Chapter 30
Elena’s POV
9:30am. Charlotte had arrived at the restaurant just as I was about to leave. I saw her confidently walk into the small space with dark shades on clenched my fist tight and gritted my teeth in anger as I prepared to snap at her.
She was going to regret wasting extra thirty minutes of my time. Seriously though, who did she really t
think she was? As she drew closer to my table, I noticed something different about her. There were different bite marks on her face, as a matter of fact, I noticed her cheeks were swollen too. Almost as if she had gotten into a fight and someone bigger than her had beaten the living shit out of her.
“Are you not going to yell at me?” She cocked her head to the right while gracefully taking a seat in front of me.
Lignored her and proceeded to ask out of curiosity.
“What happened to you?” I asked in a soft tone.
Charlotte was taken aback by my sudden question. She probably assumed that no one would have noticed the marks but I was a very observant person. I liked to read people’s expression just to know what they are feeling. In an attempt to read her expression, I had stumbled upon the marks on her face.
“I have the phone.” She said hastily changing the topic.
I shook my head at her.
“That does not answer the question. What happened to you?” I repeated. Although I could not help but ask myself, why was I so concerned about her? She deserved the beating and even worse for the things she had done to me in the past.
I badly wanted to mock her for it but I guess my human side was greater than my vengeful side.
“Do you want the phone or not?” She snapped out of me, her harsh voice jolting me out of my thoughts and back to reality.
I nodded my head slowly in agreement, i paused to stretch my hands out and gesture her to
I me the phone.
She slowly placed the phone in my hands with a reluctant look on her face. I gladly recieved the phone and flashed her a grateful smile.
“You are right though. Your business is absolutely none of my business. I hope you have a splend
I day Mrs Charlotte.” I said, rising to my feet.
I slowly began to walk away until I heard Charlotte yell.
“Wait!”
I halted in my steps and turned to look at her.
“What?” I asked with a puzzled look.
“When should I be expecting a response from you? I also need the phone back in my possession soon.” Charlotte said.
I shrugged.
“You will hear from me soon.” I said, completely walking out of the restaurant.
I stopped by at a small bench on the roadside and released a heavy sigh. I fetched my phone out of my purse and gazed at the screen, fifty missed calls from Damien. I was already so afraid of heading back home.
All of this was Charlotte’s fault and I knew if at least gave him an explanation then he would probably be a little bit understanding about things but at the same time, I could not even tell him that I was secretly meeting Charlotte and gathering some things from her. Damien would be absolutely annoyed to hear that I was doing things behind his back.

Chapter 30
I ran a hand through my hair in frustration as I gazed at Adrian’s phone. I needed to think of a way to unlock the phone. The only person Likou need Damien because Well of course, Damien was influential so I only assumed he knew a lot of people with diverse professions:
Now that Damien and I were not even going to be on talking terms. I could not even imagine the kind of punishment he would give to me. The cry th thing I could think of was locking me in the house forever? Now that would be really horrible.
I sighed heavily as I decided to stop by at a bar. As I stepped into the bar I was shocked to meet no one other than Adrian standing at the entrance of the bar. Our eyes met and i had a feeling he recognized me from the party.
“You.” Adrian pointed out with a low chuckle.
“Uhm, hello. Do we know each other?” I asked, pretending not to have a single clue about who he was.
“You can drop the act now, I know what you did at the party. Are you and Charlotte close? Besties perhaps?” Adrian snapped at me.
I scoffed in response, we were quite the opposite, we were enemies. I hated her as much as I hated him and I badly anticipated to see the downfall of them both.
“You are in my way.” I pointed out.
“Oh.” Adrian mouthed, just as he was about to move away, his eyes caught his phone clutched tight to my left hand. I shut my eyes close for a brief moment and silently prayed to God that he would not notice but unfortunately for me, he did.
“Hey, Is that not…” He started off but was immediately interrupted by other people who also wanted to step into the bar. They shoved Adrian out of the way
and I was able to mix into the crowd and step into the bar as well, without Adrian noticing.
I spent a short while drinking my ass off at the bar and thinking about how much Adrian and Charlotte had ruined my life entirely. Now I was nothing but a mere prisoner trying to survive.
After a short while, I made my way back to the house. With a rapid heartbeat, I delivered a small knock on the door. The door opened wide and I was shocked to see no one other than Vanessa standing by the door with a smirk playing on her lips.
“Hey Elena, nice to see you again.”
