Chapter 25

Third-Person POV

Alpha Grayson clenched the wheel, restraining the instinct to lean in and kiss her. Instead, he

took a deep breath, turned the car, and pulled up in front of a pharmacy.

Minutes later, he returned with a small bag, opened the passenger door, and knelt beside

her.

Judy blinked. “What are you doing?”

“Checking your ankle,” he said, pulling off her socks with careful hands. “You said it was

twisted. If there’s swelling or bruising, we need to deal with it before it gets worse.”

Judy’s heart fluttered. She hadn’t expected.

this side of him-the calm, caring wolf hidden beneath all that steel.

“Thank you,” she murmured.

Her voice was soft, warm with sincerity. On

impulse, she leaned forward and kissed his cheek-just a quick, fluttering kiss.

Alpha Grayson froze. His ears turned crimson.

This was a man who teased easily, but being on the receiving end? That threw him off completely.

Seeing his stunned, almost boyish reaction, Judy couldn’t help but laugh.

“So even the infamous Alpha Grayson blushes?”

“Who’s blushing?” he grumbled, but his voice was a touch too high.

He resumed inspecting her ankle, gently massaging it until she let out a tiny cry.

“Ah!”

Grayson immediately loosened his grip, worry flashing in his eyes. “Did that hurt?”

“No,” Judy shook her head, but her smile faded slightly.

A memory slipped through the cracks-Alpha Simon, gently rubbing her foot after she’d

twisted it years ago. He’d rushed to get herbal salve and panicked at every wince she made.

That was another life. Another man.

“Still thinking about him?” Grayson asked quietly. His sharp instincts didn’t miss a thing.

She hesitated. “I won’t think about him

anymore.”

Then she cupped his face, meeting his gaze squarely.

“I’m going to fall in love with you, Alpha Grayson.”

A slow smile tugged at his lips. “Love me or not, you’re mine either way, Luna Judy.”

“Then take care of me. For the rest of my life.”

He started the engine again, voice low and full of quiet certainty, “Let’s go home.”

That evening, Judy sat down for her first dinner

The warmth in the air was unmistakable. Everyone welcomed her with open arms, treating her like a true daughter of the pack. Jokes, stories, food piled high-it felt like a real

home.

Grayson’s mother kept scolding him. “You better treat her well. If you ever hurt her, I’ll break your legs myself!”

“Who would dare hurt her?” Grayson said,

piling food onto Judy’s plate. “I’m more afraid she’s the one who’ll bully me.”

“Honestly,” his mother chuckled, “if Judy

bullies you, you deserve it.”

“Mom! That’s favoritism!”

Grayson pouted, but the laughter in his eyes. betrayed his happiness.

Judy felt her heart soften. It had been a long time since she’d been part of a family that actually felt… safe.

Then a servant stepped forward, hesitant. “Alpha Grayson… there’s a drunk man outside. He’s yelling for Luna Judy. Says he won’t leave.”

The laughter died instantly.

Grayson exchanged a glance with Judy. His voice was calm, but firm. “Do you know who it

is?”

Judy sighed and nodded. “Probably him.”

“Just a lunatic,” Grayson muttered. “Want me to check it out, or should I handle it completely?”

Judy lowered her gaze. “I don’t want to see

him.”

Grayson stood. “Mom, Dad-make sure Judy eats properly. She’s too thin.”

“Go on, you rascal,” his father grunted with a chuckle. “At least you care about your mate.”

Grayson stepped outside.

Alpha Simon was at the front gate, disheveled. and swaying, clutching the iron bars as if they

were the only thing keeping him standing.

“Judy! Judy, please! Come out!” he cried hoarsely. “I’m sorry. I’ll do anything. Just forgive me!”

Grayson leaned against the wall, arms crossed. He watched in silence as the former alpha degraded himself, drunk on more than alcohol.

When Simon finally slumped to the ground, too exhausted to continue, Grayson pushed the

gate open.

“Done howling?” he asked casually.

Alpha Simon looked up, bleary-eyed, and staggered to his feet.

Seeing Grayson, rage lit up in his eyes. He lunged forward, grabbing him by the collar.

“Give her back! Judy is mine! She’s my mate! Don’t you get it?!”

Grayson didn’t flinch. “Was. She was yours, You didn’t protect her. You cheated. You chose another woman. And now you want to keep

her like she’s your possession? That’s not love. That’s obsession.”

“This is between me and Judy!” Simon spat. “It has nothing to do with you!”

Grayson’s voice dropped to a deadly calm.

“You’re drunk. And I’m done wasting breath on

drunk wolves.”

He leaned closer, the menace in his aura rolling

off him like thunder.

“What do you want, Simon? When will you

finally let her go?”
