On the plane, Noah got a text from his assistant.
It was a photo of my mother being taken to a funeral home, along with her cremation certificate.
The assistant wrote, “Mr. Stinson, I checked, and it’s true. Mrs. Stinson’s mother did pass away that day.
“The autopsy report says she died from being exposed to a high concentration of corrosive liquid–there wasn’t even a whole body left
behind.”
Noah’s hands started shaking as he held the phone.
He was in total shock.
Angrily, he snapped at his assistant, “Didn’t I have someone to get her mother out right away! How could this happen?
“Who was behind this?!”
The assistant paused before replying, “Mr. Stinson, I talked to the people who were there that day.
“They said they never received any order from you to pull Mrs. Stinson’s mother out.”
That can’t be true!
Noah’s thoughts were a mess. He couldn’t figure out what had gone wrong.

Everything that had happened over the past two weeks flashed through
his mind one by one.
At last, he started to see things clearly.
Why had I kept asking him for a divorce?
Why didn’t I panic when he said he’d stop my mother’s medicine?
He whispered with regret, “Adeline, I’m sorry.
“I seriously have no idea…‘
Tears of regret rolled down Noah’s face.
As soon as the plane landed, he rushed straight to the Stinson’s residence.
He had already made up his mind that he would do everything to earn my forgiveness.
But the moment he stepped inside, he froze. My memorial portrait was placed at the front of a memorial altar.
And in front of it were three small urns.
Shocked, Noah blurted out without thinking, “Why is Adeline’s picture there?
“What’s with all this? Take it down right now! Get rid of all of it!”
The servant was startled by his sudden outburst, but still explained carefully.
“Mr. Stinson, Mrs. Stinson, and her unborn twins have passed away. Madam Stinson told us to arrange the memorial altar…”
Noah cut her off loudly, “Nonsense!

“There’s no way something happened to Adeline or the babies!
“She’s probably still angry at me and set this up on purpose to get back at me, right?
“I already admitted I was wrong. I really didn’t know what happened with her mother. I clearly told my men to pull her out of the chemical tank. I don’t know where things went wrong…
“Clear this all away! I don’t want to see it!”
Noah was just about to destroy the memorial altar, but luckily, Sarah arrived just in time to stop him.
She shouted, “Enough! Adeline and her children were already tormented enough by you when they were alive. Now that they’re gone, you still won’t leave them in peace?”
Noah couldn’t handle the truth that I had passed away. He shook his head
in denial.
“Grandma, Adeline’s not dead. She’s just angry with me.
“Please, just ask her to come out. I’ll apologize. I swear I’ll never hurt her again. Please, just let me see her…”
Noah begged with all his pride gone.
But no matter how desperate he sounded, Sarah didn’t even spare him a glance. Her voice was cold as she ordered the servants to send him away so that my children and I could rest in peace.
“But Noah refused to leave. He suddenly lunged toward the altar where the urns were placed, trying to open one-
desperate to prove that all of this was just a lie.”

Sarah did everything she could to stop him, but she couldn’t hold him back. In the struggle, one of the urns was knocked over, and pale gray ashes spilled across the floor.
Shaking with rage, she could barely stand. Without another word, she pulled out her phone, showing the hospital surveillance footage, and threw it straight at his face.
“Take a good look for yourself! See how you caused Adeline and her
babies to die!
How could there be such a useless husband and father like you in this
world?!”
