Chapter 631
Teresa said, “I’m getting discharged this afternoon. You really didn’t have to buy so much stuff. I won’t even use most of it.”
Jonathan said, “I’ve had some supplements delivered to your apartment complex. The essentials you’ll need right away will be sent to your hospital room. I’ll check with the doctor about your condition later.”
Teresa’s heart skipped a beat. She quickly replied, “I’m fine.” She was afraid the doctor might tell Jonathan about her pregnancy. But it occurred to her that she had listed her marital status as single. The doctor might not say anything to Jonathan.
Teresa turned over in bed and said, “Could you step out for now? I want to take a nap.”
Jonathan sat on the edge of the bed, his gaze fixed on Teresa’s back. “I’m not going anywhere today. I won’t rest easy until I know you’re fully recovered.”
Teresa retorted, “I’m perfectly fine. You’re just making a mountain out of a molehill.”
Jonathan retorted, “You call this making a fuss? I ran two red lights, rushing here. How heartless can you be?”
Seeing this, Teresa slowly turned around with a teasing smile and asked, “So what’s the plan? Want me to use my license to take the points for you? Otherwise, you’ll end up getting yours suspended.”
Jonathan scoffed, “I’ll use Gary’s license. He doesn’t even drive in Nareigh anyway.”
“Sanford’s back in Nareigh already? That was quick.”
Jonathan scoffed, “He’s not coming to see you. Don’t get your hopes up.”
Teresa rolled her eyes. “I was just asking. He’s Donald’s half–brother. How could I possibly get involved with him? That’s completely out of the question.”
Once Jennifer realized Sanford was Donald’s brother, she stopped suggesting Teresa consider him.
Jonathan took her hand and kissed the back of it gently. “That’s good to hear. I just want you to only have eyes for me.”
Teresa gazed at his handsome profile. A sharp knock at the door interrupted them. Teresa snapped back to reality and looked up, seeing Jennifer standing there with an icy expression.
Jonathan stood up and gave Jennifer a polite nod.
Jennifer said coldly to Jonathan, “As her ex–husband, you really shouldn’t be visiting her. Teresa’s fine. It’s just a minor stomach issue. She’ll be discharged today.”
Jonathan said, “I’ve arranged a car. I’ll take her home this afternoon.”
“Absolutely not,” Jennifer cut in sharply. Teresa’s baby bump was already noticeable. What was more, the snug hospital gown she was wearing made her
pregnancy even more apparent.
Jennifer said, “I’ll take Teresa home myself. No need for you to worry about her anymore. What do you say, Teresa?”
Teresa understood exactly what Jennifer was implying. She knew that if Jonathan noticed she was pregnant, she’d have
about Michael.
ice but to come clean
Teresa said to Jonathan, “Jennifer and I still have some things to discuss in private. Why don’t you head back first? I can manage to get home by myself
this afternoon.”
Jennifer said coldly, echoing Teresa’s words, “Yeah. Don’t let the door hit you on your way out.”
Jonathan had no choice but to leave first, not wanting to provoke Jennifer further.

Chapter 631
Teresa was exasperated with Jennifer’s attitude towards Jonathan. “Could you please stop being an ass?”
Jennifer shot back, “It is my business.”
Teresa looked Jennifer straight in the eye. “Fine, then. It’s my right to come clean about Michael. Jennifer, I’ve given you enough time. I can’t keep waiting for you. I tried to spare your feelings, so don’t blame me for what happens next.”
“You were the one who said you didn’t want to get back together. You insisted on keeping Mike a secret. I only fabricated those reports because of you And now it’s all my fault?” Jennifer suddenly shouted.
Teresa took a deep breath, trying to steady her nerves before she spoke.
“At first, I didn’t want to reveal the truth about Michael, but I had no idea you were secretly falsifying medical reports. When I finally found out, I told you I
didn’t need you to go that far for me. And what did you say?”
Jennifer retorted, “It’s for your own good. Even now, I don’t think I’ve ever failed you as your sister. Sure, I broke medical ethics, but I’ve never let you down.”
Seeing Jennifer’s indignant expression, Teresa looked away. “We’ve fought about this too many times. I’m truly exhausted. This time, I’m really going to come clean about everything, even if it means we both lose everything.”
Teresa then told Jennifer that Sanford was back in Nareigh. She thought he was back for Michael.
She said, “Sanford didn’t have to get caught up in this mess, but he still came back. He’s clearly concerned about our situation. We can’t afford to drag more innocent people into this.”
“What are you talking about? We’re all fine right now, but you just have to speak up, just have to break this peace.” By then, everything would change. Nothing would ever be the same again. Nothing would ever be the same again.
But no matter what Jennifer said, Teresa was determined to come clean.
“Fine. If you insist on having your own way, so be it.” Jennifer threw up a hand in exasperation. “Once Sanford gets back, we’ll take our time at your place to work out how to break the news.” With that, Jennifer turned and stormed out.
Teresa got out of bed. Looking through the window, she spotted a familiar Maybach and froze. Jonathan hadn’t left. She gazed quietly at the car, its tinted windows hiding whoever was inside.
Teresa called Jonathan. “You should go back now. I’m really fine.”
“Have you eaten yet?” Jonathan asked gently.
“Yeah. Thanks for coming to see me,” Teresa said, a little guilty.
Jonathan said gently, “I’ll stay until I’ve taken care of your discharge paperwork.”
Teresa said, “No need. Jennifer’s already taken care of it. I’ll just go home with her later.”
Jonathan fell silent for a few seconds. “Would it be alright if I come by tomorrow to check on you?”
Teresa replied softly, “We’ll see.” She didn’t want to have a conversation about Michael at home. She’d thought about tel‘ Michael, but never in front of Michael. They needed to talk it through.
Teresa was not sure if Jonathan would lose control. She just hoped their emotions wouldn’t affect Michael.
Only then did Jonathan hang up, finally relenting and choosing not to push any further
‘onathan the truth about
After seeing Jonathan’s car drive away, Teresa left the hospital room. Accompanied by Jennifer, she returned home. After changing into fresh clothes, she draped an oversized shawl, perfectly concealing the curves of her waistline.

Chapter 631
Before long, Gary arrived.
Teresa said to Jennifer, “He texted me on his way here, I asked him to come.”
Gary paused and then called out hesitantly, “Jennifer. It’s been a while.”
Jennifer sneered. “I don’t want to see you anymore. We’re not friends anymore.”
“Jennifer, you’ve got me all wrong. I honestly had no idea I was Donald’s brother at first.”
“Now that you know. How am I supposed to face you? My husband’s brother and I–classmates and confidants, sharing everything? What would people say about me? Donald would definitely get suspicious. Let’s just cut all ties from now on.”
With that, Jennifer turned away, her gaze icy and unyielding.
