Chapter 7.
“Loki, Darth, Anton… I know I’m just the butler’s daughter. I’m not as beautiful as Miss Gadot, not from a powerful family like hers. I’ve always accepted my place and never dared hope for anything
more.”
“Until you three came into my life and said you liked me.”
“I’ll never forget how you abandoned Miss Gadot at the campsite and drove all night to comfort me after my nightmare. Or that time you faked a business trip just to take me to see the Northern Lights for my birthday. Or how you gave up a kidney and nearly died from blood loss to save me…”
‘By the time you see this video, I’ll be standing on the Gadot Tower rooftop. I know one of you has to marry Miss Gadot. But just the thought of you becoming her husband–how you’ll have to cut all ties with me after the wedding… it’s killing me.”
I know you’re being forced into this marriage by your families. You’d never agree to it if you weren’t scared they’d come after me. I don’t want to be the reason you’re trapped, sacrificing your happiness for the rest of your life. So, I’ve decided to end it tonight.”
When the five–minute video abruptly ended, the entire ballroom fell into stunned silence.
Everyone stared at Loki, Darth, and Anton in disbelief except Rebecca.
At first, her mind had gone blank watching the video.
But remembering Ariana’s state when she left home earlier, it all made sense now.
She glanced at the three shell–shocked men below the stage and the elders beside them who looked ready to collapse from rage. She let out an imperceptible sigh.
After something like this, the ones who would struggle most were probably these family elders who had watched her grow up.
Her own parents already knew she was marrying someone else–not these three childhood friends who had disappointed her in her previous life.
Beyond the shock, they’d probably feel relieved.
But the elders who’d been kept in the dark and had been banking on this engagement, would likely

never mention the arranged marriages again after learning what the men had done for Ariana.
Just as she predicted, once the elders snapped into action.
“Security!”
Guards rushed in, grabbing Loki, Darth, and Anton before they could even move.
Their fathers slammed their fists against the table, faces flushed with rage.
“It’s Rebecca’s birthday! You three think you can just ditch her and run off to find the butler’s
daughter? Let me tell you–as long as we’re alive, you’ll never have anything to do with her again!”
The moment they heard Ariana was suicidal, all three men completely lost their minds.
Their thoughts were consumed by her safety. They were desperate to fly to her side and save her.
The mocking whispers from the crowd, the furious elders in front of them, the wall of security guards blocking their way–none of it registered.
“You think a birthday party matters more than a life? If you don’t let us leave right now and
something happens to Ariana, we swear, none of us will ever marry Rebecca!”
With that, they yanked off their jackets and threw the champagne bottles towards the security
guards.
The ballroom erupted into chaos, filled with screams.
As Rebecca watched them break through the guards and rush out without a backward glance, a
bitter smile touched her lips.
Even in this second life, they would abandon everything for Ariana.
She lowered her head, placing a hand over her chest to feel her racing heartbeat.
Beyond a dull bitter and heaviness, she couldn’t feel the pain anymore.
The guests saw the men flee and turned their attention to Rebecca.
“Three childhood friends, all in love with the butler’s daughter? Oh my God, Rebecca must be completely humiliated. How pitiful!”

“On her birthday, no less! Groom’s gone, party’s wrecked. Think she’s about to snap?”
Despite their whispers, Rebecca maintained her composure.
She took the microphone from her father’s trembling hand with poise.
“Sorry for the disturbance,” she said, eyes sweeping over the crowd. “I apologize on behalf of my family for what just happened.”
“That said, I’d like to announce that my wedding will be held the day after tomorrow. The groom is Chris Evans from the Evans family in Los Angeles. We’d be honored if you could all join us.”
