Chapter 11
The voices of Kaneeta’s colleagues asking and discussing rang
out.
After a slight pause, Kaneeta regained her composure.
She didn’t step out at once, nor did she panic. Instead, she poured
herself a glass of juice and then walked out.
Her colleagues immediately turned to her and then quickly
looked away, though the gossipy looks on their faces gave them
away.
Only Kaneeta and Nyasia had been in the pantry.
A minute ago, Nyasia suddenly rushed out with coffee dripping
down her face with a scream…
It made them wonder indeed.
Nyasia had snatched Kaneeta’s project away, and it made sense
that Kaneeta was upset. But splashing coffee onto Nyasia’s face in
the office just like that? Well…
Kaneeta looked around but didn’t see Nyasia.

Needless to say, she was complaining to Edmund in his office.
As expected, the door to Edmund’s office was opened, and he
walked out, looking furious.
His frown deepened as he saw Kaneeta. He said, his cold voice dripping with fury, “Come to my office.”

“That won’t be necessary.” She stepped forward and stood in
place. “Let’s talk in front of everyone.”

“Ms. Drayton!” Edmund spat through gritted teeth.

He couldn’t believe how outrageous she was–she actually
splashed coffee onto Nyasia’s face!
He was doing her a favor, asking her to go into his office to talk
about it. Yet she refused him?!
Just then, Nyasia walked out of his office. While wiping her face
with a wet tissue, she said, biting her lip, “Ed… Mr. Kuntz, please
don’t be mad at Ms. Drayton. I don’t think she did it on purpose. I
mean, the coffee was hot, but I’m fine, right? It’s OK. Just let it go.”

“How could she splash scalding coffee onto your face? She was
way over the line!” Edmund said in a deep voice as he looked at
Nyasia with distress in his eyes.
Nyasia lowered her head, pulling out an imperceptible smile.

She knew the coffee had gone cold during her standoff with
Kaneeta, which was why she did that to herself.
“Ms. Drayton, whatever grudges you hold, acting out in the
company is uncalled for,” Edmund said icily. “Apologize to Nya.”
Kaneeta walked over to them in silence.
Nyasia looked at her complacently.
She was set to show Kaneeta just how much Edmund cared
about her.
Whatever Kaneeta’s excuse was, he would never buy it.
But something unexpected happened.
Kaneeta didn’t explain at all. She raised her hand and threw the
entire glass of juice at Nyasia’s face.
Nyasia was dumbfounded.
And she wasn’t the only one–in fact, everyone present, including
Edmund, was the same.
Kaneeta didn’t hold back at all. Since he stood right next to
Nyasia, his face and shirt were stained with juice, too.
After quite a while, Nyasia let out a cry again.

“You’re crazy, Kaneeta!”
“Ms. Drayton,” Edmund spat, “don’t push it!”
Kaneeta glanced at him before turning her gaze to Nyasia and
saying coldly, “You claimed that I threw coffee at you, right? Well
then. I may as well give you something real to scream about.”
“Something real? What are you implying?” Nyasia trembled with
anger.
She was about to lose it. She had held back when staining herself
with coffee, but Kaneeta showed no mercy at all. With juice
running down her face, she knew she looked like a complete
mess.
“Enough!” Edmund’s expression darkened. He gripped Kaneeta’s
wrist and snapped, “Come with me!”
With that, he forcibly dragged her into his office.
Nyasia quickly followed them while lowering her head.
As the office door slammed shut, the crowd outside erupted into
chatter at once.
“What just happened?”
“Ms. Drayton was so bold! She splashed juice onto Ms. Kuntz’s IMA

face right in front of Mr. Kuntz!”
“So, what happened in the pantry? Did she really throw coffee at
Ms. Kuntz’s face?”
“Didn’t you hear what she said? Apparently, Ms. Kuntz framed
her..”
“Ssh, keep your voice down.”
The atmosphere in the office was suffocating.
Edmund sat on the sofa while looking at Kaneeta, his gaze razor-
sharp and sullen.
However, she met his eyes, unflinching.
Nyasia stood aside as tears rolled down her cheeks.
After quite a long time, he finally said to Nyasia, “Go and clean
yourself up in the bathroom.”
His office came with an attached lounge with a small bathroom.
Nyasia walked inside after glancing at Kaneeta.
“Neeta, this time, you…” Edmund then turned to Kaneeta.
“Mr. Kuntz,” she interrupted him, “this is the workplace. I think
you should address me as Ms. Drayton.”

Edmund’s rage flared up. “What the heck do you want? I told you already. Nya is my sister, and that makes her yours, too. No
matter what, can’t you be the bigger person? You used to be so understanding. What’s gotten into you?”
