Chapter 9
As Lincoln tried to say something else, Grandma pushed another person forward.
Seeing that face made my heart sink with sadness.
“Sorry I’m late-had to go catch this kid first.”
Grandma pushed Marcus in front of me and smiled:
“Confess yourself.”
Marcus trembled, not daring to look me in the eyes.
“I’m sorry. Lincoln introduced us. He told me to seduce you so we could split your money together.”
“He said you were a motherless girl and we could easily take everything from you…”
The doctors in the hospital looked at him in disbelief.
Their gazes kept shifting between all of us.
There was sympathy and disbelief, all eventually turning into contempt for Marcus and Lincoln.
“That’s disgusting-how could anyone do such a thing!”
Grandma hugged me and announced to the camera:
“My fifty percent shares, plus the ten percent being reclaimed from Lincoln, will all go to my granddaughter.”
“She is the future CEO of Rodriguez Industries!”
Lincoln couldn’t accept this outcome.
He went crazy, screaming and shouting in the hospital.
Suddenly remembering something, his face lit up with a smug smile:
“Old lady, so what if I don’t have shares?”
“I have a son-that’s my legacy!”
Grandma looked at him strangely.
Her gaze shifted to Quinn, who’d been silent behind him, and her face showed understanding.
She said casually:
“Little Lincoln, do you remember over twenty years ago, after my daughter got pregnant?”
“To reassure us, you had a vasectomy.”
“You bribed a doctor to fake the procedure, but my daughter found out and switched doctors on you.”
Grandma coughed knowingly.
“All these years, you’ve had plenty of mistresses, but not one got pregnant. Didn’t you ever wonder why?”
Chapter 9
Lincoln’s eyes widened.
He looked at Quinn, then at Marcus whose gaze was shifty.
He understood everything now.
He’d risked losing everything, only to end up raising another man’s wife!
نه
A massive betrayal weighed on him until he could barely breathe.
Lincoln flew into a rage and raised his fist toward Quinn, but the strong young Marcus knocked him to the ground.
I delivered the final blow:
“Oh, and I reported my mother’s missing jewelry to the police. There was a hidden camera in his room that should have caught
whoever took them.”
“Remember to pay
Mr. Ashford.”
After that day, many netizens privately messaged me with apologies.
Others continued sending abusive messages, sharing screenshots of me being stripped that day.
I collected all the evidence and gave it to my lawyer, making a nice profit from defamation settlements.
After Lincoln compensated my family for damages, he had just enough money left to live on.
But he and Quinn were still legally married, so he had to support her.
After giving birth, Quinn actually ran away from the hospital with Marcus that same day, leaving Lincoln with just the baby.
With nowhere to turn, he came crawling back asking me to take him in.
Of course I wouldn’t let him have his way.
I set the security guards on him, letting several strong bodyguards beat him until he howled.
After inheriting the company, I fired those employees who had blindly slandered me alongside Quinn that day.
Some of them were still defiant, shouting at me:
“You can’t prove you weren’t the mistress-why blame us for slandering you?”
While sending them legal notices, I replied:
“When I’m being slandered, I never need to prove my innocence.”
“The ones who should apologize are those who maliciously spread rumors and hurt others!”
The summer breeze was perfect.
I went to my mother’s grave to leave flowers.
“Mom, your daughter has really grown up this time.”
