Chapter 129: 1 Hit Someone
Chapter 129: 1 Hit Someone
(Aria’s POV)
“This…” Dominic couldn’t help but frown and ponder, his silver–gray eyes reflecting consideration.
Seeing that Dominic was about to give in to Aunt Sophia’s pleading, I immediately became extremely nervous. My heart pounded in my throat with tension, afraid that he would agree to hire Sadie.
But Aunt Sophia was standing right beside me, and I couldn’t give obvious hints without raising suspicion. Sa
I could only stare at Dominic intently, my wolf whimpering anxiously within me.
Dominic glanced at me, his Alpha senses picking up on my distress. As our eyes met, I quickly winked at him with desperate urgency.
Then, Dominic’s lips curved into the faintest smile, which vanished almost instantly.
“I’m afraid that’s not possible,” he said firmly.
Aunt Sophia frowned deeply, her face showing genuine anxiety. Her wolf’s scent betrayed her mounting
distress as reality sank in.
She had originally thought Sadie’s job placement was guaranteed. That certainty was why she had decided to stay permanently in the Northern Territory.
Now that Sadie’s career plan had fallen through completely, how could she not be anxious?
Aunt Sophia quickly tried a different approach, her voice taking on a desperate edge.
“How about this, Alpha Dominic? You have extensive connections throughout the Northern Territory. Couldn’t you help Sadie find employment somewhere else?”
Her hands clasped together pleadingly.
Dominic nodded graciously, his powerful Alpha presence radiating calm authority.
“That’s certainly within the realm of possibility.”
Aunt Sophia’s worried expression immediately transformed into pure joy.
“Thank you so much, Alpha Dominic! Really, we’re causing you such trouble…”
However, before Aunt Sophia could finish her gratitude, Dominic interjected smoothly.
His smile was warm but carried deeper meaning. “No need to thank me specifically. I’m doing this entirely for
Aria’s sake.”
His silver–gray eyes settled on me with unmistakable affection.
“If you want to thank someone, thank her instead.”
Aunt Sophia offered an awkward smile, clearly caught off guard. She quickly recovered her composure.
“Of course, I’ll thank both of you. Well, you two continue your conversation. I should check if there’s else left to pack…”

With that retreat, Aunt Sophia turned and busled herself with organizing the remaining belongings.
Dominic leaned closer to me, his voice dropping to a magnetic whisper. His distinctive cedar scent made my wolf stir restlessly beneath my skin.
“In such a hurry to move out? Is this all to avoid me?” he asked with knowing amusement.
I quickly glanced around, relieved to see that Aunt Sophia and Olivia were absorbed in their packing activities. No one was paying attention to our conversation.
“What? Did I guess correctly?” Dominic chuckled, his Alpha amusement evident.
“No, of course not…” I protested weakly.
Perhaps because Dominic was speaking so close, the subtle scent of cedar kept wafting into my sensitive wolf nose. The proximity made me feel increasingly uncomfortable.
So I instinctively took a small step backward.
“It’s because something urgent came up on my end, and I absolutely have to move out immediately.”
Dominic’s perceptive gaze swept around the chaotic apartment.
“Your aunt’s family situation?” he inquired with Alpha insight.
I paused for a moment before nodding.
“Yes, exactly.”–
“That’s good. Cutting ties quickly is always the most effective approach,” Dominic observed approvingly.
I couldn’t help but admire his sharp intellect. He had immediately understood my intentions with his superior Alpha insight.
He then shifted topics abruptly. “By the way, have you checked today’s territorial gossip networks yet?”
I shook my head with growing curiosity. “No, what’s happened now?”
Suddenly, realization struck me. I quickly pulled out my mobile phone.
“Is this about Claire Watson’s scandal?” I asked breathlessly.
As I spoke, I had already opened the main werewolf social media application. The moment I logged in, both unread messages and new followers displayed the maximum 999+.
The top trending topic blazed across my screen: #ClaireWatson# (EXPLOSIVE).
Just a single name had caused such massive viral attention? I quickly clicked on the trending topic.
The first post was by a major werewolf territory influencer: #What scandal could actually explode like this magnitude?#
Underneath, there was a picture expressing complete confusion.
The comments below varied wildly, but in summary, everyone seemed confused about the details. Yet they all appeared to have some intuitive hunch about the scandal’s nature.
“What exactly is going on?” I looked up at Dominic with bewilderment.
Dominic curled his lips into a wickedly satisfied smile, his Alpha pleasure evident.

