Chapter 19

Third-Person POV

The moment Alpha Grayson entered the hospital room, the air thickened with tension.

Alpha Simon’s face darkened instantly. “Alpha Grayson. What are you doing here?”

Grayson didn’t blink. Arms crossed over his broad chest, his voice dropped cold and low. “Isn’t it obvious?”

His sharp gaze swept over the man slouched in the hospital bed.

“So you’re the Alpha Simon,” he said. “The one Judy kept turning down our pack’s proposals for-all because of you?”

Simon flinched.

“She rejected the Silver Claw Pack… for me?”

A wave of guilt hit him like a punch to the gut. All this time, he’d thought no other male had

ever stepped into Judy’s life. That she was just waiting for him, like always.

He’d never imagined she already had a fiancé -one more powerful, more commanding. An Alpha who didn’t hesitate to claim her.

For the first time, Simon realized just how wrong he’d been. He’d thrown away something irreplaceable.

If he could go back….. he’d never have touched

Wilona. Never.

But it was too late.

Grayson didn’t waste another breath. “You’re

awake now. Great. My Luna and I are going

home to rest.”

Just then, Judy emerged from the bathroom. Without a word, Grayson took her hand.

“Let’s go,” he said. “I’m tired.”

Judy didn’t resist. She didn’t want to stay any longer either.

But as they turned to leave, Simon broke.

“No-Judy! Don’t go! Don’t leave me!”

He tumbled off the hospital bed, crashing to the cold floor with a grunt. Weak and trembling, he began crawling toward her.

Judy stopped, a frown creasing her brow. “Simon, why do this?”

“I know I was wrong,” Simon choked, dragging himself closer. “But please, Judy. Don’t leave me. I’ll do anything—just don’t walk away.”

Alpha Grayson’s patience snapped.

With a growl low in his throat, he stormed over and yanked Simon off the floor. “You call yourself an Alpha? Get off your knees.”

He slammed Simon back onto the bed with a thud. “She’s my Luna now. If you ever bother her again, I won’t hold back next time.”

With that, Grayson turned and pulled Judy along behind him.

He walked fast, jaw tight, forcing her to match his pace through the halls and down to the parking lot. When they reached the car, he opened the door for her, then slid behind the wheel and started the engine with one smooth

motion.

After a moment, he threw her a sideways glance. “I just dragged you out of there without asking. You don’t have any objections, right? You’re not actually thinking about going back to lick that mutt’s boots, are you?”

His tone was biting, his words sharp.

Judy clenched her jaw. Just when she thought she might be softening toward him… he had to go and ruin it.

“That’s none of your business,” she muttered.

Grayson raised an eyebrow. “None of my business? I’m your husband.”

He leaned toward her, closing the space between them in one slow, deliberate motion.

His golden eyes gleamed, and Judy’s heart began to pound.

“What are you doing?” she asked, instinctively leaning back.

Grayson leaned closer.

She shut her eyes.

Click.

The seatbelt snapped into place across her

chest.

Grayson leaned back into his seat, lips curling with satisfaction. “What? You thought I was going to kiss you?”

Flustered, Judy turned away, cheeks flushed.

“No.”

“You should kiss me.”

Her head whipped around. “Excuse me?”

Grayson pointed at his cheek. “Right here. One kiss, and I’ll forgive you for spending our entire wedding night holding your ex’s hand like some tragic love story.”

Judy looked down, ashamed. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean for it to happen. I was going to leave last night, but I was worried… if something really

happened to Simon, it could cause trouble for my dad.”

Grayson said nothing for a moment. Then, without losing eye contact, he tapped his cheek. again.

She sighed, gathered her courage, and leaned over to press a soft, hesitant kiss against his

skin.

It was supposed to mean nothing.

But the second her lips touched his cheek, his whole body tensed. His heart, hardened by years of solitude, suddenly kicked into

overdrive.

Damn it, he thought, when did I become this

weak to her?

Clearing his throat, he looked away. “Right. You must be hungry. Let’s get breakfast.”

He stomped on the gas.

The car surged forward.

Judy yelped. “Slow down!”

Grayson chuckled under his breath and eased off the pedal. “Alright, alright.”

He glanced her way again. She was still blushing.

And for the first time, he let himself smile— really smile.

This Luna of his might be more than he bargained for.
