Chapter 24

Third-Person POV

The crowd fell into stunned silence as Alpha Simon watched the kiss unfold before his eyes.

His chest heaved, fury burning like wildfire through his veins.

“Alpha Grayson!” he roared, voice cracking with

rage. “Let go of her! I won’t let you lay a hand

on her!”

He lunged forward like a maddened beast, but

Alpha Grayson sidestepped him effortlessly. With barely a flick of his wrist, Simon stumbled, tripped over his own feet, and hit the ground hard-dust flying up around him.

He lay there sprawled out, dignity shattered, his

alpha pride in tatters.

Gasps rippled through the onlookers-fellow wolves, stablehands, and young she-wolves who had grown up idolizing Alpha Simon.

Whispers spread like wildfire.

“Serves him right. Betrays his mate, then comes crawling back? Pathetic.”

“Late regret is cheaper than grass. He should’ve cherished her when he had the chance.”

Alpha Grayson towered over the fallen man, his

voice icy and firm.

“This is your last warning, Alpha Simon. Stay away from Judy. She’s my Luna now, bound to me by pack law-and by fate. You won’t take

her from me.”

Simon forced himself to his feet, pride fighting past the bruises. “Marriage isn’t forever. Divorce

exists. Don’t get cocky, Grayson. Judy still loves

me!”

Alpha Grayson’s jaw clenched, his eyes dark as a midnight storm.

“Do you even understand what you’re saying?” he said, voice low and dangerous. “Alpha bonds are protected by pack law. Trying to break a Luna away from her bonded mate? That’s a

criminal offense. You could be stripped of your title-or imprisoned.”

Judy, still in his arms, couldn’t help but chuckle softly. Leave it to Grayson to pull out the legal

card.

He was sharper than she gave him credit for.

Simon ignored the warning and turned to her with pleading eyes.

“Judy… don’t you have even a shred of feeling

left for me?”

Grayson gently set her down.

Judy straightened her spine, took a steady breath, and locked eyes with Simon.

“I’m only going to say this once more,” she said calmly, but her voice carried the weight of finality. “We’re done. Completely and irreversibly done.

From the moment Wilona came back…

When you snuck off to the airport to pick her

When you canceled our wedding only to propose to her on your knees…

And when you kissed her in that bar…

That was the end of us.”

Simon’s face drained of color. “You… you knew all along?”

Judy’s expression softened into a sad smile. “Yes. I knew everything.”

She took a deep breath, her voice unwavering.

“I’m not angry anymore, Simon. I’m grateful. Grateful I only spent five years figuring you out. instead of wasting a lifetime. I’m married now- to Grayson. And from this day forward, I’ll love and honor him, not you. As long as he never betrays me, he’ll have all of me. Forever.”

Her eyes narrowed.

“And you? You said you loved Wilona. Weren’t you planning a future with her? Then go-live

that life. Just don’t ever show your face in front of me again. I’ve had enough of you.”

“No!” Alpha Simon cried, stepping forward again. “I don’t love her. Judy, I’ve only ever loved you! Please-”

“But I don’t love you anymore,” she said flatly.

“You disgust me.”

And with that, she turned away, her fingers slipping into Alpha Grayson’s outstretched

hand.

He didn’t say a word. He simply led her away from the stables, leaving Alpha Simon behind in

a cloud of dust, rejection, and silence.

Once inside the car, Grayson didn’t speak immediately. But a slow smile tugged at the corners of his lips.

Judy narrowed her eyes. “What are you smirking at?”

“Nothing,” he replied, clearly amused. “I’m just… happy.”

That surprised her.

She didn’t expect Alpha Grayson,to smile like that. It was rare. And kind of charming.

“What’s there to be happy about?” she asked.

He glanced at her with something almost like affection. “I think I finally figured out what it

feels like to want someone-really want them.

You.”

She blinked.

The words landed heavier than she expected.

“And… the tickets are ready,” he added. “We leave tomorrow morning. Our honeymoon

awaits.”

Judy couldn’t help the smile that formed. “Thank you.”

“For what?”

She turned to him, eyes warm. “For standing by

  1. For protecting me.”

Her voice softened, almost shy. “Thank you, my wonderful mate.”

He paused.

“Wonderful mate?” he echoed, stunned for a second. “You really called me that?”

His heartbeat quickened. His wolf stirred restlessly beneath his skin.

He looked at her lips. So close. So tempting.

And for a moment, he forgot the rest of the world.

He leaned just a little closer.
