Chapter 511

Fiona said she wanted to go back to her school because she couldn’t stop worrying about the children there

Irene said, Mom, why don’t you come live with us in Nareigh? We can take turns looking after you.”

Don’t bother.Fiona shook her head. I’m in great health. When I have time, I’ll just come back to visit you all, okay?”

Heidi pleaded, Irene and I are really worried about you. We want to spend as much time with you as possible, just as Dad would have warded.”

Fiona suddenly fell silent. She took her daughtershands and gave them a gentle pat. I also want to live with you, but I’ve spent most of my life here. Moving to a bigger city now would be too much for me. Maybe later, okay?”

Seeing this, Heidi and Irene could only say yes

The phone bought for Fiona had finally arrived. She hadn’t owned a phone all these years, so she asked, How much did it cost?”

Heidi said, Jonathan had this custommade for you. It cost 30 thousand.”

Fiona gasped. What?”

Irene hurriedly denied, She’s joking. It was only 3 thousand dollars.”

Fiona clicked her tongue in disbelief. 3 thousand is still too much. Even a 33dollar phone would have worked.”

Irene said, Mom, you can’t buy a phone for about 30 dollars anymore. Jonathan can afford it, so don’t feel too much pressure. Come on, we’ll show you how it works. It’s pretty easy.”

Teresa sat still on the couch in the hotel room, her gaze falling on Jonathan, who was asleep in her lap

Jonathan came to her and told her that everything was settled and that he had to deal with some trivial matters tomorrow. Then he pulled her to the couch, rested his head on her lap, and fell asleep like a man completely worn out

Teresa wanted to wake him up and tell him to sleep in the bed instead. However, looking at his beautiful face and the dark circles under his eyes, she hesitated. She gently stroked his face and couldn’t bring herself to wake him

Teresa quietly pulled out her phone and snapped a picture of Jonathan as he slept. Her gallery was mostly filled with pictures of Michael, and this was the first photo she had secretly taken of Jonathan since the divorce

Jonathan slept soundly for a long time. When he woke up, he found himself alone on the couch, covered with a slowly sat up and looked around

He checked his watch and found it was nine in the evening. From the dining area came the faint clinking of dishes. In the open kitchen of the presidential suite, Teresa was cooking gruel for him

You’re finally up. Have some food. I just finished cooking,” she said, setting the table. Her long hair was gently pinned up, and the sight brought back a flood of memories for Jonathan

Jonathan just looked at Teresa, lost in thought, until she urged him again. Only then did he give a faint nod and come toward her

Jonathan washed his hands and sat down. So, when are you heading back to Nareigh?”

Tomorrow, I suppose,Teresa said. You borrowed my car yesterday, so I couldn’t get back. That’s why I’m still here.”

Jonathan didn’t press further, sitting quietly across from her

Teresa took her seat as well. It had been ages since they sat face to face like this, sharing a quiet meal. Neither of them could recall the last time it had felt this calm

The curtains were open, revealing the deep night outside aglow with city lights, while a warm glow from within bathed the room

Did you make these dishes?Jonathan asked Teresa

Teresa replied, Part of them is delivery. I made gruel. I bought everything and did the seasoning.”

Jonathan glanced at Teresa and joked, Guess I should start calling you Chef Teresa now.”

Teresa couldn’t help but smile at the joke

Teresa had already finished eating while Jonathan lingered over each bite as if savoring something beyond just the food. When he was done, not a scrap
