With a heavy heart, she informed everyone, “Monroe’s brother is named Marvel. He’s incredibly smart, and war the years, he and Manre have been taking rums appearing–stways inseparable, like two shadows.
“What?” Aiden was shocked, a chill running down his spine as he realized the implications.
My uncle is actually two people!‘ Aiden thought in disbelief.
So Monica wasn’t just putting on an act. She really thought Marvel was Monroe, just like the rest of them.
This is insane! Aiden couldn’t believe it.
What kind of brothers would actually live a single life together?‘ he wondered, his mind reeling.
Either they’re total weirdos, or there’s some huge scheme going on!‘ Aiden thought, feeling a chill run down his spine.
“Aiden, your investigation was way too sloppy. You’ve been raising those two brothers from the Mystic Sect for years and never even realized it.” Kayla said, rubbing her temples in exasperation.
Aiden was at a loss for words.
He was now seriously suspected whether the Kington Gang was nothing more than a stepping stone for Monroe.
Even if the Flying Tiger Sect hadn’t brought down the Kington Gang, sooner or later it would have been swallowed up by Monroe’s Mystic
Sect anyway.
Suddenly, Aiden was actually grateful that Landon and the Flying Tiger Sect had brought down the Kington Gang.
“Who told you this?” Daniel asked.
Maisie lowered her gaze. “My mom…”
Then, she handed Daniel a small, sleek device that looked like a USB drive.
“Daniel, this kidnapping isn’t her fault. But we should still keep an eye on her–maybe something will turn up,” Maisie said.
“Alright,” Daniel replied.
He held Maisie’s hand tightly, as if making a silent promise.
Landon was desperate to save Amelia and Kimsey that he couldn’t afford to wait even a single day.
The very next day, he let Monroe’s people take him to the hospital to get ready for the surgery.
The technology to implant a chip into the brain wasn’t something just anyone could perform.
Monroe had to send one of his most trusted people to take the lead on the operation.
He figured he had an ace up his sleeve, so aside from making sure the surgery was set up, nothing else fazed him.

He didn’t even care if the Kingsley family got involved.
The lead surgeon was a man in his fifties, named Bill Clinton.
The moment he saw Kayla, Bill froze in shock. “M–Mrs. Kingsley…”
“Shouldn’t it be Miss Kingsley?” Kayla said coldly, fixing him with a steely glare.
He was the one who had implanted the memory–erasing chip in her all those years ago.
Bill bowed respectfully. “Miss Kingsley.”
Kayla gave a cold, mocking laugh.

Tuff silently memorized the guy’s face. ‘So you’re the one who messed with my wife, huh? Just wait–you’re not getting away with this,‘ he thought, his jaw clenched.
They did a full–body checkup, prepped the operating room–everything was running like clockwork.
Before the surgery, Landon even made time to arrange a stomach operation for his mother.
Gloria hadn’t seen her son and daughter in days, and she was in great spirits. Holding onto both of them, she chattered on, “You’ve both been so busy. Poor Amy’s really been working herself to the bone these past few days…”
Landon listened quietly, his heart filled with both gratitude and guilt.
He still hadn’t done enough to protect her.
“Mom, we know how hard Amy’s been working. That’s why we let her stay home and rest. From now on, I’ll be the one looking after you,”
Kayla said.
“That’s only right!” Gloria said with a playful, satisfied smile, stepping into the operating room without a care in the world.
She had no idea what kind of storm was brewing beneath the surface of this calm, peaceful scene.
Aiden watched in silence, and he couldn’t help but feel jealous.
He had never experienced this kind of loving bond between a mother and her children.
In the Kyle family and in their parents‘ eyes, only his older brother Jonny was their real son.
Aiden felt like he was just some freebie that came with a phone plan.
The crazier Jonny acted, the more their parents doted on him.
And worst of all…
Aiden’s eyes drifted over to Kayla, his hands on his knees balling into tight fists.
Just because of Jonny’s twisted obsession, they forced Kayla to stay with the Kyle family–wiping her memory, making her have his child,
and putting her through hell.
Meanwhile, Aiden was treated like he was just some unwanted kid, a parasite living in the servants‘ quarters–completely invisible.
If Jonny hadn’t died, Aiden wouldn’t have had the chance to stand out.

Chapter 299
Suddenly, there was a cough right beside him, and a familiar icy scent drifted down the hallway on the breeze.
It was Night Owl.
Aiden quickly averted his gaze, concern in his voice. “Why are you here again?”
Night Owl shot him a sideways glance, her lazy, frosty vibe practically saying, ‘Don’t mess with me!‘
She sat down next to Landon, pulled her hat low over her eyes, and shut them, clearly planning to nap right there.
Aiden fell silent.
She really could just crash and sleep anywhere, anytime.
Aiden wondered, ‘Could it be that energy and blood deficiency they always talk about in traditional medicine?‘
With Wesley and Morgan teaming up, Gloria’s surgery went incredibly smoothly. The tumor they removed was tested and turned out to be benign.
Everyone finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Landon gave his sister’s shoulder a reassuring pat. “Kayla, I’m leaving the rest to you.”
“Be careful with everything!”
Kayla furrowed her brows in worry, the shadow of her own forced memory loss creeping back into her heart.
Landon gave a wave and headed toward the operating room Monroe had arranged.
Night Owl, who’d been lounging in the hallway just moments ago, had disappeared. No one even noticed when she slipped away.
Aiden’s brow furrowed in worry.
‘So she really is here for a mission today… But will she really be able to walk away from this unharmed?‘ Aiden thought, anxiety twisting in his chest.
