Chapter 5

After giving Alina Vale the cold shoulder for days, Kael figured she’d finally yield.

Today was the weekend-originally their bonding ceremony date, and the day he’d planned to return home.

Though the ceremony was canceled, he still felt somewhat regretful.

Maybe he’d bring a gift as compensation.

With this thought, Kael packed his Alpha belongings while collecting the dirty clothes from the past few days.

Alina always hand-washed his shirts, air-dried them, and pressed them flawlessly. Thinking of how Amaris just dumped everything into the washing machine made him frown.

“Baby, I have a prenatal appointment today. Come with me? Please.”

Amaris suddenly burst through the door, her tone carrying that usual teasing quality mixed with whining.

Kael didn’t look up”Another time. I’m going home today.”

“Mmh…Bro” She hooked her arm around his neck. “You’re so heartless.”

There was that “bro” routine again.

He glanced up at her.

Dark skin, a tank top slipping off her shoulders, stick-thin legs beneath denim shorts. If not for the slight swell of her belly, you’d hardly recognize her as a female wolf.

A sudden wave of revulsion hit him-how had he even managed to fuck her that night? He must have been completely wasted and in rut.

Looking at her now, she held no appeal whatsoever. Instead, she made him think of Alina even more.

That girl had porcelain skin, a soft voice, especially when her eyes reddened looking at him. Yet she was stubborn, refusing to submit, stirring his desires. No

one could resist such a woman-Alpha or not.

Three years ago when she’d confessed, he’d coldly shouted her,but she’d persisted through gritted teeth. Finally he’d accepted her, thinking”Well, well, a little dumb doesn’t matter, low bloodline doesn’t matter.”

Besides Alina, he’d never want to seal a bond with anyone.

With this thought, he shoved Amaris away and grabbed his suitcase.

“Kael Thorne!” Amaris called out. “What about your responsibilities? You’re abandoning the pup?”

He whirled around, Alpha fury exploding”We agreed I’d go home weekends! You deliberately scheduled the appointment today?”

He gave her a disgusted look: “Alina’s finally calmed down, and now you want to copy her? Look in the mirror-your pathetic imitation is just revolting.”

Amaris froze in place, her eyes gradually reddening.

He had no interest in watching, grabbed his suitcase and slammed the door behind him.

On the way, he deliberately stopped at a market for Alina’s favorite perfume, then picked out a necklace at the jewelry counter.

He imagined her pouting and secretly smiling when she received them, stubbornly claiming she “didn’t like” them-that hard-mouthed, soft-hearted expression.

Chapter

His lips rurved unconsciously.

But when he opened the front door, all his fantasies shattered like soap bubbles.

The decorations remained, but the house felt hollow, soul-drained.

All of Alina’s belongings were gone.

Even her carefully arranged vanity held only a solitary ring.

(ael’s mind exploded with a thunderous crash. He slammed his fist on the surface, eyes instantly bloodshot.

Alina Vale… what trick are you playing now?”

le dialed her number.

A strange Alpha’s voice answered.

Who is this?” Kael snarled, his voice a guttural warning from deep in his throat. “Put Alina on the phone!”

hat Alpha chuckled calmly”My mate is changing clothes. If there’s something urgent, you can tell me.”

Mate?

Kael laughed lowly with rage”Ha… impressive, Alina Vale.Nice job!Even learned to use other males to provoke me?”

His grip nearly crushed the phone, voice turning ice-cold “Where are you?”

That Alpha didn’t dodge or hide, directly dropping him an address.

Kael hung up immediately, radiating the most volatile Alpha aggression.

ine… she dared bring another male into his territory at a time like this.

he was dancing on his breaking point.

This time, he wouldn’t show mercy.

He must teach her a lesson and make her understand who her real Alpha was!
