Chapter 9
Half an hour later, Sebastian found out that Maserati belonged to Unihorizon Group. “Unihorizon Group…” He narrowed his eyes and lost in thoughts. Leaning back, he tapped his ring on the desk.
Truman glanced over the information. “Sir,” he said, “new reports show Unihorizon Group’s heiress was Mrs. Zimmerman’s sponsor.”
“Hmm?” Sebastian studied the file. He didn’t know that Yasmine had a sponsor. He guessed that Unihorizon Group had hidden her after she left. That was why his search turned up nothing for days.
Ashley’s story about Yasmine leaving with a guy echoed in his mind. Sebastian’s face darkened. He thought, ‘You blackened my name and now you are hanging out with another guy? Yasmine, you’ve got guts.
“Do we have control over one of Unihorizon’s projects?” he asked.
Truman nodded.
“Raise the fees,” Sebastian ordered.
Truman got it right away. Sebastian planned to force Unihorizon Group to hand over Yasmine. At least they finally had a lead on her location.
After Truman left, Sebastian picked up the background report on Yasmine. Aside from the connection to Unihorizon Group, everything matched what she’d told them before.
Sebastian frowned, thinking, ‘So Unihorizon Group is your secret weapon? But who is your backer, the heiress or that guy?’
Meanwhile, Cheryl Chapman stormed into Yasmine’s temporary apartment, looking upset. “Yasmine! You can’t keep using me just because I like Hayden and want to marry into your family.”
Yasmine looked completely confused.
“You didn’t know?” Cheryl said, shocked. She showed Yasmine Zimmerman Group’s latest offer, her eyes pleading. “Sebastian targeted me directly.
“Obviously, he finds out our relationship. Do you know how hard it is for an art student to run a company? He’s targetting me.”
Cheryl was the temporary head of Unihorizon Group. To put it plainly, she was a free–spirited rich girl who was forced to take over the family business against her will.
She was Yasmine’s best friend forever, and she had given Yasmine this apartment as a congrats gift after hearing Yasmine sign divorce papers with Sebastian.
“Look at his offer. He’s trying to rip me off. This is way above market price. Yasmine, what did you ever see in him?” Cheryl whined pitifully.
Yasmine patted her back before checking the quote. Suddenly, she got it and shouted, “Hayden! Get in here.” She remembered that the pink Maserati was Cheryl’s. That was why Sebastian targeted Cheryl.

Cheryl stood up. “Then forget it.”
Yasmine was confused. “What?”
Cheryl walked over to Hayden with a sweet smile. “Being your decoy is an honor. I’ll keep Yasmine’s secret safe if you take me to dinner. Just the two of us.”
Yasmine rolled her eyes.
