Billionaire’s Secret 8

Chapter 8

Brandon received my “gift” soon enough-a court summons.

I filed a lawsuit against him for adultery, destruction of evidence, and conspiracy to commit murder.

At the court, Brandon’s eyes narrowed slightly when he saw the team of a dozen international attorneys standing behind

He likely hadn’t expected any Selbourne firm to have the nerve to represent me against him.

Still, he didn’t flinch. Instead, he gave me a rueful smile and said,

“Ava, I have to admit, this is quite the surprise. But hey, at least I finally got to see you.”

“Having more lawyers doesn’t mean you’ll win. It all comes down to evidence. And I didn’t do any of the things you’re

accusing me of. So if you lose, you’ll come back to me like a good girl. Deal?”

“No problem,” I said calmly.

Soon, my attorney submitted a USB drive and requested the court to play the first video.

On screen, the footage clearly captured Brandon talking to Bianca in the stairwell that day.

Brandon froze. The confident look on his face vanished, replaced by a sickly pale expression as he turned to look at me.

“Ava, you knew… all along…” he muttered, his voice shaking, eyes turning red.

“I really didn’t know Bianca did it on purpose,” he added, almost pleading. “She gave me a son, after all. And I only did what I did because the doctor said your body was too weak after giving birth to Bella-if you got pregnant again, it could be

dangerous.”

“I thought… if I just gave Bianca what she wanted, I could keep her quiet and keep you safe. Ava, I swear-I truly loved

you.”

I almost laughed.

“Loved me? So your way of protecting me was to cheat, have a child with another woman, and then have someone beat my uterus to a pulp with an iron rod so I’d never carry again? Brandon, your love is disgusting.”

Brandon looked utterly ashamed.

“I never meant to hide Bianca from you… It was my mom. She pushed her on me. I didn’t even want her, but-”

“But you always felt inferior,” I interrupted coldly. “You thought your success came from my family’s support. You hated being beneath me. Bianca, on the other hand, had nothing. She was obedient, submissive-she made you feel like a man

again.”

“You couldn’t let go of your pride, but your ambition outgrew your guilt. So you set up my family’s bankruptcy, secretly took over our company, and when you were afraid I’d find out-you drove my parents to suicide. And pushed my brother off a cliff. Right?”

Brandon’s head shot up in shock.

“How… How do you know that?! That’s impossible…”

“It was me. I told her.”

Brandon finally noticed that behind the lawyers, another man had stepped forward.

My brother-Sebastian.

Brandon’s face went ghostly pale. Terror filled his eyes.

Years ago, my brother had miraculously survived and escaped overseas.

He knew how much I loved Brandon-at the time, I was already six months pregnant.

He didn’t dare gamble. He feared that if I learned the truth-that my husband had caused the deaths of our parents-I’d do

something reckless in my grief.

So even after rebuilding his life abroad, he contacted me in secret and made me promise to help him stay hidden. He

never told me the truth until now.

“Brandon,” Sebastian said, voice steady, “I once seriously considered staying silent forever. As long as you treated my sister well, I was willing to live with that guilt for the rest of my life-even beg our parents for forgiveness in the afterlife.”

“But you didn’t. Because of you, my sister lost her only daughter. She’ll never be a mother again.”

“You destroyed our family. This ending-you brought it on yourself.”

Over the years, with his influence overseas, my brother had quietly gathered irrefutable evidence of Brandon’s crimes. But for my sake, he’d held back-until now.

It was time to seek justice-for our parents, and for Bella.

In the end, Brandon was sentenced to death.

Every person who had hurt me was found and brought to justice. They all went to prison.

Brandon requested several times to see me one last time. I refused, every single time.

Then he started writing me letters.

I had them all burned, unread.

I sent someone to pass along one message to him,

“Even looking at you now makes me sick.”

They said he stayed silent for a long time after hearing that.

Eventually, he signed the divorce papers.

That very night, he smashed his head against the wall and died. On the floor, written in blood, was a single line:

“I’m giving you back a clean world. I wronged you in this life-I’ll repay you in the next.”

But death doesn’t erase sin. It doesn’t undo the harm. I would never forgive him.

Whether in the next life, or for all eternity, I never want to see him again.
