Chapter 116: Not Blological Parent
Chapter 116: Not Biological Parent
(Aria’s POV)
“Have you finished speaking?” I asked Elizabeth Reed coldly, cutting off her ongoing monologue about family obligations and pack loyalty
My patience had reached its limit.
Elizabeth straightened in her chair. “I guess so,” she replied carefully.
I nodded slightly, a cold smile forming on my lips. “Then it’s my turn to speak”
t
My voice carried a steely edge. The submissive Luna who had once deferred to this woman was gone
“First, I will avenge my mother on my own. I don’t need assistance from the Reed family”
Elizabeth opened her mouth to protest, but I continued without pause.
“Second, the pup I carry is not Alexander’s. Our mate bond is severed. Legally, emotionally, and in every way
that matters.”
Elizabeth’s expression grew skeptical. “Aria, you’re speaking out of hurt feelings. This is just angry talk.”
Her patronizing tone made my wolf bristle beneath my skin.
“Facts?” I repeated, my voice rising. “Let me share some facts with you, Elizabeth.”
I stood up, pacing toward the window. “If you’re so certain this pup is Alexander’s, then you must know something about his fertility that I don’t.”
I turned to face her directly. “Because from what I understand, Alexander has been struggling with conception issues for quite some time.”
Elizabeth’s face remained carefully neutral, but caught the slight tightening around her eyes.
“Why are you so absolutely sure this pup belongs to your son?” I pressed.
To my complete shock, Elizabeth’s facade finally cracked.
“Well, Aria,” she said with a heavy sigh. “Stop being angry with me. I know you took a lot of fertility enhancing herbs to prepare for conception.”
My heart stopped beating for a moment. The words hit me like a physical blow
“I had someone investigate your herbál purchases,” Elizabeth continued matter–of–factly. “Those were moonstone–infused remedies, which can significantly increase the chances of pregnancy
The room seemed to spin around me. I gripped the back of my chair for support.
This revelation deeply unsettled me beyond anything I could have imagined.
I had kept my use of these potent, body–taxing herbal treatments absolutely secret. Even my mother Emily and my best friend Olivia had never known about the grueling regimen I’d put myself through.
The fertility enhancing herbs had been expensive, difficult to obtain, and incredibly demanding on my body.
Chapter 116 Not Brologic
I’d endured nausea, fatigue, and hormonal fluctuations for months.
All while desperately trying to conceive for Alexander’s sake.
And Elizabeth had known all along
My heart sank as the implications crashed over me. She had watched me struggle alone without ever offering support or acknowledgment.
This starkly contrasted with her earlier claim of treating me “like a biological daughter.”
“Besides,” Elizabeth added with calculating coldness, “you weren’t severed from Alexander back then, so whose pup could it be, if not his?”
Her words sent chills down my spine. The casual way she revealed her surveillance of my private medical choices felt like a violation.
This hardened my resolve against my former mother–in–law completely.
“I’m telling you one last time,” I said with a stern face. “The pup in my belly is not Alexander’s.”
Having seen Elizabeth’s true manipulative colors, I felt no need to hold back anymore.
Elizabeth’s expression darkened dramatically. Her carefully maintained facade vanished entirely.
“Whose pup is it then?” she demanded, her voice dropping to a threatening whisper. “Did you betray Alexander’s mate bond?”
I remained completely silent, showing no emotion despite not knowing the father’s identity myself.
After a long, tense pause, Elizabeth stood up with renewed determination.
“I don’t care whose pup this actually is,” she declared with cold authority. “They can only be part of our Reed
pack.”
“What do you mean by that?” I asked.
Elizabeth looked down at me from her standing position, “From today onwards, I will arrange for a pack healer and caretaker to take care of you and the pup until the baby is born safely.”
“I refuse,” I said immediately.
“It’s not up to you to agree or disagree, Elizabeth dismissed my protests. “This is our Reed pack’s pup.” “This is my pup,” I countered firmly.
Without another word, she turned and walked toward my apartment door. “This conversation is over, Aria. The arrangements will begin tomorrow.”
She left my apartment without looking back.
Enraged by her arrogance, I grabbed the cup Elizabeth had used and hurled it to the ground with all my strength.
The ceramic shattered against the hardwood floor with a satisfying crash.
My chest heaved violently, and my heart pounded erratically. My wolf whimpered anxiously within me from
the stress of confrontation.
Just then, the doorbell suddenly startled me. Simultaneously, my mobile phone began ringing.
Chapter 116 Not Biologic
The caller ID showed Dominic’s name.
“Hello…” I answered breathlessly.
“Open the door,” his deep voice commanded gently
Upon opening the door, Dominic immediately noticed the broken glass scattered across my apartment floor.
“What happened here?” he asked with concern.
Embarrassed, I moved to clean it up. “I just dropped something.”
But Dominic caught my arm gently, then took the broom from my hands.
“Sit down,” he ordered softly but firmly. Til handle this.”
He carefully collected every shard, making sure no dangerous pieces remained that could injure me or my
unborn pup later.
After securing all the glass in a disposal bag, Dominic turned his attention to me.
“Who visited you tonight?” he asked, scanning my distressed state with concern.
“Elizabeth Reed came by,” I explained. “She plans to send a pack healer and caretaker to monitor me. She claims the pup belongs to the Reed pack, regardless of actual paternity.”
This reminded me of our earlier bet about Alexander’s persistence. I suspected Dominic might have foreseen
this outcome.
“I believe a prenatal paternity test will change Elizabeth’s tune,” I said with determination.
To my surprise, Dominic chuckled softly. “Do you think the Reed pack will believe test results? They will only suspect you of counterfeiting or manipulating the results.”
His prediction made logical sense, but I remained stubborn.
“Whether they believe it or not is up to them,” I declared. “I will do a prenatal paternity test tomorrow regardless.”
Dominic appeared somewhat helpless at my determination, but he smiled. “Alright, do as you please.” Then his expression grew serious, his powerful Alpha scent wrapping–protectively around me. “If you encounter any trouble during this process, call me anytime.”
I nodded gratefully, “1 will.”
The next morning, I left early for my prenatal paternity test appointment.
The procedure required fasting beforehand, so my empty stomach added to my nervousness.
After completing the test and eating breakfast, I wandered around a nearby shopping mall to kill time while awaiting the expedited report.
ed me–tiny werewolf I found myself drawn into a mother and pup store. The array of baby products cap onesies with delicate moon patterns, soft blankets infused with calming lavender scents, and wooden toys carved with protective runes.
For the first time, I allowed myself to truly imagine my future with this pup.
By the time my report was ready, I was laden with multiple shopping bags.
Chapter 116 Not Biologic
I drove home to Moon Valley Residences with a mixture of anticipation and dread
As the elevator opened on my floor, I spotted several people waiting outside my apartment door.
Elizabeth stood at the front of the group, looking determined.
“Aria, you’re finally back,” Elizabeth greeted me. “I was surprised to find you’d left without any notice this
morning.”
Het eyes immediately zeroed in on the shopping bags in my hands.
“Did you buy things for the pup?” She smiled. “You sweet child, isn’t it too early? The pup isn’t even three months along yet. How could you already be..
Before Elizabeth could finish, I reached into my purse and pulled out the official report.
“I had a prenatal paternity test done,” I announced clearly. “Here’s the report. See for yourself”
Elizabeth eagerly took the document from my hands, her eyes bright with expectation
But as her gaze scanned downward and landed on the conclusion–Not Biological Parent–the confident smile on her face froze completely.
The report trembled violently in her hands as disbelief washed over her features.
