Chapter 8
For three relentless hours, Jason and Bianca huddled in a cramped room within the PackAlliance enforcement office, eyes glued to a spread of surveillance stills, notes, and testimonies on the table-none leading to any
concrete answers.
A uniformed officer cleared his throat for the
third time.
“I’m sorry, Alpha Jason, Miss Bianca. We have reviewed every camera feed from your pack’s estate, at the intersections, and the checkpoints.”
“And?!” Bianca shrieked, her voice frayed and desperate.
Her fingers were twisting the hem of her jacket so forcefully it was near to tearing.
The officer shifted uneasily. “There’s no usable footage. It’s as if your son vanished into thin
air.”

Bianca let out a choked scream and slammed her fist on the table. “It was Bella! She took Robert-it’s all her fault! That bitch-”
“Enough!” Jason roared, his jaw clenched and eyes bloodshot from sleepless nights. “Do your think screaming is going to help them find him any faster?”
Bianca spun around to him, fury blazing in her eyes. “You think this is my fault? My fault? I didn’t force you to cheat on her with me—”
“And yet you did,” Jason snapped, the corner of his mouth twitching with anger. “Because you couldn’t stand that she was better than you. She was your best friend, Bianca-your best
friend!”
“Don’t you pin this on me,” she snarled, jabbing a finger into his chest. “She took him. She’s the one trying to destroy us-”
“She found out about us, about everything. You think this is just revenge? No, Bianca. She took Robert because he was the last thing we had.”
Bianca laughed, but her laughter sounded

more like sobbing. “So what? You were planning to ditch her anyway! You promised once the PackAlliance investors signed the new contract, you’d break the mate bond with her
and choose me. Now-”
“Now what?” Jason bellowed. “Now she’s taken
our son! My son. And this is your mess!”
Just as Bianca was about to retort, another officer entered, holding a tablet, his expression
tense.
“We’ve scanned more pack cameras, airports, stations. Still no clues. Whoever took your son planned it meticulously. No footage, no
credible witnesses.”
Bianca staggered, barely keeping her balance. “No, no, you’re wrong. Keep looking-keep looking! She can’t hide him forever-she can’t
But the officer didn’t waver. He turned and left, leaving a heavy silence that pressed down like a tombstone.
Days blurred into one another.

One sleepless night became two, and two turned into a week. The once formidable Alpha estate now felt colder than ever, stripped of the illusions of wealth and invincibility.
Bianca ceased sleeping altogether. She wandered the hallways barefoot, her hair
tangled in knots, replaying every argument with
Bella in her mind.
She remembered the day Bella begged Jason to drive her to the pack hospital for a prenatal check-up, but Bianca had answered the call for him-‘He’s busy’-then hung up and laughed.
She remembered the accident. The hospital bed. Bella’s desolate eyes as she lost the pup. She remembered the taunting messages she later sent Bella, pictures of Bianca, Jason, and Robert together-so self-assured, so certain of her place.
Now her own pup was gone. She was tormented by her own words-‘Don’t worry about the pup, Jason has an Alpha heir now.’
It was as if karma had arrived in the form of

Bella.
Jason, Alpha Jason, felt something he hadn’t felt in years. Regret. He roamed the rooms, opening closets, checking the servants’ quarters, as if Bella might be hiding there with Robert-as if this was just another threat she
had spoken.
He clung to the memory of their last fight when Bella said she was leaving but never did. She
packed her bags but couldn’t bear to leave him
and returned.
Maybe she would come back this time too.
But the house remained empty. Robert’s small shoes still by the door. His teddy bear was missing.
At night, when he thought no one could see, Jason sat in Robert’s room, clutching the small toy car that his son used to trip over on the marble floors.
He gripped the toy car until its sharp plastic edges cut into his palm.

As sleep finally overtook him, he was haunted by Bella’s face on the day she lost the pup.
He had blamed her. Called her useless. Told her
she deserved it.
And now, he felt it. The same jagged void. The same helpless agony.
The following morning, Jason slumped in Robert’s empty room. As dawn’s light filtered through the cracks in the walls, it illuminated his hollow eyes and the scattered folders, maps, and stills on the floor, like a pack territory already lost.
Bianca collapsed in the hallway, muttering to herself.
But her voice barely registered in Jason’s ears.
He pressed his forehead against the edge of the toy chest, his hands trembling.
“I’m sorry,” he whispered into the silence. “Bella-wherever you are-please, I’m so sorry. Bring him back. I’m begging you.”
