Chapter 1: She Got Out, and He Still Wouldn’t Let Her Go
As Ella Rossi limped out of the prison, Liam Byrne was leaning against a Cayenne, sizing her up.
The oversized T–shirt hung loosely on her frame. As the cold wind blew, her gaunt body was fully exposed.
She kept her head down, hobbling along the wall.
Liam’s gaze swept over her legs. When she finally shuffled in front of him, he grabbed her arm with
a cold sneer.
“Three years in the slammer and you still love to act. Guess you haven’t learned your lesson. Maybe a few more years inside will do the trick.”
Ella’s heart unexpectedly ached. Before she could explain, her body instinctively dropped to the ground with a thud.
“Thump. Thump. Thump…”
She kowtowed desperately, trembling and begging for mercy.
“I’m sorry, master. I have angered the master…”
“Please don’t lock me up, master. Your little slave will do anything.”
Ella crawled pathetically to his shoes, sticking out her tongue to lick them.
Liam yanked his foot away, stepping back with disgust in his eyes.
“Ella, what the hell is wrong with you?!”
His gaze was like that of a cold, venomous snake, making Ella shake with fear.
She recalled her experiences of being abused by the inmates–at times like this, it meant they were
about to punish her.

She reflexively started to lift her T–shirt.
Liam violently pulled her up from the ground, his face black as ink as he gritted his teeth.
“Ella! It’s just me here. What the fuck are you playing at?”
The pain in her arm instantly brought Ella to her senses. She stared blankly at the man in front of
her.
She finally recognized him. This is the fiancé she had loved for seven whole years.
The same man who personally sent her to prison.
Thinking of her actions just now, she felt an indescribable embarrassment.
She swallowed hard, her lips moving slightly, wanting to explain that her earlier behavior wasn’t an act, but a survival habit developed from years of torture.
But before she could speak, Liam impatiently cut her off, “Enough. If you’re not crazy, get in the car. Natalie’s birthday party is about to start.”
Ella froze, a surge of sky–high anger welling up inside her.
Three years ago to this day, Natalie, who had disappeared for an entire day, suddenly barged in
disheveled and covered in blood.
Without a word, she knelt in front of Ella and desperately begged for mercy, “Ella, I’ll listen to you and get the hell out of the Rossi family. Just please, don’t let those hobos rape me anymore, okay…?”
In the chaos, Natalie’s hand gripped Ella’s arm tightly, whispering in her ear.
“Bitch, I’ll make sure you’re gone today.”
Before Ella could react, Liam had her pinned to the ground in rage.
Flawless evidence was thrown in her face. Everyone believed Natalie’s lies. Everyone stood on
Natalie’s side.
The Rossi family personally sent Ella to prison. That day marked the beginning of all of Ella’s

nightmares.
Electric shocks, whippings, even indefinite solitary confinement. When hungry, she could only eat
rancid food. When thirsty, she could only bite her arm and drink her own blood.
In those three years, she broke down several times, even wanting to die.
But whenever she thought of Natalie’s triumphant face after her death, she gritted her teeth and
persevered.
If she died, no one would grieve.
But by living, she would make everyone miserable.
“Get in the car!”
Seeing Ella still frozen in place, Liam impatiently reached out and shoved her.
Ella was unexpectedly pushed into the car, her baggy pant legs rolling up to her knees, revealing the
hideous scars coiled around her ankles.
Liam’s eyes swept over them, but he paid no mind, coldly instructing the driver to hurry up.
The car swerved sharply. Ella’s unsteady body swayed violently, causing her to uncontrollably fall
towards Liam’s feet.
Liam’s arm shot out, instinctively grabbing her waist.
The warm touch on his palm startled him. Then, as if realizing something, his eyes darkened. He pushed her away almost brutally.
“Three years in prison and you’ve got even more tricks up your sleeve.”
“What, acting crazy didn’t work, so now you’re throwing yourself at me?”
He leaned in menacingly, his fingers gripping her chin harshly, his voice suddenly rising, “Ella, are
you that desperate?”
Liam’s voice made Ella’s scalp go numb. She tried desperately to suppress her instinct to beg for

mercy, but still couldn’t hold back.
Her nails dug deep into her own arm, “I’m sorry, I’m sorry! Please… please don’t hit me. I’ll be very good and obedient…”
“I admit my mistake! It’s all my fault! I shouldn’t have hurt anyone. I really know I was wrong!”
Fearing the person in front of her wouldn’t believe she had repented, she suddenly raised her hand and slapped herself hard across the face.
“Slap!”
The crisp sound of the slap exploded in the car. Hideous finger marks immediately appeared on her pale skin. But she bit her lower lip tightly, not daring to let out a single cry of pain.
Seeing her getting more and more vicious, Liam’s breathing became erratic, his Adrian’s apple
bobbing violently.
Finally unable to bear it, he stepped forward and grabbed her hand, “Enough! Shut up!”
