Callum nods, satisfied. “Now that’s my girl. You should’ve been this mature from the start.“[]
He picks up the boy, takes Vivienne’s hand, and walks away.[]
I watch them go, thinking to myself: “I’m not being mature. I meant every word.“[]
I find a nearby coffee shop to wait for Silas.[]
While I’m sitting there, a breaking news alert pops up on my phone.[]
“BREAKING: Everhart Group heir abruptly leaves international signing ceremony.“[]
My heart skips. Everhart Group? Heir? That has to be Silas.[]
I click the link and a video starts playing.[]
There’s this gorgeous, tall guy on the phone, turning to walk away mid–ceremony.[]
It’s definitely Silas.
I can even make out what he’s saying: “Whoever backs out is a total loser.“[]
The video cuts to a reporter interviewing the other party: “Mr. Everhart left mid–ceremony. Do you consider this disrespectful?“[]
Some old white guy just shrugs with a smile. “All I can say is love conquers all. I don’t feel disrespected at all – actually, I admire the guy for it. It aligns with our values too.”
“We’ll wait here for him to come back and finish the signing. This won’t affect our partnership at all…“[
I put my phone down, feeling all kinds of emotions.]
Silas has been chasing me for ten years, always putting me first. He really loves me to his core.[]
But I was so obsessed with Callum that I never gave Silas a real chance.]]
Now that I’m completely done with Callum, I’m finally seeing clearly.[]
Comparing the two, I finally understand what real love looks like versus just going through the motions.
I open my email and start reading through all of Silas’s messages.
Every single email is passionate and heartfelt. I used to think he was annoying, but now I can feel the love in every word.[]

Suddenly, a bouquet of flowers appears in front of me.]]
I look up to see Silas behind them.]
“Hey wifey, sorry to keep you waiting.” Silas grins.]
The word “wifey” catches me off guard. Still getting used to that.[]
When I don’t respond right away, Silas looks worried. “You’re not backing out, are you?”
I smile at him. “Don’t worry. I’m no loser.“]
We walk into City Hall together and get our marriage license without a hitch.[]
Knowing there’s a whole room of people waiting for him overseas, I tell him to get going.]

It’s getting dark, so I head home with my flowers.]]
But when I open my door, I’m greeted by Vivienne and her little brat.]
Vivienne is lounging on my couch in my pajamas, watching my TV.[]

I’m so angry I can barely speak. Finally, I say coldly: “This happens to be my house.“]
The little shit suddenly hurls his toy at me. “This is my daddy’s house! This is our home! Get out!“[]
Vivienne gives me this fake sweet look. “Don’t mind him, sweetie. Kids don’t know any better.“]
She walks over and just takes the flowers right out of my hands. “Are these for Callum and me? Thanks for the blessing.”
I’m about to snatch them back when the little bastard grabs them instead.[]
He throws them on the floor and stomps on them. “Stop trying to suck up to my mom! We don’t want your stupid flowers!“]
