Celia’s POV
I turn around to face the room, mouth hanging open to reveal my idea on how to save the former Luna. My gaze
and he interrupts me before I can even get a word in.

upon
Soren
“Everyone, out!” Soren orders and points to the door that leads to the back deck of the lake villa. I shut my mouth, frustration and impatience flooding my body, but I remain quiet and shuffle after the others.
We are scattered across the back deck that overlooks the lake. A mile down the lake sits a watchtower. It is red and white, looming
over the lake. Most likely, there are soldiers stationed there, watching the lake and its surrounding areas just in case someone
wishes to invade or bring harm to the former Luna.
I sigh and look down at my feet, kicking away a loose green leaf that was just carried by the wind
Could my mother’s method work? Was she onto something all those years ago when I was just a small child? I’m shocked that I
was able to remember the small details and intricacies of the treatment method.
“Look at her,” a she–wolf snickers from behind me. I turn around and face them, arms crossing over my chest. “Why are you so
deep in thought, Celia? Does it hurt to think so hard?” They erupt into laughter.
“What can a common girl like you even think of to treat the former Luna queen? Hm? Are you going to suggest that she drink a green tea? Or perhaps you wish that she never wakes up from her coma!”
“Why do you think of me to be so cruel?” I shoot back. “I would never wish harm upon anyone, especially the former Luna!”
“Your idea is useless anyways,” one of them looks at their nails, inspecting them closely.
“Oh, yeah? What have you come up with then?” I step towards them, challenging them. They chuckle and turn to me, finally giving me the full attention that I deserve when having a conversation with them.
“It’s obvious that she’s going to need to undergo a major brain surgery,” the first one says.
“No, no, no! She’s going to need to receive injections! Medicine directly into her veins is the best method of saving her! It’s the only shot she has!” The second one smacks the arm of the first woman. They glare at each other.
The third one turns their attention to me. She crosses her arms over her chest and raises an eyebrow. I mimic her actions and tilt
my head to the side.
“Well? What about you?” she bats her eyelashes at me. “What method of madness so you have planned in that empty head of
yours?”
“Well,” I breathe out and drop my arms from my chest. I wipe my sweaty palms on my pants and step closer to them, the wind
picking up by hair, tossing it over my shoulder. “I think that we, as Healers, should use a mind link to connect with the former
Luna’s consciousness. Someone can use their wolf to heal her.”

The trio falls quiet. They blink at me for what seems like an eternity before they turn to Bianca. She watches me closely, her gaze razor sharp and deadly. One of their eyes widen as they turn back to me, holding out a finger at me.
“How did you come up with that?” She inquires. “How…how did you actually come up with something so…bizarre?!”
“That idea is so far fetched! It will never be chosen over our practical ideas, don’t you agree, Bianca?” the third one asks.
Bianca doesn’t respond. Instead, she begins to slowly step towards me, gliding across the wood of the back deck of the villa. I take a step backward, trying to place more distance between us, but it is of no use.
“Bianca? You know her idea is pure madness! Say something to her!”
“Yeah, Bianca, say something!”
Bianca glances at them from over her shoulder. She stands between me and the trio of she–wolves. The Lycan woman leans down,
her breath hot on my face. I lean backwards, trying to get away from her.
“How do you know of that method?” She questions.
“What…what method?” I stammer.
“How do you know about the Lycan’s traditional healing method, Celia?” Bianca’s question shocks me. I take a step back and look
away, cheeks hot from the confrontation.
“I don’t know what you mean, Bianca,” my volume matches hers. She chuckles and pays no attention to the trio of she–wolves
telling her that I am not worth her time or energy.
“The Lycans and Werewolves haven’t been in contact for a long time, Celia. So please enlighten me…how do you know about that
method? Lycan methods should be secrets to outsiders, especially to a common girl with no status such as yourself.”
“Um,” I swallow the leftover spit inside my mouth, completely puzzled and unnerved by her sudden seriousness. “It’s something
that my mother had left me in one of her journals after she died.”
I watch as Bianca slowly nods. She straightens her posture and the sickeningly sweet smile she wears on her face returns. She
turns just as the doors to the house open.
Healer Anderson and Soren step outside, the sunlight being blocked by the deck’s roof. We all turn and face them, anticipation budding in our bodies, vibrating and feeding off of each other.
“Will it be necessary to receive medical help from other Packs?” Soren asks, his eyes fixated on Healer Anderson. The Healer
shrugs and walks along Soren’s side.
“Perhaps…and if they are unable to help, then it seems that we must turn to international help from around the world. They may
know or have methods that we have yet to try on your mother.” Healer Anderson responds with an authoritative yet calming tone.
His words not only seem to soothe Soren’s ailing worry but also asserts dominance over the other Healers on the villa’s deck.
Healer Anderson turns to the group. Our heads perk up and we greet him with as subtle bow of the head. He rests his hands behind his back and looks down at his, his Healer garb extenuating his salt and pepper beard.

“So…has anyone come up with a solution for the Alpha King’s mother?” Healer Anderson asks aloud to the group.

Bianca cuts in front of me, obscuring my line of sight. I poke my head over her shoulder, trying to get around her, but she grabs my wrist and pulls me to the front. O stumble but catch myself, turning to look at her with a crazed expression.
“Celia stole my healing method! She stole my idea after overhearing me talk about it with someone else!” Bianca accuses me. She points at me and I feel everyone’s gazes turn into sharp daggers, digging into my skin. “She’s a liar and a thief!”
I gasp and shake my head no. I immediately turn to Healer Anderson. He watches me with a perked up eyebrow, his arms crossed
over his chest. I rapidly blink and shake my head and wave my hands.
“No! No, that’s not true!” I exclaim. My attention is caught by Soren’s cold and disappointed glare. My body shudders at the sight
and I freeze, unable to do or say anything else on the matter.
