Chapter 9 A New Life
“Didn’t you just say that?” I asked.
“Get married and live out your life in peace and happiness. I’m doing this for your own good. You should be thankful.” I repeated exactly what she said to me.
Just like in my last life, Jason began bothering me not long after I started working at the factory.
After what I had been through, I knew he was wanted in other cities for attempted kidnappings.
He was actually in hiding this whole time.
After I threatened him with that information in mind, he did not dare to bother me at all.
“Y–You set me up!” Mom’s eyes went wide as realization finally struck her.
“How did I set you up? You were the one to invite him, right? You even negotiated the money on your own.”
Jason’s bride was her instead of me. That was all.
Then, I ignored her and looked at Jason.
“She’s your wife now. You can take her away.”
Jason had already paid me, so he did not dally at all. He grabbed some rope and tied Mom up.
She kept struggling and screaming, but she was not strong enough to fight him. Soon, her screams were muffled as she was gagged.
I walked into the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of wine from the cabinets that looked exactly like the bottle of wine on the table.
“This is the wine you spiked last night. I kept it for you. Have some before you go.”
She had personally spiked the wine with a drug last night.
She thought I was ignorant, but in reality, I swapped the bottles around after she was done.
Jason was afraid she would run, so he opened the bottle and forced her to drink from it.
Mom kept gagging and coughing to stop herself from drinking any, but she still could not prevent all of the wine from going
down her throat.
After a while, she was too weak to even struggle.
As she realized she was going to be dragged away, Mom finally knew fear. She decided to beg me for help one more time in a soft and pleading voice.
“I’m your mom! You can’t do this to me…”
When they sold me to Jason in my last life, I begged her as well.
That was because Mom was a woman. I was born from her. No matter what, she should have some sympathy for me.
However, all she said was…
“We’re marrying you off for you to live a better life. Why are you so greedy?”
I repeated the exact words she said to me.
As I watched her get carried away, I continued in my thoughts…
‘I actually knew all of you could hear my thoughts. Whether it was about you and Mr. Warner or Jason, I deliberately thought

about them.‘
‘You can enjoy your life now.‘
‘Farewell.‘
Mom’s eyes went wide with disbelief.
She thought the ability to hear my thoughts was a miracle and blessing for her.
Unbeknownst to her, this new life of mine was a blessing for me.
Mom was taken away.
A few days after she left, Mr. Warner dropped by.
When I told him she was married again, he slipped away in disappointment without saying another word.
As for me, I sold the place and moved away from that city.
From then on, I could start my new life without worries.
After I was kidnapped in my last life, I was kept in a village where I had to take care of the son of one of the families as their slave.
The couple of the household adored their son, and I craved that love. I wanted that adoring family.
Later on, I found a chance to escape from the village.
I spent over a decade roaming the nation in search of my own family.
I only found out the truth after I died.
There was no such thing as an abduction.
My family was going through hard times, so my parents were not happy with a daughter.
When I was three, Mom got pregnant with Alex.
Thus, she sold me to the human traffickers.
What a joke. The family I longed for my whole life never existed.
Still, that was no longer important.
I did not care now.
All I wanted was to live a good life from now on. That was enough for me.
