“You called for us, dad?” Jayden sald.
Both parents looked at us skeptically for a few seconds then dad spoke up.
“I just wanted to remind you about tonight’s welcome party for all the visiting alphas and betas; some brought their families while others didn’t. I want you guys to make sure you converse with everyone. A good king can be approachable but at the same time firm. I want you guys to have that understanding with all the guests.” He said.
We nodded. Dad and mom had run this kingdom for more than hundred years, there were times of crisis, but they always came out victorious. It would be an accomplishment even to be half the monarchs they were. Before we could ask if that was it and talk about our mate, dad spoke up again.
“I also want you both to converse with the alpha of the crescent haven pack, alpha James and his triplet sons who will take over the pack; I believe next year, their names are Kelix, Phones and Helix. Amazing young boys, lots of potential. You both already know Crescent Haven is the strongest after our pack, so make sure you become good allies with the triplets.” Said, dad
Crescent Haven? Wasn’t that the pack where our little mate was from? Curiosity getting the best of us both, Jayden and I simultaneously asked the same question.

That had both mom and dad look at us strangely.
“Yes, a beautiful little girl named Kiara. I believe she’s with Rex In the playground. You could actually feel the happy vibes coming from that angel. Rex immediately opened up to her, maybe their mates.” Mom gushed.
The moment mom mentioned Rex and our little Kiara as mates, our eyes went black in rage, and we both snarled at her, making her jump a little. Both mom and dad were staring at us as if we had lost of goddess damned mind. Realization flickered in both their eyes, and both their mouths dropped open.
“She isn’t Rex’s mate…” mom started but went quiet

Both of them were now looking at us, waiting for an answer. Claiming our wolves down and shoving them in the back of our minds, we gave them an apologetic look and nodded. It was quiet for a few minutes, and then suddenly, mom let out a happy scream, and we were both engulfed in a bone–crushing hug.
Fuck! She was over a hundred and fifty years old, but she was as strong as a crocodile. Pulling back, she had tears in her eyes as she cupped both our faces in each of her hands; dad came and stood behind her; his eyes showed how happy he was for us. Both of our parents knew how much we wished for mate, but dad knew how we felt more intensely; it was a guy thing, I guess.

“Congratulations, boys!” Said dad, smiling and giving each of usa hug.
After another round of mom’s crying and hugs, we all sat down and told our parents how we met her, her age and the dilemma of how to keep her here. I even mentioned my idea about the scholar’s scholarship. After half an hour of laying it all out and discussing different scenarios, we were looking at inom now to tell us what was the best way to go.
“She’s nine years old, meaning it’ll be another nine years till she feels the mate bond between you all. Since your wolves have already formed a bond, letting her leave isn’t an option anymore, as selfish as that sounds. You both could become untamable since your wolves will want to Keep an eye on their teate, maybe if tell her fam… before mom could go on, I cut her off.
