Chapter 128: Admission Rejected!
Chapter 128: Admission Rejected!
(Aria’s POV)
I’d been spending the night at Olivia’s house since she got back from her business trip, and surprisingly, none of my relatives had bothered to ask where I was. This revelation sparked something fierce within me–a decision that I wasn’t going to be taken advantage of anymore.
The following morning, I called a moving company, my hands steady as I dialed the number. I was ready to move out of my own apartment to escape my aunt’s suffocating family.
Olivia, ever the loyal friend, teased me over her mobile phone when I told her my plan.
“You’re really going to be so ruthless? You’re actually going to move?” Her voice carried both surprise and admiration. “Won’t that make you fall out with Aunt Sophia’s family?”
I confirmed my decision without hesitation. “Yes, I’m moving today.”
She applauded loudly through the speaker. “Amazing, amazing! I knew you weren’t someone who would suffer in silence forever!”
Her voice turned sharp with anger. “Only Alexander, that big i***t Alpha, thought you were a softie who could be manipulated endlessly.”
A bitter laugh escaped my lips as I realized the painful truth. I had bent over backward for Alexander, putting
myself in the most humble position as his Luna.
That subservience had ultimately made me completely dispensable to him.
The world says to love yourself first, and I knew this truth now, albeit far too late.
“I should have done this years ago,” I muttered, my wolf stirring with newfound determination.
Fearing for my well–being during this confrontation, Olivia insisted on accompanying me. She declared she
would offer her courage as pack support.
Unable to refuse her loyal friendship, I drove us back to Moon Valley Residences together.
As we pulled into the parking garage, my mobile phone rang immediately. Aunt Sophia’s voice filled with
feigned surprise.
“Hello, Aria, what’s going on? Just now, a moving company knocked on our door, saying they were here to
move someone’s belongings…”
I confirmed calmly that it was my doing.
She probed further, her voice dropping with suspicion. “What… what’s happening? Why are you suddenly
moving without telling us?”
I reminded her with practiced innocence, “Didn’t I tell you yesterday? This apartment isn’t mine; it’s a
temporary rental.”
My voice remained steady as I continued the lie. “Now that the lease is up, I naturally have to move out.
Her voice became smaller, more manipulative. “Aria, are you upset that we’ve been causing you trouble by

staying here?”
I inwardly scoffed, knowing she was playing dumb despite being completely aware of the burden they’d
created.
I decided to play along with her innocent act. “How could that be? The rental period really is up.”
My tone stayed light and dismissive. “I’m almost at the building now; we can talk when I get upstairs.”
Olivia, ever the conspirator, grinned wickedly at me. “Tough!”
I jokingly pushed her face away with my hand. “Alright, stop messing around. The real drama starts in just a
few minutes.”
She nodded knowingly, understanding that Aunt Sophia’s family wouldn’t leave easily. They would try every manipulative trick to continue clinging to me.
Upon reaching my apartment floor, we found the movers waiting patiently in the hallway. Their professional uniforms and equipment boxes filled the narrow space.
I apologized immediately, feeling guilty about the delay. “Sorry, my aunt probably didn’t understand the situation, but it’s fine now. You can start moving my belongings.”
The movers, unconcerned since I was covering their waiting time, readily began assessing my possessions.
Their leader nodded efficiently. “No problem, miss. Where would you like us to start?”
Aunt Sophia swiftly pulled me aside before I could answer, her questions tumbling out in rapid succession. “Where exactly are you moving to? Is the new apartment big enough for all of us? How many rooms does it
have?”
I described the new place with deliberate disappointment. “It’s just a two–bedroom apartment. Much cheaper but in a less desirable neighborhood.”
My voice carried subtle discouragement. “The rooms are smaller too, and there’s no luxury amenities like
here.”
Aunt Sophia, ever resourceful in her manipulation, suggested immediately, “It’s alright, we can make it work!” Her voice grew excited with planning. “We can use a curtain to create a partition in the living room for Robert to sleep comfortably.”
She continued eagerly. “Sadie and I can share a room easily. We can make do with less space.”
I simply smiled without offering any encouragement, anticipating her desperate next moves.
Most of the apartment’s furniture belonged to Dominic, so I only had a few personal items and clothes to pack. My wolf whimpered softly within me at the mounting stress.
We were almost finished packing my belongings when the door to Sadie’s room was suddenly pushed open with violent force.
She stormed out angrily, her face twisted with rage and disappointment.
“Mom, I’ve been turned away!” she announced dramatically.
Aunt Sophia, who was still organizing her own things, looked completely confused by the outburst.

