Lotus POV
I woke up with the worst headache ever, I felt like my head have managed to split in half during the night and got put back together by the morning and the glue is still wet. I groaned as I woke up, thinking of how many coffee I’m gonna need to survive the day, and I got school today? Or is it Sunday, do wolves attend churches? Mom did drag me there during holidays, and when she’s having bad days, but that’s about how far our faith goes.
“Good morning Flower, how you feeling today?” A new guy I don’t know asks me.
“Who are you! what are you doing in my room.” I yell at him, who the hell is this guy.
“I’m your step uncle, we talked yesterday, but you were sick.” he says but I just shook my head at him, I don’t recognize him, last night I was meant to meet him with mom and the rest but the fever got the best of me, and I fell asleep.
“Mommmm….There’s a man in my room,” I call out for myrther for help, she ran toward my room, opening the door with Levent on her heels, checking if I’m really in danger or not..
“It’s just your uncle, you were all over him last night,” Mom says,
“I wasn’t.” I object quickly.

“You said you wanted to climb me,” he says with a chuckle.
“I would never say anything like that,” I object, last night was very blurry. I don’t understand or remember what happened, just that I fell sick.
“Do
you remember anything at all?” Levent asks me and I shook my head no, I could see that all of them had a look of relief, what did I say last night, how badly did I embarrass myself.
“How bad was it?” I ask out loud.
“Let’s just be happy you don’t remember much, but that means we’re gonna have to talk all over again to get to know each other,” Uncle
savs.
“How much did we talk?” I ask him.
“We opened our hearts to each other,” he says with a chuckle.
“I did no such thing,” I say in horror.
“If you’re feeling better Flower, why don’t you get dressed and we’ll meet over for breakfast,” Levent says, dragging my mother and his brother out of my room.
I know that I’m someone’s mate, but no idea whom, I know that I got sick because I ran away before the mate could find me, but now I’m feeling much better and still mateless, so it all has passed on it’s own, and I’m safe to go back to my old life without telling anyone about the mate mark.
“We’ll be waiting for you,” Uncle says leaving the room with the rest of
them.
I got out of the bed, and changed my clothes, I’m dressed in a pajama. I don’t remember changing into it last night, my hair is all messy like 1 have washed it and didn’t bother brushing it, which wasn’t like me. I fixed my hair, and changed into some clean clothes, I stood in front of the mirror thinking of putting on some make–up or doing my hair for real, maybe a quick blow dry, or I don’t know why I want to look pretty and who I want to look pretty for.
I forced myself to leave the mirror and went toward the kitchen, I sat
on the table with the rest of them, I was looking at them, especially at uncle, how come he’s so hot and Wolf isn’t as much.
“Are you half siblings?” I ask out loud.
“No, full blood brothers, wolves mate for life, mom and dad still together,” Levent says.
“I guess he was the lucky brother,” I say with a shrug.
“Lotus Green!” Mom yells at me but I just laughed, she got me while the siblings were sharing confused looks.
“What day is it?” I ask them.
“Sunday,” Uncle answers.
“So no school, yay,” I say out loud but then I think about the church, do they have a church.
“Do you have a church?” I ask them.
“We have a Celine temple, but most of us are catholic, you feeling religious?” Levent asks me.

“Maybe she wanna light a candle and thank god for surviving last night.” Mom suggests.
“I’m good staying here. I was just curious,” I answer them honestly.

“So what would you like to actually do today?” Uncle asks with a big smile on his face.
“She hardly got any better.” Mom says still worried.
“I think I just got some nasty virus, I’m much better now,” I assure her. I don’t know what was wrong with me last night, but I’m feeling much better.
“Glad it passed,” Uncle says with a smile on his face, it got me thinking, what happened last night? Did the mate came near me? Do they know? Did they die and we got over with it?
“Yeah. I think I’m just going to hang around today, what about you wolf?” I ask Levent, hoping he’d be taking my mom out so I can spend some more time with uncle.
“I’m taking your mother out,” he says, teasing me.
“You better bring her back before nightfall,” I warn him.
“Or what boss? You gonna ground me?” Mom asks me, chuc ng.
“I might do that, did you clean your room missy,” I ask her, enjoying the game.
“Oh no–mommy I forgot, please forgive me,” Mom says in a the stupidest little girl tone ever.
“You guys are weird,” Uncle says looking at us like we’ve lost our

