Chapter 14
Third Person POV
Bianca thought she had already won.
In the first few weeks after Robert came home,
she felt she had truly triumphed. She graced
the marble corridors of the Alpha Manor with the elegance of a newly crowned Luna. The maids who once obeyed Bella now quivered under Bianca’s sharp orders.
She redecorated the master bedroom,
erasing every trace of the she-wolf who once slept there. The wardrobe was emptied, old photographs burned, and even the scent of Bella’s favorite perfume was completely
eradicated.
And Robert… sweet, naive Robert knew
nothing.
He would run to her after school, wrap his
arms around her waist and squeal, “Mommy!
Mommy! Where’s Daddy?”

This made a sharp sense of victory surge through Bianca’s chest. She would smile down at him, pat his head, and tell herself this was how it should be. Their pack, their family, her Alpha mate.
But after a few weeks, this glorious illusion
began to decay at the edges.
First, Jason started spending more time away than ever before. Initially, Bianca believed his
excuses, even repeated them like prayers: — “He’s working hard for us. For our family, for
our son.”
But nights turned into dawn, occasional missed dinners became whole weekends holed up in his old office or trips on “business” that never
included her.
– When she questioned him, he would roar
back: “Don’t start, Bianca. The Blackstone Pack’s business is collapsing-my grandfather ensured that. He demoted me. I’m no longer the Alpha heir; I’m nothing. You haven’t helped.”
She would stand in the hallway, tightly

wrapped in her silk robe, Robert’s toys scattered at her feet, feeling her victorious
throne teetering.
One night, Bianca waited for him to return. The dinner she painstakingly prepared all day cooled on the table. When the front door finally creaked open, Jason stumbled in, reeking of
alcohol.
His tie was askew, and his eyes were bloodshot. She tried to keep her voice soft and gentle, as she always did when she wanted something from him. “Where have you been? You promised you’d be home early tonight.”
He didn’t even look at her, tossing his keys on the table and shrugging off his coat as if she
didn’t exist. “Work.”
“That’s not an answer, Jason. You’re always
‘working.’ It’s been weeks-the guest list for the joining ceremony hasn’t been finalized for three
weeks-”
“Then do it yourself.” He cut her off, slurring slightly. “Why do you think my grandfather gave you those documents? Hmm? He hates me now.

He wants me gone. He’ll never let me be the Alpha of this pack again, not after the cheating scandal, the failed investments, the broken
mate bond. He still wants her back. Everyone wants her back.”
Bianca’s heart sank. She stepped closer, lowering her voice as though Robert might hear. “Who do they want back, Jason?”
He didn’t say her name, but he didn’t need to.
Bianca’s nails dug into her palms. “You’re still thinking about her, aren’t you? After everything she did? She kidnapped your son! She humiliated you, humiliated us!”
His laugh was hollow and bitter. “She didn’t humiliate me. I humiliated myself.”
She stared at him as if she’d been slapped.
“You regret it, don’t you?” she whispered. “You regret choosing me.”
His eyes, cold and empty, met hers. “Maybe I
do.”

The words shattered something within her chest. She grabbed his arm, her nails digging into his sleeve. “You bastard! She never wanted you! She left, thank Alpha she left! She’s a worthless bitch who clung to you because you
The slap echoed through the marble hall,
silencing everything else like thunder.
Bianca stumbled back, a hand flying to her struck cheek, eyes wide and flickering with disbelief. “You-you hit me.”
Jason’s chest heaved, a battle between anger and regret in his eyes. His hand still hung in the air, fingers trembling. “Don’t say that about her again.”
Bianca’s voice cracked. “She ruined you. Look
at yourself! Look at us! Is this what you wanted?
You’re mourning her while she’s mocking you!
She’s gone, Jason! She left you with nothing!”
His lips twisted into a bitter, tired smile. “She left with her dignity. Something you always pretend you have.”

Bianca’s shoulders shook, tears falling. “I gave up everything for you. I bore your son, something she couldn’t. I stood by you when you called her worthless-”
Jason’s laughter was broken. “You didn’t do it for me. You did it for yourself. You envied her life. Now you have it. How does it feel?”
Bianca opened her mouth, but no words came.
She looked around the cold, empty house-the house she fought so hard to have—and for the
first time, it felt like a prison.
Robert’s soft footsteps sounded from upstairs,
unnoticed by both of them.
They stood amidst the ruins of their stolen kingdom, two people who thought they had
won, finally realizing that all they inherited was each other’s poison.
Bianca wiped her tears with a trembling hand.
“You’ll never have her. Even if she returns
tomorrow, she’ll never want you.”

Jason said nothing.
He just turned away, leaving her alone in the dim hallway-her glass crown already beginning to fracture.
