Chapter 84
Doris‘ eyes flashed and she grabbed Vincent’s arm, her delicate body half leaning in Vincent’s arms, her tearful eyes looking up at Vincent.
“Vincent, tell me, why did Rowan fall down the stairs?”
Vincent looks at her with downcast eyes, “It was my neglect, I’m sorry.”
“I’m not blaming you……” Doris tears fell, “I just can’t figure it out, he obviously even called me more than half an hour ago, he was very happy, told me that his Sophia’s mom came home to spend the New Year with him, why…… why did he suddenly fall down the stairs?!”
Rowan called Doris?
Vincent asks, “What else did he tell you?”
“He told me that he couldn’t go back to stay with me tonight, saying that Ms. Sophia was in a bad mood and he wanted to stay with Ms. Sophia.I was very relieved that Rowan was so understanding, I told him to stay with Ms. Sophia at ease, and I also told him that if Ms. Sophia knew that he was so understanding, she would definitely be very touched.”
“Rowan was so happy to hear that, he said Happy New Year to me and hung up the phone.” Doris became more and more emotional as she spoke, and her tears fell like broken beads.
“Vincent, I’m not blaming you or doubting Ms. Sophia, I’m just …… just as a child’s mother, I want to know exactly why my child was hurt, I just want to know the reason… …”
Vincent warmly soothed her, “Doris, it was an accident, don’t worry, Dr. James is already here, Rowan will be fine
for sure.”
Doris cried pearly, nodded her head, “Yes, you’re right, Rowan is so good, so understanding, he’ll be fine for sure……”
David stood aside, listening to Doris‘ words, the pair of brown eyes under the lenses gradually floated up to a touch of darkness.
He glanced at Sophia.
At that moment, the door to the resuscitation room opened and the nurse came out, informing Rowan that he had lost too much blood and needed a blood transfusion.
But the blood bank is out of type A blood.
Rowan has type A blood, and so does David.

David immediately said. Tm type A, use mine!“*
“You can’t!” Doris pulled David back, “Your blood Rowan can’t use
David frowned and looked at her quizzically. “Why can’t I?”
Doris froze, for a moment she didn’t know how to answer.
Vincent also sensed a hint of something wrong, “Doris, why can’t Dr. David give blood to Roncam?”
Doris lowered her eyes, a flash of panic in her eyes.
Suddenly, her eyes flashed and she looked up at David with tearful eyes. “Big brother, have you forgonen? You’re on medication.”
David frowned and locked eyes with Doris.
There were words in her eyes.
David cleared his throat and looked at Vincent, “It’s me who almost forgot, I’m on medication, it’s true that I can’t donate blood.”
Vincent gave a lurch and swept his gaze very lightly over Doris.
“So just wait?” His tone was unpleasant, the air pressure around him gloomy.
Doris shuddered and bowed her head, sobbing again.
David had the nurses identify people from the on–call staff who would be suitable to donate blood, at a high price.
The good news was that all went well.
Rowan was successfully transfused with blood and a slight skull fracture, out of danger and transferred to the intensive care unit.
After Rowan was settled, Vincent remembered Sophia.
When he turned back, the black jacket was lying peacefully on the seat outside the door of the resuscitation room.
Sophia was long gone.
Vincent walked over and picked up the jacket.
There was still warmth on the jacket.
He stood still, looking down the empty corridor, his grip on the jacket tightening