minds, which only made the three of us laugh.
“Don’t you dare get in the middle of this brother, I finally got her to start liking me.” Woll says.
“Like you? In your dreams filthy flea bag.” I object right away.
“Lotus.” Mom warns.
“Too harsh?” I ask.
“Just so you know, I’m a very clean wolf, maybe if you get to meet the wolf part of me.” he says and my heart skipped a beat, I didn’t want to meet his wolf form, I didn’t want to meet any wolf, I would stop bullying him if that means not seeing that wolf side.
“I don’t need to do that.” I say the whole tone of the room have shifted from laughter into a tense feeling.
“What’s wrong pretty flower? You don’t like wolves?” Uncle asks me.
“I just don’t need to see him.” I say with a shrug.
“He might look all scary in human form, but he’s just a fuzzy bear when in wolf form, he’s not scary.” Uncle tries to assure me.
“My friend calls her mate fluff ball, but you should’ve seen ti nasty teeth he got, he can eat you alive,” I tell Uncle.
“Those are just for looks, we don’t eat people,” he promises me.
“Are you sure?” I ask him, just to be sure.
“Of course I am, you don’t have to worry about any wolf eating you.”

“On my first day of school, a wolf said that she’s gonna make me her chew toy.” I tell Uncle.
“You just tell me who that wolf is, and I’ll eat her for you,” he says, bopping my nose.
“See you do eat people.” I say.
“Only other wolves who mess with my family,” he says,
“I’m not your family.” I object.
“He’s my brother, and you’re my step–daughter.” Wolf says.
“Still up to debate.” I say.
“I married your mother Flower, what do you want me to do? Give you a show?” Wolf asks me.
“Ewww…I still can object,” I say.
“Let her do her thing, she loves objecting.” Uncle says, and I turned to him, how did he know that.
“It’s the first thing I picked,” Uncle says making me pout.
“We’re leaving Lotus, be good, and make sure to eat,” Mom says kissing the top of my head as she disappears with her wolf.
“So how do you like the compound so far?” he asks me.
“I only know school, and this building so far. Sometimes Nutmeg likes to hang out in the backyard, and that’s it,” I confess.
“Shame on my brother,” he says making me chuckle.
“Will you show me around?” I ask, starting to think of ways to get out of here, or maybe he’ll take me back home, he seems trust worthy enough, but I had to go slow with this, I can’t just tell him to do it.
“Of course, I will, why don’t we skip out of here and I show you the beauty of the outside?” he asks me and I jump up, running to my room to get my shoes on so we can get out here.
“I’m ready.” I yelled standing next to the door, ready to leave.
“Coming, wait for me little flower,” he says with a chuckle.
Unlce had a sport car, one that gets offended when driving slowly, and I wanted to see it drive for real, and so I asked him to, Uncle wasn’t very in the idea, he said that it’s not safe, but I had my seatbelt on.
“I’m okay. I promise, I won’t scream,” I promise him.
“Fine. but we need to get out of the compound,” he says, driving toward the gates of the compound, I could feel my heart jump with happiness now that we’re out of the compound.
“You’re very excited for this,” Uncle says and I nod, I was supper ready for this. I want to get out of here, as soon as the guards let us out, he hit the speed, and were off on the road.
“Does the roof come off?” I ask him.
“No, sorry sweetie, maybe open the window,” he says and I nod, opening the window letting the cool air come in, my head was pushed all the way out, finally freedom.
Recovery
“Head and limbs inside the vehicle, little flower,” he warns me.
“You’re no fun,” I object getting back inside the car.
“You not getting injured is on my to do list,” he answers me and I just shrugged.
“Fine, but you’re still no fun.” I object while actually enjoying my time with this drive.
“Just enjoy the drive,” he says rolling his eyes at me.
“Can I drive?” I ask him.
“Do you know how to drive?” he asks me.
“Uhh…I can learn?” I ask him.
“Fine, come here.” he says.
“Where?” I ask, and he pets his lap, come here and I’ll let you drive.
“What. I’m not a child,” I object.
“You’re the same size as one, and I don’t trust you to even reach the pedals.” he says and I whined, I’m not going to sit in his lap, that’s very diminishing.
“No thank you,” I answer him.
“Fine, where do you wanna go?” he asks me and I thought about it, where do I want to go? Other than home, but I can’t tell him that, so I went with the second–best option.
“How about we go get ice cream?” I ask him.
“Ice cream? I know a good place,” he says and speed even more making me giggle with happiness, I loved this, he should be the one driving me everywhere we go, and we should go this fast always.
