The bars were twisted and mangled, streaked with blood and torn flesh.
Zephyr’s breath caught as growling sounds echoed behind him.
Hiss. Hiss.
A feral vampire lunged at him with inhuman shrieks.
He kicked it away effortlessly.
His frown deepened with growing dread.
Where was I? What was this monster doing here?
Countless questions raced through his mind.
All pointing to an answer he couldn’t bear to believe.
Taking a steadying breath, Zephyr approached the writhing feral vampire.
Before he could get close, Lilith’s voice rang out behind him.
She’d followed with their newborn, crying out in alarm before carelessly dropping the baby.
After catching both mother and child, Zephyr felt irritation flare again.
Without warning, he thought of me.
If it had been me at his side, I never would have been so reckless.
I’d never put our child in danger like that.
He tugged at his collar, frustrated.
Meeting Lilith’s fearful, pitiful gaze, he forced himself to soften.
Pushing down his annoyance, Zephyr stroked her hair and moved to examine the feral vampire.
One look. Froze him in place.
Though the monster’s face was unrecognizable, the scar on its collarbone was unmistakable.
His personal claiming mark.
The brand he’d burned into my skin when he’d turned me, brought me to this manor.
Our unique bonding symbol.
How was this possible?!
His bedroom was the most secure location in the entire manor.
How could I have been injured here?
And why hadn’t anyone informed him for days?
Zephyr’s chest heaved as realization crashed over him.
He’d never imagined things would come to this.

I’m Not Your Breeding Tool, Vampire Lord
Chapter 5
In his mind, my daughter would inevitably become a monster anyway.
So he’d allowed Lilith to collar her.
Let her treat our child like a worthless beast.
But seeing me beg and grovel for that monster had made his heart clench with unexpected pain.
He’d thought the child couldn’t stay.
He’d thought I needed time to accept reality.
But he’d never imagined I would leave him entirely.
Staring at the skeletal feral vampire on the floor, Zephyr suddenly threw himself forward, gathering it into his arms.
Lilith watched from the doorway, her eyes burning with jealous hatred.
She’d already turned me into the twisted thing Zephyr despised most, yet somehow he treasured me even more now,
She couldn’t understand it. Couldn’t accept it.
Taking a deep breath, she forced a trembling smile.
Clutching the baby tighter, she approached Zephyr slowly.
“Zephyr, what’s wrong? Is this monster actually Isadora?”
“Oh my god, how did she… Did Isadora defy your orders and break into the Feeding Grounds?”
“This isn’t the first time she’s done something like this, is it? You’ve been too lenient with her. That’s why she turned out this way-”
“SHUT UP!”
