Sebastian’s obsession had reached a breaking point. For the next days, he threw every resource into finding Yasmine but she’d vanished like a ghost
“How the hell can someone just disappear?” he snarled, frustration etching deep lines across his face.
Truman was running out of options. He’d chased down every possible lead, but Yasmine had vanished without a trace. He even had people watching Cheryl 24/7, but her routine was frustratingly predictable—home to work, work to home, with no sign of contact with Yasmine.
Noticing Truman’s defeated expression, Sebastian swallowed his rage and re–examined Yasmine’s file for what felt like the hundredth time. “Get me her pre–marriage background check,” he ordered.
Truman complied instantly.
Five minutes later, Sebastian noticed something off. Yasmine’s records were just too clean–like someone had deliberately erased any traces and re shaped her profile.
“Go check the black market again. These records don’t add up,” Sebastian said with certainty.
Truman immediately went to the black market and found a guy who specialized in investigating people’s backgrounds.
The guy opened with a price of 15 million dollars before saying, “Truman, you’ve tried finding her yourself–you know how much time and resources this
takes.
“Consider this a friendship discount out of respect for the Zimmerman family. We’re not even making a profit here. You can discuss this with Mr. Zimmerman. But this offer won’t stay on the table forever.”
The man never lost his calm smile, making it impossible for Truman to throw a fit. With a frustrated sigh, Truman turned and relayed the news to
Sebastian.
After only a brief pause, Sebastian made his decision. “Just pay him,” he ordered before hanging up and immediately refocusing on his work.
The resort project had hit a major snag. Tieline Design, the industry’s top firm, had flat–out refused to work with Zimmerman Group.
To make matters worse, Ace had teamed up with Guzman Group to handle the resort design. Their new quote was a whopping ten percent higher than the original estimate.
“This is highway robbery!” Sebastian slammed the documents shut. Frowning, he leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes, going over everything that had happened recently in his mind. Gradually, he sensed something was off.
‘The Tieline Design CEO showed up after Yasmine left. Ace reappeared after Yasmine left. Guzman Group landed the resort renovation rights after
Yasmine left.
‘One or two coincidences? Maybe. But every single move seems linked to Yasmine’s departure. Is this really just chance? Or is just Cheryl plotting some kind of revenge?‘ Sebastian wondered.
He slowly opened his eyes, deep in thought. Finally, he shook his head–if Yasmine truly wielded that much power, she wouldn’t have married into the Zimmerman family in the first place.
Pushing aside his suspicions, Sebastian focused on recruiting high–profile designers from outside Beliston to regain control. The Zimmerman family had cash to burn, but he’d be damned if he’d waste resources on the Guzmans.
After finalizing everything, Sebastian opened his desk drawer and pulled out a photo. His brow remained furrowed as he studied the picture in silence for a long time. Finally, he called Truman and ordered, “Bring Ashley here.”
Yasmine was knee–deep in work when Cheryl called over.

Cheryl’s voice came through the phone, sharp with urgency. “The Zimmerman Group just made an announcement!”.
Half–focused on her resort design sketch, Yasmine mumbled, “What’s it?”
“Sebastian is getting engaged to Ashley. The engagement party is in three days.”
Clang! Yasmine’s pen clattered to the floor.
