Claire’s makeup was ruined by tears as she clung to his leg, crying pitifully.
“This morning Mia said she wanted to go to the beach to throw seashells. I must have remembered wrong.”
“Lucas, you have to believe me!”
She pulled open her collar, revealing enticing cleavage that made one want to explore further.
But Lucas couldn’t tolerate deception. He slapped her hard across the face.
“You said you studied early childhood education?”
“You said you loved children the most?”
Claire covered her face, nodding frantically. “Yes, yes, I love children the most. That’s why I would
never hurt Mia!”
“Oh?” Lucas looked down at her coldly. “Someone who loves children wears such heavy makeup?”
Claire covered her face, letting out a soft moan.
“You said you were taking me to meet your family today. That’s why I dressed up.”
I didn’t want to hear any more.
“Lucas Shaw, I don’t want to hear about your love story. Get out!”
My fingers had some feeling now. I asked him for my phone.
Lucas pressed down my hand, as if pressing down my hope.
He pressed his lips together, a hint of nervousness in his eyes.
“Olivia, rest well. I’ll bring Mia to see you.”
“Someone come and help the madam rest.”
I struggled violently, but the doctor pushed another sedative. I fell unconscious.

Lucas felt he hadn’t seen Olivia this peaceful in a long time.
The way she looked at him was always full of disappointment. Only when he lay behind her at night could he feel she was truly his.
After tucking Olivia in, his patience was completely exhausted.
“Claire Lin, who do you think you are?”
“Just a nobody I picked up. You really thought you were worthy of meeting my family?”
Claire never imagined the man who had been so intimate with her yesterday could be so cold.
She dug her nails into her palms, overwhelmed with jealousy for the woman on the bed.
It was all her fault for using a child to tie Lucas down. Otherwise he would have given her status long
ago.
“Lucas, darling.” She nuzzled his palm. “I want to give you a son. Is that okay?”
“You said you liked my body, didn’t you?”
“I’m willing to bear your heir.”
Her gaze was reverent, trembling with excitement.
The old madam tacitly approved of his playboy ways, but there was no legitimate heir in the family.
Now that little bastard was dead, if only she could give birth to a son…
What was Olivia Sanders? She’d have to kneel down and put shoes on for her.
Lucas had never felt it so difficult to communicate with her.
Just then, a bodyguard rushed in breathlessly, panic in his eyes.
“Sir, something’s wrong.”
“The bodyguards protecting the young miss are back.”
Lucas’s heart sank. He scolded, “Nonsense! It’s good the young miss is back. Don’t talk rubbish.”
He lowered his head and gritted his teeth, saying:
“They say they were reassigned this morning to clean Miss Lin’s villa. They weren’t with the young miss today.”
