Chapter 640
Hayden answered, “Jennifer told me everything when I went for my checkup.”
Werner’s face went dark, anger burning in his eyes.
“Well, there it is,” Irene said with a nasty laugh. “I was wondering how you had a stroke out of the blue. Donald really chose à ‘good wife. That woman just lives to stir up trouble for this family.”
Werner jumped in, “Dad, I swear I didn’t know Jennifer was such a blabbermouth.”
Hayden leveled a shaky finger at Werner on the floor. “If you had nothing to hide, you wouldn’t have to worry about people talking. You’re fifty years old, but you’re still running around with whores, cheating on your wife.
“Now you got yourself divorced and thrown out on your ass, huh? You have no shame. Get the hell out of my sight. You’re no longer a Lynn. I don’t have a son like you.”
Werner’s head dropped lower. “Dad, hit me, yell at me… I deserve it. But I can’t leave. I have to stay here and take care of you.”
“I don’t want you anywhere near me,” Hayden snapped, turning his head to look at Jonathan. “Jonathan, find me two caregivers. I don’t want to see his face again. A son like that is no son of mine.”
Jonathan had barely stepped out of the room when Gary walked in.
Hayden looked at Gary, a wave of sorrow washing over his face. He thought, ‘Gary should have the Lynn name. Werner can rot without it.”
“Grandpa, we kept it from you so you wouldn’t lose it like this. It’s really not good for you to be under so much stress,” Gary said.
“My boy… How could I not get worked up? Look at this whole mess.” Hayden couldn’t stop sighing. It was like he’d aged a decade in one night, more white in his hair than ever.
Gary left the ward. He’d caught sight of Jonathan earlier. Now, Jonathan was at the payment counter. Gary walked up to him and said, “Hey, Jonathan.”
“You made it,” Jonathan said.
Jonathan’s chill response caught Gary off guard. “Didn’t Teresa say anything to you?” Gary asked carefully.
Jonathan raised an eyebrow. “About what?”
Gary’s stomach dropped. He scrambled for words. “Oh, nothing. I just saw the fireworks. They were beautiful. Hard to believe you two go back ten years.”
“Yeah, well, there’s a lot you’d find hard to believe,” Jonathan said.
Gary stared at him, the pieces clicking into place. He thought, ‘So he’s still in the dark about Mike. Teresa must have been about to tell him, and then the call about Grandpa came in and ruined everything!
“Oh, right, Jonathan,” Gary called out. “Who told Grandpa all that stuff?”
“Does it even matter? He knows everything now,” Jonathan said.
“But it couldn’t have been Werner. And not Cathy or Donald…” Gary’s stomach hit the floor. “Wait, was it Jennifer? Did Jennifer tell Grandpa?”
Jonathan’s blank face told him everything. “I need to go,” Gary said.
He took the stairs down three flights to Jennifer’s department.
“Sir, this is the gynecology department. You can’t go in there,” a nurse said, trying to block his path.

Chapter 640
Gary blew right past her and slammed open the door to Jennifer’s office.
There she was, sitting at her desk in her white coat, looking completely unfazed. He stared at her, his voice shaking with disbelief. “Jennifer, what have you done?”
Jennifer’s pen stopped moving for a split second. She passed the medical chart to her patient. Once the woman left, Jennifer lifted her head. Done about what?”
“Did
you
tell Hayden that I’m not Yorick’s son?” Gary demanded, his voice tight with rage. “Did you
tell him that Werner and Cathy are divorced?
Jennifer didn’t even blink. “And if I did? It’s all true, isn’t it?”
