, clearly unable to understand my reaction.
An hour later, our company meeting began with much more positive energy. I stood before the assembled team of werewolf herbalists, my excitement barely contained.
“I have extraordinary news,” I announced, pausing for dramatic effect. “We have received a collaboration proposal from Northern Medical Consortium.”
The conference room erupted in thunderous applause and excited whoops. Several colleagues leaped from their chairs, unable to contain their enthusiasm.
“Northern Medical?” Jason Hart repeated in amazement. “The Northern Medical Consortium?”
“The same international distributor that works with premier remedy companies across multiple continents,” I confirmed with a broad smile.
The excitement was infectious. Pack scents in the room shifted to reflect joy and anticipation as the implications sank in.
“This could change everything for our company,” someone called out from the back of the room.
“How did we even get their attention?” another colleague asked in wonder.
We spent the entire morning enthusiastically discussing implementation strategies and quality standards. The team reached unprecedented efficiency levels in our initial project planning, everyone contributing ideas
and expertise.
By noon, we had outlined comprehensive production schedules and quality control measures that would meet Northern Medical’s exacting standards.
As the meeting concluded, Jason Hart approached me with obvious excitement still radiating from his wolf’s
scent.
“Aria, would you like to grab lunch together?” he asked with friendly warmth. “I have some additional proposal ideas to discuss about the Northern Medical project.”
“That sounds helpful,” I agreed. “I’d appreciate hearing your thoughts on the technical implementation
aspects.”
Jason’s expertise in traditional remedy preparation would be invaluable for ensuring our products met international distribution standards.
and solutions, I As we walked toward the company entrance together, discussing potential challe suddenly spotted a familiar figure standing beside a luxury Storm Pack SUV parked directly outside our building.
My conversation with Jason died mid–sentence as my eyes locked onto the tall, imposing silhouette waiting by the vehicle.
Alexander stood there with obvious determination, his amber eyes scanning the entrance as if he had been waiting for quite some time.
