Chapter Nineteen: Coronation Part Tw

Klara POV:
I stepped back from prince Kayden and prince layden. They were scaring me. Why were they making those mean mommy faces? I didn’t do anything wrong, nor did I make a secret stasli for them to know about it. Not wanting to be rude, I apologized.

Prince Kayden and Prince Jayden took deep breaths, then bent down on their knees and came eye to eye with me. But instead of the mean mommy looks they had, they were smiling, not big sunshine–type smiles but small smiles; it was still better than the scary ones.
“Kiki, we’re sorry we scared you. You didn’t do anything wrong we just remembered something.” Said, prince Kayden.
I breathed a sigh of relief. Thank the goddess. If they were mad, I couldn’t ask them about the scholarship. Taking a look at prince Jayden and prince Kayden, they both seem to be in an okay mood. I should ask them now about the warrior Scholarship for I and for them to give him a chance after the coronation to prove himself. They would be really busy and would not have time. Plus, I and everyone would leave tomorrow; I needed to ask this right now.
I shuffled on my feet a bit as I chewed on my bottom lip. Prince Kayden and Prince Jayden said they were my friends, but they were still princes. I didn’t know how to ask them without being rude. Ughh! This was why Rex needed to be with me, but it was now or never. Before I could get a word out, prince layden beat me to it.
“What’s the wrong little one? It seems like you want to ask us something but are scared too.” Said, Prince Jayden
I was blinking so fast at them that my head started hurting. How did they know I wanted to ask them something? Wait? Did they have magic powers or something? I remember once rending in the royal history books that some royal lineages had certain powers. Could it be that these two could read my mind? Without thinking, I blurted out the question.
“Can you read minds?” I said.
Realizing what I said, I quickly covered my mouth with both hands and meeked out a ‘sorry. Both the princes laughed and shook their heads, and then prince Kayden removed my hands from my mouth and bopped my nose. The gesture made me giggle, and the brothers smiled.
“No, Kiara, we can’t read minds or have any specific powers if that’s what you’re thinking. It was really obvious you wanted to ask us something, little one.” Said, prince Kayden
I gave them a sheepish smile and shrugged my shoulders.
It would’ve been cool if that had powers, though. Maybe they get them once they find their mate and queen; the history books always said the monarchs manifested their powers when they’re fully mated and marked. I should ask them when I remembered I had to ask them about the scholarship for II. I looked toward prince Kayden and prince Jayden and smiled.