“What are you talking about, sweetie? Why were you turned away from what?”
Sadie glared directly at me with accusatory eyes burning with resentment.
“Just a few moments ago, the HR manager of Alpha Dominic’s Shadow Security called me personally!”
Her voice rose with indignation. “She said that my resume didn’t meet their basic requirements and they rejected my application completely!”
Aunt Sophia’s eyes widened in shock as she turned to face me with questioning expression.
“Aria, this… What exactly is going on here? I thought everything was arranged!”
I feigned complete ignorance and frowned slightly with apparent confusion.
“I honestly don’t know what happened. What exactly did the HR manager tell you?”
Sadie grinded her teeth together in obvious frustration before answering.
“She said they don’t hire wolves without proper qualifications at their company!”
Her voice cracked with embarrassment. “She was completely dismissive and rude about it!”
Olivia immediately stifled a laugh and retreated strategically to the kitchen, pretending to be busy with
something.
I gritted my teeth to hold back my own amusement, thinking back to all the sad events of my past to maintain a straight face.
Then I nodded seriously with false sympathy. “Oh, well, there’s really nothing I can do about their hiring policies.”
“Mom!” Sadie stomped her foot in complete frustration.
Aunt Sophia hurried immediately to comfort her daughter, her maternal instincts activated.
“Well, don’t be upset about this, sweetie. Maybe Alpha Dominic’s company didn’t realize who you were.” Her voice grew determined with scheming. “I’ll talk to him again personally and ask him to hire you directly!”
It was crystal clear that Aunt Sophia remained determined to capitalize on any relationship with the powerful Alpha King.
Aunt Sophia’s reassurances seemed to work temporarily, and Sadie, though still visibly sulky, turned her attention to our scattered belongings.
She muttered with obvious displeasure, “Where exactly are we moving to? It better not be some godforsaken place in the slums.”
“Don’t talk such nonsense,” Aunt Sophia scolded gently while pulling Sadie’s hand.
“Sweetie, go back to your room and play on your mobile phone for a while. We’ll call you when we’re completely finished moving.”
Sadie pouted dramatically, shot one final glare at me, then retreated to her temporary room.
Just as we finished packing the last of my personal belongings, a familiar knock sounded at the

door.
I looked up to see Dominic Blackwood standing in the doorway, his head tilted with characteristic confidence.

A playful smirk spread across his handsome face. “What’s this? Moving day without telling me?”
I was startled to see him appear so unexpectedly and instinctively nodded. My wolf stirred restlessly within me at his powerful Alpha presence filling the small space.
Recovering quickly from my surprise, and fearing he might accidentally reveal something sensitive to Aunt Sophia, I moved to pull him away.
“Dominic, I actually have something important to tell you privately…”
But before we could move anywhere, Aunt Sophia rushed over with lightning speed.
She grabbed Dominic’s muscular arm possessively and laughed with forced cheerfulness.
“Alpha Dominic, your company called Sadie earlier today and completely rejected her application!”
Her voice took on a pleading tone. “Can you please talk to your people and reconsider?”
Dominic glanced at me with clear amusement dancing in his silver–gray eyes. Then he responded smoothly. “That’s actually quite difficult to arrange. The company isn’t just mine personally, I can’t make all the hiring decisions unilaterally…”
I turned away quickly, my ears burning with embarrassment as he continued spinning his fabricated explanation.
His voice remained professionally apologetic. “There are strict qualification requirements and company policies I must respect.”
Aunt Sophia, growing increasingly anxious, pressed him further with desperation.
“This… then what are we supposed to do? Isn’t Sadie supposed to become your personal assistant?” Her voice cracked with disbelief. “You can’t even make a simple decision about hiring one person?”
