Twin Princes 7

Chapter 7

I was woken up with a bucket of water poured over my head.

“Wake up mutt!” The guard yelled at me.

I nearly rolled my eyes, why do they always think that’s an insult? Our wolves have a lot of shared characteristics with dogs; although we’re immensely superior, it doesn’t carry the venom they think they do.

I didn’t get the chance to educate the vampire, however, because he slapped me.

“I’m awake,” I groaned in pain.

I’d thought I’d finally escaped this particular aspect of my life, why was this happening again?’ I wondered, feeling lethargic and weak.

I looked around the dull place; the walls were leaking water, the entire dungeon was filled with strange noses from hungry vampires, and I was tied to a chair that was cemented into the ground. Yeah, I wasn’t gonna be able to escape here, that was for sure.

“Well? Start talking! Why did you hurt the Princes and what did you give them?!” he yelled at me, not even giving me a chance to adjust to the situation.

“I… I don’t know what you’re talking about,” I replied, my voice hoarse and sounding wrong.

I felt faint even though I was sitting down, well, tied down was a better choice of wording.

The place I was in definitely was a dungeon, no doubt about it.

I was opposite another cell with a malnourished vampire on the other side and the crass sounds he was making while writhing on the ground made cold grip my spine.

This was the curse with immortality. Without blood, he was forced to endure this hunger for as long as they deemed fit.

“You are suddenly having low memory, yeah? But you definitely remembered all your magic tricks when you were hurting our crowned princes!” The vampire snapped as he walked over to the wall where a rope was hung.

‘I was already tied up, what did he need that for?’ I wondered as my heart beat faster.

“I didn’t do anything to them. I knocked and waited for them to come out, but they were screaming instead, and I ran in to see what was happening. Please let me go,” I rattled off, fear making me sound inebriated.

“You’re a filthy liar!” He snarled as he twisted the rope around his hand and walked behind me. “You lured them into your trap just as your stupid mate told you to and when their guards were down, you struck!”

“I swear to you, I don’t know anything about all of this. Julian sold me off because he hates me. I didn’t do anything to deserve any of this; please, just send me away, I’ll never come back here,, I promise, please!”

“Oh you think you’re smart, aren’t you?” He said with a wicked chuckle. “You want me to release you so you can run off to your mate and tell him of your success, right?!”

“No! He’s not my mate anymore. I don’t feel the bond between us. He’s a terrible person and he used to hurt me. I’ll never do anything for him,” I pleaded again, hoping he’d have mercy on me even though I knew vampires were incapable of that.

“Then why do you still have his mark on your neck, you filthy mutt?” He growled in my ear, lifting the collar of my slave gown to peer at the mark.

Even I couldn’t explain it.

All I knew was that I wasn’t hurting as I was supposed to from the distance of a mate; I wasn’t in pain from him sleeping with other women as he usually did and I felt nothing for him other than indifference. I couldn’t even find it in me to hate him anymore. He simply didn’t matter to me,

But the mark was still on my neck and no one would believe me.

The vampire who was done interrogating me then lifted the rope and I saw it come down on my face, down to my neck, my heart palpitating in fear.

“Please..” I pleaded, tears springing down to my body.

“Shh,” he shushed me menacingly. “This will hurt,” he added as the rope tightened around my neck.

Immediately, I began thrashing, trying to scream but no sound was coming out.

I couldn’t breathe, move, or scream, and a terrifying sound was in my ear out of nowhere, also making it impossible for me to even think.

He kept tightening the rope, making me shake and I uprooted the front feet of the chair from the ground where it was cemented into the ground, trying to save myself.

Right when I was about to give up, he suddenly stopped.

Then he came to my front, a grin on his face like he’d just done something amazing.

“Whenever anyone asks you what happened, you’ll say nothing, okay?” He said, his tone gentle and patronizing.

1 made to open my mouth and yell at him, but nothing came out.

“A..aaa.. ak!” I croaked, making no sense whatsoever.

“That’s what I thought,” he said, proud of himself.

He stood up and hung the rope back where he took it from and came to me.

He moved my long, blonde hair away from my face, that cruel smirk still on his face. He was definitely happy with himself.

Then he turned around and began walking towards the exit, bringing out the key on his way out.

My head, throat, and entire body hurt,, and I could feel myself about to have a panic attack.

“W..wa.waait!” I finally got one word out, my throat hurting so much from that attempt.

He turned around and looked at me, expecting me to say a word.

But I couldn’t.

My voice was gone.

“Don’t worry too much, someone will come and get you. You’ll be reassigned to another job since the Princes aren’t safe around your witchy self,” he said and locked the door.

He kept staring at my eyes as he did it and then he turned around and disappeared down the dungeon hall.

I breathed deeply, another stream of tears leaking out of my eyes.

I felt hot all over, my body trying to figure out a way to help me.

But my wolf wasn’t here and I couldn’t even grow my claws out to try cutting the ropes they tied me up with.

I was weak, tired, and hurt.

So I cursed Julian one more time because all of these were his fault. If he wasn’t a self-centered, ass-licking, horrible excuse for a Beta, I would not have been in this situation.

How on earth he kept blaming me for the mate bond is beyond comprehension. The moon goddess didn’t want him and the Alpha’s daughter to end up together, it wasn’t my fault.

Yet, he decided to punish me with this type of existence.

These vampires were also stupid; if I could actually do any sort of magic, what on earth would make me allow myself to be treated this way?

I guess they just wanted to blame someone for their Princes’ ailing health.

Anyway, as my body got too hot, I knew a blackout was coming so before everywhere went black, I was kind of expecting it.
