Margery’s face goes rigid.[]

Suddenly, I hear this venomous voice: “Callum, I thought you said the company was yours!“[]
I turn to see Vivienne, looking absolutely deranged, straddling Callum and strangling him.]

“You promised me and Eli a stable home, said I’d be living the rich wife life. It was all bullshit! You’re just a pathetic gold–digger! Marriage fraud!“[]

Vivienne has completely lost her shit.[]
Callum kicks her off and struggles to his feet.[]
He stares at her with disgust: “You always said money didn’t matter to you. That you just wanted a complete family for the
kid.”
Even the cops have had enough of this circus.[]
They arrest everyone and make it clear: pay up in full or go to prison.[]
As Callum’s crew gets hauled away, Silas carries me to his car and drives straight to the hospital.]
Turns out I just have surface injuries – some bandages and a few days‘ rest and I’ll be fine.]]
At the hospital, my parents show up.[]
They heard what happened on the way over and they’re absolutely livid.[]
Dad immediately fires Callum from our family business and orders a full audit of his accounts to see if he embezzled funds. If he did, straight to the prosecutors.[]
Silas tells my dad seriously: “Don’t worry, sir. I’ve already blacklisted him everywhere.”
“I guarantee he won’t find work anywhere. He couldn’t even make it as a beggar.“]
My parents look at Silas with pure admiration.[]
They sigh happily: “We always liked you best. Too bad Elara had such terrible judgment – threw away gold to pick up rocks.”

“Thank God you two found your way back to each other.“]
Silas smiles. “I just wasn’t good enough to make Elara fall for me at first sight.“]
Mom raises an eyebrow: “Not good enough? Are you kidding? Honestly, I’d adopt you as my son if I could.”
“I’d love that,” Silas grins, “but then marrying Elara would be complicated.“[]
Mom actually looks disappointed: “True.“[]
Silas grins mischievously: “How about you adopt me and disown Elara instead?”
I can’t believe my parents actually seem to consider it.
“Hey! I’m your actual daughter here!” I protest.[]
During my hospital stay, Silas completely charms my parents.]
I’ve never seen Mom this happy.
While I’m lying in bed, they plan out our entire wedding – date, venue, everything.]
On discharge day, I’m walking out with a huge bouquet, feeling great.]
But right at the hospital entrance, there’s Margery waiting.
She looks like hell – completely haggard.[]

When she sees me, she runs over.
Silas immediately steps in front of me, on guard.]
Margery’s lips are trembling as she drops to her knees.[]
There are people coming and going from the hospital, all staring at the scene.
But she doesn’t care, begging: “Elara, I’m on my knees here.“]]
“Stop being stubborn and make up with Callum, okay?“]
“The police arrested him today. They say he stole money from the company and you’re pressing charges.”
“Please, for my sake, just drop it. You love Callum so much you can’t bear to see him in prison, can you?“]
I ignore her completely and walk around her.
She crawls over to my mom: “We’re practically family! How can you just call off an engagement like that?“]
“I know this Mr. Everhart has more money than us.“]
“But you can’t let money ruin young love!“]

Mom looks disgusted.]]
Some bystanders are starting to get the wrong idea, pointing and whispering about us.[]
Like we’re the ones being shallow and breaking promises.]
Silas laughs and says loudly: “Ma’am, your son is already married. He got his marriage license at City Hall.“||
“And now you’re here trying to get him engaged to my wife?“]
“Bigamy is a crime in this country.“]
Margery panics and blurts out: “The marriage is just for show! They can divorce anytime!“]
Silas nods: “Oh, so your family treats marriage like a joke. Wedding today, divorce tomorrow.“]]
Now the crowd gets it and starts mocking Margery.[]
“So this old lady’s just a scammer.“]
“Has to be – normal people don’t beg on their knees in the street.”
“Already married but still trying to hook up with someone else. What kind of people are these?“]]
“Someone film this and put it online. People need to see this crazy shit.“]
