Woodrow said nothing.
The girl’s eyes reddened, and she looked anxiously at Jaime.
Jaime dreamed of becoming Woodrow’s father–in–law, so he
decided to take a gamble. Gritting his teeth, he continued, “I
heard Mr. Hartwell doesn’t have a girlfriend yet. If my daughter
could win Mr. Hartwell’s favor..”
“Mr. Shepard” Woodrow finally spoke, “I am not single at the

Jaime’s expression changed instantly.
That can’t be right. He had clearly heard that Woodrow had
never been in a relationship, not even had any ambiguous
interactions with any woman.
So why did Woodrow say he wasn’t single?
But no matter what, since Woodrow had already said so, he
couldn’t keep forcing his daughter on him.
Jaime was filled with regret.
At that moment, Woodrow saw that his mother had sent him a
message on WhatsApp.
He opened the chat and saw that his mother had sent a
screenshot from Instagram.
After seeing the screenshot, his gaze instantly darkened.
His mother sent another message.
“Neeta seems to be in trouble. Aren’t you going to hurry over?”
Woodrow put away his phone and immediately stood up.

“Mr. Shepard, sorry, something urgent has come up. I have to
go.”
“Ah? Mr. Hartwell, this–so urgent? Let me see you off…”
Before he could react, Woodrow had already swept out of the
private room like a gust of wind.
Jaime wanted to chase after him, but when he heard his
daughter’s sobs beside him, he stopped, sighed, and comforted
her: “Don’t cry. Daddy will find you someone even better.”
The light from the crystal chandeliers in the corridor dazzled
Woodrow’s eyes. His phone vibrated in his palm–it was a
location sent by his mother, pointing exactly to the club where
Kaneeta was.
He didn’t even bother to get his car. As he pushed open the
revolving door, the night wind hit his face, but all he felt was a
burning in his chest.

“Edmund, haven’t I made myself clear enough? Let go. Move
aside!”
Kaneeta’s expression was resolute, but Edmund still stubbornly
blocked her way.
Chapter 60
“I absolutely won’t let you make a scene again today, Neeta. I
have to take you home.”
Edmund’s fingertips were almost digging into Kaneeta’s wrist
bone, but despite the pain draining the color from her face, she showed no sign of weakness: “Mr. Kuntz, if you keep this up, I’ll call the police.”
“Neeta!” Edmund’s voice suddenly softened, tinged with a panic
even he didn’t notice. “I just want to talk to you. Let’s go home
and talk, okay?”
But just then, a figure suddenly stepped between Edmund and
Kaneeta.
“Let her go.” The newcomer’s voice was laced with frost.
Edmund’s pupils contracted sharply.
Woodrow. Woodrow again!
“Mr. Hartwell…” Edmund’s gaze was almost spitting fire. “This is
a private matter between me and my girlfriend. Why do you
keep interfering in our business? What exactly do you want?”

“Ex–girlfriend,” Kaneeta corrected coldly. Taking advantage of
Edmund’s attention being on Woodrow, she finally managed to
wrench her hand free as she stepped back half a pace.
