Chapter 179
Knight and Roman walk in, arguing. Wha in hand. They are definitely going to spoil the hell out of her.
t is it about today that’s got all the crazies fighting
Ayrie skips in after them with a Pop Mart bag and a fruit cup
“Hi, Mommy,” she beams when she sees me here. “I misses you.”
“What do you have there?” She’s t
me she misses me every day since coming
Germany.
I love hearing it.
“Auntie Perry got me a new Molly, and Daddy got me a snack. Where’s Aizen?”
“He’s not done with training yet. One more hour,” I inform her. She groans and

“Can you give me it back when he gets here so we can open it together. It’s a
“You got it. Do you have your camera ready in your room?”
“I’m going to set it up in the downstairs. I don’t want hims stinks in my room.” she waves it off.
“What do you mean by his stink? Are you two fighting?” I ask. The guys stop arguing and look over at her.
“No, but he smells weird. Like Uncle Elliot and Auntie Tessa,” she wiggles her nose.
“It’s the pack scent,” Knight explains.
I crouch down in front of her when she places the cup on the coaster.
“You okay?” I tuck her hair behind her ear.
“Yes,” she nods. “Icy likes it here, so I like it here.”
“You know it’s okay to tell me how you’re feeling, right?”
“Are we going to live here forever?” she whispers.
“We are,” I nod.
“Je regrette quand nous vivions en France,” she lowers her head like she’s ashamed of it.
Guilt washes over me, and I pull her in, tucking h
into me. She starts to cry softly and wraps her arms around me as I sit on the floor to hold her properly. Roman excuses himself when Knight comes over to us. He sits down on the floor in front of us and rubs her back.
“Things are always going to be changing for us, Ayrie,” he says calmly. “We’re always going to miss the way things were once, but remember what I told you at the art gallery?”
“Things aren’t always what they appear to be,” she says, sitting up, wiping her face. “Like art.”
“That’s right. Aizen is changing because one day he’s going to run this pack, like mommy does now. He’s going to be busy, and he might smell a little funny. He’s a pack wolf. They smell pretty so that others don’t think they’re threats.”
“But we are. You and Pop–pop said so.“/
“Right, that’s what makes Icy so special. He’s the alpha, just like Uncle Elliot.”
“Isn’t being the Rogue Prince so much better?” she sniffles.
“Hell yeah, it is,” Roman says from outside the door. She smiles and wipes her face once more.

“I don’t want to be a crybaby anymore,” she says and steps away from us. I don’t know what else to say to her.
“Then you better work hard in training,” Roman adds. “And it’s okay to be a cry girl. Ramona is, and she’s going to be twenty.”
“She’s old,” Ayrie laughs.
“She tries to be,” he steps into the doorway. “Grab your snack so we can leave your parents alone to argue.”
“We’re not going to argue,” I growl at him.
“Ah, ah, ah, save it for the King, Alpha Rizen.” he puts his hands up in surrender.
“Bye, guys. Have fun,” Ayrie takes her fruit cup and skips after him like she didn’t get emotional about not being in France a second ago.
“That is not a healthy way to deal with shit, baby girl. Take it from mommy,” I sigh, stretching my legs out.
“Well, considering she takes a lot after me, that can be your thing,” Knight comes closer to rub my back even after I told him it was too early for that.
“Thanks for giving me that.” I roll my eyes.
“The crybaby thing is all me,” he snorts. “It’s crying now and breaking faces after twelve.”
“She’s got you beat. She broke that kid’s face at the other school.”
“Aww man, she’s already one–upping me,” he laughs. “She’s going to be okay.”
“I know. She just misses him. Which one of us is going to pick him up in half an hour?”
“I’ll pick him up. Ayrie got to you, and ten bucks, he asks me why you didn’t pick him up instead, because his friends‘ parents don’t think I should be allowed to stay here. He doesn’t like it, and he’s stopped talking to two boys because of it.”
“He doesn’t like talking to me about anything,” I groan.
“I love that they trust us enough to complain about the other to us,” he laughs. “We’re going to have to schedule dates for the four of us.”
“Five,” I remind him, and his smile only gets bigger. “What were you and Roman arguing about?”
“Baby wants to join your pack, but he would rather she go back to Blood Ridge if she’s going to be a pack wolf.”
“I am going to say the same thing I told Perry earlier. Why the fuck would Ramona want to go back there after what happened? I bet she just wants to move past it. I’d hate everything about that city if it were me. Even if I had friends and family to back there for. She was rejected, it wasn’t some breakup.”
“That’s what I tried to explain to him. It’s why I never played at the Coliseum again. I couldn’t be there,” he agrees.
“See, you get it. Perry threatened and bribed the kid to leave. I told her to take it back, and then I upset her because Vy and I are fashion friends now.”
“Ooof, yeah. That should do it. She’s very possessive of Vy. Always has been. Come on, let’s get you off the floor. I’ll go get Aizen. You-” he looks me over. “Do whatever you were doing.”
“Getting snacks. Ren brought me dry meat from her trip to Mexico last week. It’s so good. Better than jerky,”
“Nothing is better than jerky,” he shakes his head I take his hand and lead him to the kitchen, where Ren and some of the omegas are prepar
“You’re back,” she grins. “Want some more?”
“Yes, please. And the Knight doesn’t believe it’s better than jerky,” I smirk at him.
“Prepare to be proven right, then, Alpha. King Knightly,” she places a baggy of dry meat slices between us.

I open it and pop a piece in my mouth before handing one to him. He inspects it first and then takes a small bite. We both look at him expectantly. He laughs and pops the rest of the piece in his mouth.
“Where did you get this?”
“Mexico. I ran a mission for Alpha Blake last week with a couple of his betas. She’s had weird cravings, so I thought she might like it,” she smiles.
“It’s good. We’re probably going to need more,” he says, taking another piece from the bag and kissing the top of my head. “The cravings and the smell sensitivity are infectious, apparently. I’ll be back. I’m going to get Aizen.”
“Be careful,” I say taking another piece. “The rest of these are for me.”
