Willow clung desperately to her veil, refusing to let anyone near.
“Damien promised to marry me! No one can separate us!”
Her eyes were fixed on Damien, full of desperate hope.
And I was just waiting for her to be exposed by everyone, for her to experience firsthand the pain I endured in my previous life.
The next second, a low growl suddenly echoed from the doorway.
“Who told you to touch her?”
In an instant, everyone was stunned.
The man who had been lying in bed, sustained by a breathing machine, was now walking briskly
towards them.
“Young Master Blackwood is awake! Wasn’t he in a coma?”
“I heard Willow tried many folk remedies. I can’t believe she actually cured him when so many
specialists were helpless!”
“It looks like she really is going to be Mrs. Blackwood.”
Mrs. Blackwood’s face showed undisguised joy.
Willow savagely pushed away the bodyguards restraining her and threw herself at Damien.
“Damien, they were all bullying me when you weren’t here…”
Damien gently embraced her.
“Don’t cry. With me here, no one will dare bully you again.”

He tightened his arm, holding Willow tightly against him.
Damien looked around at the guests and announced solemnly, “The wedding continues! I am marrying Willow!”
The wedding began. Willow linked arms with Damien, looking at me with triumph and mockery.
She curled her lips, silently telling me, “You lost.”
I just glanced up at the time.
Laugh now.
Soon enough, you’ll be crying.
Suddenly, Damien Blackwood’s face drastically changed. His entire body began to tremble violently.
He fell heavily to the ground, curling up in agony.
Most horrifyingly, a repulsive, yellowish–white pus oozed from beneath his cuff.
Then, thin, white maggots squirmed frantically, crawling out.
The banquet hall erupted into chaos, screams echoing one after another.
“Oh my God, Young Master Blackwood’s hand! It’s growing worms!”
“What’s happening? It’s festering!”
Some women were scared to tears. Guests recoiled, pulling out their phones to take pictures.
Mrs. Blackwood’s face went ashen. She stumbled to her feet.
Upon seeing Damien’s arm, she fainted directly.
Willow, seeing the rotting flesh on his hand, instantly stiffened, retreating several steps in horror.
“Why is this happening? Wasn’t it a special antidote…”
I looked at her, smirking inwardly.

The scene was pure chaos. Doctors rushed forward to examine Damien.
He rolled up Damien’s sleeve; his entire arm was completely, and even his chest had bloody, festering holes.
“Young Master Blackwood, this looks like poisoning…”
Mrs. Blackwood, just roused, heard the news and instantly burst into tears.
“How could this happen? Weren’t Damien’s toxins under control?”
Willow, by now, was scared out of her wits, lowering her head and frantically backing away, trying to
hide in the crowd.
Unfortunately, just as she tried to slip away, Julian Vance blocked her path.
“Trying to run?”
“You’ve been personally taking care of Damien Blackwood. You must know why he’s poisoned!”
Willow’s eyes were filled with terror. She could no longer maintain her usual composure and burst
into hysterical tears.
“It’s not my fault! It’s… it’s the folk mystic! He said if Young Master Blackwood took those pills, he’d be revived, he’d definitely be fine!”
The doctor coldly cut her off.
“Then that’s it. That poison was mixed with a special stimulant. It can temporarily restore a person’s mobility, but the toxins will directly corrode their flesh and blood.”
He pointed at Damien’s agonizing state.
“It starts from the arm, gradually spreads upwards, then to the chest, lower abdomen, until the entire person rots into a putrid mess, eventually dying of organ failure.”
