In the bustling departure hall filled with travelers, she held me tight.
Just like when we were children, I gently patted her back and said softly, “If you can’t make it on your own abroad, just come back. There will always be a room waiting for you at Peterson Manor.”
Lillian wrapped her arms around my neck, and I felt warm tears falling onto my shoulder.
Her voice was soft, choked with emotion, just like that little girl from our childhood who would run to me crying whenever someone had hurt her.
Lillian said, “Harper, you’re so strong. Just knowing that no matter what happens, you’ll always be there to support me makes me feel like I can face anything.”
I gently patted her back, knowing that the little crybaby from before had grown up.
She wasn’t someone who could only rely on others‘ protection anymore. In that distant land, she would surely bloom into her own brilliant flower.