“I had my people strategically release carefully selected information about Claire Watson. This included that prenatal paternity test report we discussed.”
His voice carried tactical satisfaction.
“The released information contains both verified truths and calculated falsehoods. As for determining what’s authentic and what’s fabricated, werewolves will surely make their own judgments.”
I smiled with genuine appreciation, truly impressed by Dominic’s sophisticated media tactics.
What’s known as effective rumor spreading involves mixing truth with strategic falsehoods. If everything is completely true, skeptical people won’t believe it. If everything is entirely false, nobody cares enough to spread it.
Only when carefully crafted half–truths emerge do people become drawn to seek the complete truth
themselves.
Dominic leaned even closer to my ear, his powerful Alpha scent completely enveloping my senses. He whispered in a voice only we could hear.
“Moreover, I’ve already sent verified copies of Claire Watson’s authentic paternity test report to all the major endorsement companies currently under her contracted name.”
His voice carried dark satisfaction.
“Right now, Claire Watson’s biggest headache should be calculating the astronomical endorsement breach penalties she’ll face.”
I couldn’t help but allow my lips to curve into a satisfied smile. Just as I was about to respond, I heard the sharp sound of glass shattering violently on the floor.
I instinctively looked in the direction of the noise, only to see Sadie standing motionless by the kitchen area. A completely shattered glass cup lay in scattered pieces at her feet.

“Oh no, Sadie! Are you hurt anywhere?” Aunt Sophia had heard the commotion and quickly rushed out.
Her maternal wolf instincts flared immediately with concern.
“Did any glass cut you? Let me check for injuries!”
Sadie frowned with visible irritation. She first looked pointedly in our direction, then answered curtly. “I’m perfectly fine. I just didn’t hold it steady enough and it slipped from my hands.”
“It’s alright, don’t worry about it,” Aunt Sophia quickly reassured her daughter.
“You go back to your room and rest. I’ll carefully clean up all these dangerous glass shards from the floor.”
But Sadie remained standing in place stubbornly. She suddenly fixed her gaze directly on me with calculating
intent.
“Aria should also be extremely careful moving around. After all, she’s pregnant now. It would be absolutely terrible if she accidentally stepped on something sharp and fell!*
The word ‘pregnant‘ was particularly emphasized with deliberate volume, as if she wanted to ensure everyone heard it clearly. Her wolf’s scent betrayed her calculated intention.
I couldn’t help but chuckle inwardly, thinking to myself that she’s still so young. Her manipulative thoughts

were written completely across her face.
She was clearly reminding Dominic about my pregnancy condition.
Aunt Sophia, completely oblivious to the undercurrent, beamed with relief. She patted Sadie’s shoulder approvingly.
“You child, you’re so wonderfully thoughtful! Don’t worry at all. I’ll clean everything up immediately. I won’t let Aria step anywhere near these dangerous pieces.”
Sadie pursed her lips with obvious displeasure. She glanced meaningfully between me and Dominic, then turned abruptly and retreated to her room.
Watching the scene unfold, I observed Aunt Sophia, Uncle Robert, and loyal Olivia all actively busy with the demanding moving and packing tasks. Meanwhile, Sadie simply stayed hidden in her room, undoubtedly
playing on her mobile phone.
This girl was truly spoiled beyond belief.
Soon, all of our scattered belongings were finally packed completely. Perhaps the moving truck I had hired was smaller than expected, or perhaps we had accumulated too many possessions recently. One truck simply wasn’t sufficient.
Fortunately, both Olivia and I had our own vehicles available. So we strategically loaded some items into
each of our cars.
However, this practical solution meant significantly less space remained available for passengers during the
journey.
Aunt Sophia and Uncle Robert climbed into Olivia’s car directly. Meanwhile, Sadie reluctantly rode in mine, her sullen mood immediately apparent.
Dominic had originally wanted to accompany us and provide additional help with his Alpha strength. His protective instincts were clearly evident.
But I politely declined his assistance, not wanting to complicate things further with my already difficult family dynamics.
I don’t know if my rejection was the cause, but when we got settled into my car, Sadie maintained a deeply sullen expression. She didn’t say even a single word.
There wasn’t even the slightest hint of a smile on her face. Her wolf’s displeasure was practically palpable in the confined space.
I didn’t pay her childish mood much attention and simply started playing soft background music to fill the uncomfortable silence.
Through my rearview mirror, I noticed that Sadie’s expression seemed to sour even more dramatically. Her face grew increasingly dark with each passing moment.
What an incredibly childish temperament she possessed.
J vehicle! Just as I was mentally preparing to say something diplomatic to ease the tense atmosphere between us, I suddenly saw a bicycle dart recklessly across the busy intersection directly in front of my m I was completely startled and instinctively slammed hard on the brakes. All I could hear was the piercing

screech of tires desperately rubbing against the rough pavement.
This was immediately followed by the sickening sight of the bicycle falling heavily to the ground with a metallic crash. My pregnant wolf howled in absolute distress within me!
My face instantly drained of all color–it’s completely over, I hit someone!
