Chapter 37
Ashley burst into laughter. She looked Yasmine up and down. “30 million? You?”
Hayden rolled his eyes. If Yasmine didn’t have such a strong aversion to throwing money around, he’d have dumped every cent they had on Astley’s fa just to shut her up.
The Guzman family had built their empire through mining–they had more money than they knew what to do with.
Seeing Hayden’s eagerness to show off their wealth, Yasmine quickly held him back. “Let’s cut to the chase, Ashley Why don’t you call Sebastian right
now?”
At the suggestion, Hayden cracked his knuckles, eager for the showdown.
But Ashley fell silent. She couldn’t–and wouldn’t–dare.
Yet as she looked at Yasmine’s calm yet confident demeanor, Ashley felt puzzled. Her research had shown Yasmine to be a meek, soft–spoken housewile, competent but usually submissive. But she seemed so fierce now.
After a long, tense moment, Ashley finally said, “We’ll see how long you can keep that smile on your face.” Then she walked away.
“Hmph, all bark and no bite,” Hayden scoffed.
From a short distance away, Nathan kept an eye on the scene. The bar’s noise was a wall of sound, but he didn’t need to hear the words to see Yasmine’s shifting expressions. She was something else. He chuckled softly, shaking his head. “What a spitfire.”
Suddenly, his phone vibrated in his pocket. He glanced at Yasmine and the guy with her, still trying to figure out their story, as he pulled out his phone. “Hello?”
“It’s me.” The voice on the other end was flat, almost bored.
Nathan glanced at the caller ID. “Sebastian. What’s the occasion?”
“Where are you?” Sebastian’s voice was all business.
Nathan leaned back, feeling the familiar coldness in his friend’s tone, “Where do you need me? Just tell me.”
“Find me a designer who can outshine Ace.”
Nathan raised an eyebrow. “You’re kidding, right? That’s like asking for the moon.”
“You have three days.” The line went dead before Nathan could respond.
Nathan sighed, shaking his head. Sebastian had always been like this–cold, demanding, and never changing.
Then he turned his attention back to Yasmine and Hayden. Watching them together, he felt a pang in his chest. ‘I just met a girl I like and now she’s already got someone?‘
Nathan was poring over the 3D facial scan on bi
computer when he frowned. “Why’s his record so clean?”
Then it hit him and he shouted, “Damn! This is a fake ID!”
At that moment, Yasmine’s phone buzzed. She glanced at the screen, then grabbed Hayden’s arm and started walking, her expression turning serious.
“What’s up, Yasmine?” Hayden asked, looking confused.
“Someone’s been poking around my fake (D,” Yasmine said quietly. “Yours too. The IP address is from this bar. We’re being watched, Hayden.

Chapter 37
Hayden stayed quiet until they were out of the bar. “Sebastian?”
Yasmine shook her head. She didn’t know, but she didn’t like being watched.
“Don’t worry, Yasmine. I’ll handle it,” Hayden said, his voice reassuring.
The next morning, Yasmine woke up early and made her way to the path where she knew Mandy would be jogging. She stretched languidly, feeling the morning sun on her face.
