“Save your apologies,” Skylar interjected sharply. “I don’t need them.“Skylar thought bitterly, ‘The damage is done. What good is an apology now? Thank goodness for my quick reflexes and basic self–defense skills. Otherwise, I would be the one lying on the floor, completely embarrassed right now.‘ Skylar was alone, and no one would come to her defense.
Juelz was fuming over her attitude, but with Yosef present, he suppressed his anger. Forcing a smile, he said, “We were wrong, so naturally, we should apologize. Aimz, why are you just standing there? Please apologize now!”
Aimee hated her nickname more than ever. ‘I’m not apologizing to her,‘ she thought with disdain. ‘Who does this nobody think she is? She just showed up, clueless and dramatic, refusing to move on. You want me to beg for forgiveness? Fat chance!‘ she thought scornfully.
Aimee stood firmly in place, unwilling to move an inch. Juelz cleared his throat pointedly, signaling her to apologize immediately. Aimee shot him a defiant glare.
Sighing in frustration, Juelz said, “Aimz, please be reasonable.”
“Juelz, that bitch is intentionally provoking us! She wants to humiliate us–I’ll never apologize to her!”
Juelz raised his hand and slapped his insolent sister. “Aimee, how dare you! I brought you here to apologize to her. What on earth are you doing now?”
Aimee clutched her stinging cheek, tears streaming down her face. “You hit me?” she gasped in disbelief. “You’ve never struck me before! How could you do this over her?”
She turned to Skylar and shouted, “You did this! It’s all your fault! If it weren’t for you, my brother would never have hit me. I hope you suffer from this!” After throwing those insults, Aimee spun on her heel and stormed out.
Juelz couldn’t stop her in time–he was left to deal with the chaos she created. He bowed deeply to Skylar and said, “I’m truly sorry–my sister has been spoiled. Please allow me to apologize on her behalf.“.
“I’ve already told you it’s unnecessary, yet you insisted on forcing this apology on me,” Skylar said coldly, showing no sympathy whatsoever. In her view, if Aimee had ended up like this, it was entirely the result of their family’s poor upbringing–they had no one to blame but themselves.
They have no one to blame but themselves–if they had raised her properly from the beginning, they wouldn’t be suffering now. ‘He’s no saint either, Skylar thought bitterly, vividly remembering how he had tried to frame her on the balcony.
Juelz even colluded with others to apply public pressure on Skylar, attempting to force her to confess and apologize to the very person who had harmed her. ‘If it hadn’t been for the surveillance footage, who knows how much longer I would have had to deal with them,’ Skylar wondered.
Skylar shot him a frosty glare. “Even if you apologize, I won’t accept it. What’s the point?”
Juelz forced a wry smile. “We still want to show you our sincerity, but my sister…”
“Is this your idea of an apology? You come here to insult me to my face?” Skylar retorted, her voice laced with sarcasm. “Now that’s what I call a truly bizarre apology,” she added with a sharp edge to her tone. “I wish you hadn’t even bothered to come.”
Juelz was frustrated by her constant nitpicking, but managed to maintain a polite smile. “I’ll ensure she receives the proper discipline.”
“Discipline her if you can; otherwise, there are plenty of others who would be happy to teach her a lesson,” Skylar said.
Juelz said through clenched teeth, “You’re right.”

Skylar noticed the annoyance in Juelz’s eyes, but she chose to ignore it. “Since you agree with me, Mr. Castillo, please make sure to discipline your sister appropriately,” she said coolly.
Juelz looked at her and asked, “What’s your name?”
“You don’t need to worry about it,” Skylar replied.
“Don’t overthink it,” he said. “I mean no offense–I’m just asking so my sister and I can come by to offer you a formal and sincere apology in person.”
He couldn’t help but wonder, ‘What kind of family does she come from that gives her the courage to stand up to the Castillo family?‘ Juelz thought, ‘If she’s just some nobody, then defeating her wouldn’t matter, would it?‘
