Chapter 805
“Oh, and then what?” Peggy replied. Her expression barely flickered with the slightest hint of emotion as she looked at Donald,
“If it weren’t for those of us who care about Jennifer, she would have died! Don’t you think you owe Jennifer an apology?” Donald pressed.
Peggy’s lips twitched. “Why should I apologize? Jennifer was just too weak. She couldn’t handle it and brought it on herself.”
“You!” Donald’s eyes instantly turned red with emotion. He had never seen a mother like this before. Not once in his whole life had he ever
known a mother who could be so heartless to her own child.
“Let me tell you, what you did is basically murder. You’ve left her with a scar she’ll carry for life. You have to face her and clear the air,” Donald shouted.
Jonathan, standing to the side, heard every word Donald said. He noticed that Donald’s eyes had turned red.
Donald continued, “You might not love your daughter, but I do! You don’t care if she lives, but I do! If you don’t apologize to Jennifer, I’m not letting this slide. I’ll be back to see you, and I won’t let you off easily!”
Donald barely got so emotional. Then he finally put down the receiver.
He walked over to Jonathan and said with a flush, “Sorry you had to see me lose it like that, Jonathan. I just got so mad.”
Jonathan said, “Your threats don’t even faze her. She’s not going to listen to you.”
Donald replied seriously, “Then I’ll just show up every single day and bug her until she apologizes to Jennifer.”
Jonathan shot Donald a look like he was dealing with a child. He thought, ‘Seriously? Harass her every day? How childish. This is the police station.‘
“Didn’t you two get divorced?” Jonathan asked.
“How did you know?” Donald was caught off guard.
“Even Grandpa knows. The whole family’s heard about it,” Jonathan replied.
“Oh.” Donald lowered his head. “I told my dad about it. I guess he told everyone.”
It was bound to come out sooner or later. Something as big as a divorce couldn’t stay
hidden.
Jonathan stared at Donald and said, “Why did you get divorced?” He thought, ‘Weren’t they two fine after we saved Jennifer that day?‘
Donald said, “Actually, we had gone to the courthouse and gotten divorced before Jennifer tried to commit suicide. There are just some things I can’t let go of.”
Jonathan frowned but didn’t press further. He glanced at his watch and said, “I need to get back to the hospital, so you’ll have to head back on your own.”
Meanwhile, Teresa was still waiting at the hospital for Michael, but Michael never showed up. She thought, ‘Didn’t Jonathan say Benny would bring Mike over?‘
She made a call and found out Benny had already taken Mike to the Lynn residence. Benny explained that Jonathan’s grandfather wanted to see Mike, so Jonathan had asked him to drop Mike off there first and then bring him to Teresa later.

“What?! Okay, I got it. I’m heading over to pick up Mike right now,” Teresa said.
Benny hadn’t expected Teresa to freak out like that. “His grandpa will definitely take good care of him. You really don’t have to worry,” he assured her.
“I know he is nice, but there are other people at the Lynn residence. Mike gets nervous around strangers, so I have to pick him up.” Teresa insisted.
Teresa didn’t say anything else, but she was still uneasy. After hanging up, she ignored the bodyguards at the door and tried to leave the hospital. She said she had already recovered and could go wherever she wanted.
The bodyguards blocked her way. “Sorry, Ms. Johnston, but without Mr. Lynn’s permission, you’re not allowed to take even a single step out of the hospital. Please don’t make things difficult for us.”
“Fine, I’ll call him myself and talk to him,” Teresa snapped.
